This is legit 'Eat The Rich'! Done RIGHT! Thank you writers of this insane series! I loved it! I was almost waiting for Nanno to show up and laugh in their faces along with the servants. At least that's what I kept joking to my mom about, who also watched it with me, and loved it as well. Great great series!
Okay so I recently watched a YT video that basically explained in detail BeomSeok’s charter and everything leading…
Finally, someone who gets Beom Seok. Not my favorite character, but I understood where all his anger and sudden evilness came from. When he would lash out, I personally would be more pissed off at the piece of trash which adopted him. You know the character of his father. My goodness, I wish someone could have written Sieun beating the shit out of that politician fucking asshole. But ... well, because of their culture and such, children are not allowed to touch adults, I get it. But my blood would boil every time I saw BeomSeok acting up, because it was just a reflection of that fucking politician asshole. Ugh... I just get so pissed just thinking about adults like him, who really traumatize children. Mostly all the adults who just don't understand the shit their students are going through. It's horrendous... But yeah, great show and great characters. My favorite, of course was Sieun. But I totally understand Beom Seok's pain.
I am just laughing at all the people hating on this. While I get WHY they're doing it... Hear me out ok? Hear me the fuck out. I gave this 8.5, because holy fuck... Now I understand people who get the second male lead syndrome. It hasn't ever happened to me, because the main actors I like, are usually pretty solid and nothing deviates my attention. Unfortunately for this particular series, all three main leads of the Flower Crew, and I'm talking about the main leads, do absolutely nothing for me. Like I've said before about other actors, they do not even inspire a venial sin outta me. [cause they are not the faves... ] HOWEVER, enter Seo Ji Hoon, who played Kim Soo, and then King Lee Soo....
HOLY FUCKING SHIT.... calm the fuck down boy. Like... He has that certain uuuumph.... If I am not careful, he might end up in my favorite actors list, which is not that big and only grew recently because I saw Lee Do Hyun in Exhuma, and finally understood that I do enjoy his performances too much. ... sooo... yeah..
.... Now as for the Female lead. I don't give a fuck what anyone says about her. She's damn gorgeous, and sure, she should have ended up with the king, like we all[that liked the king] wishfully hoped, but what I appreciate here, is that the writer gave her a choice. She was given a choice, and she made it. Though, for the sake of the cliches and the tropes and all that stuff that happens in South Korean Historical dramas, she had to choose the main male lead. [P.S. NO, this dude don't look like Yeo Jin Goo, please PLEASE stop saying that shit. No matter what angle I looked at him, I didn't see it, at all. I saw more like a Vincenzo look-alike. Like mini Vincenzo. *shrugs*] And I appreciate that she was the first one to confess. She were like, HEY DUDE I LIKE YOU, let's get it on. lol. I mean, that shit happens, unfortunately, and that's how some of us work. We go for what is obviously not the best for us, cause .... who tf knows. Some of us. I know others choose wisely and they choose people like the king. But like I said, I appreciate that she was given a choice, and she made it first.
Anyway, back to the King. LOL. Yeah that's the reason it got ALL THE POINTS. This is very high points in my opinion. Plus I really liked some of the other characters.[the female characters, and even some of the older actors. I loved the villains. They were annoying. I was waiting for their downfall, but they were fun to watch.] I loved how they gave them choices, in an era where choices were not there for regular people, and only for the rich. Yes, even when this is fiction.
Overall, like I said, The King [Lee Soo] SAVED the entire series for me. He definitely is the reason I gave this all those points. [way too many if you ask me, but most of them were for him. Like 6.5 outta 10 points were for him, while 2 points were for story and plot. lol...
At this point... I wanted to jump into that series and era and fake being one of those fancy ass bitches, so I could be The QUEEN. lol. Like HEYYY I'll marry you, let's go! I don't believe in marriage and shit like that, but for you, I'll make an exception. lol. That's how amazed I was, fr fr. I'm like... DUDE, I WANT TO BE THE QUEEN! Let's go! You ignited my Heteronormie Feels! Let's have our Heteronormie Core moments.
Yeah I think I found someone new to go down a rabbit hole for[I already started to be honest. I am on the active hunt for his more meaningful performances], while I wait for my faves to re-appear, make a come back, come back from the army, or pop up in something new.
So yeah, that was my uncalled for, two cents for this one.
Yay?
Are any of you fans of Seo Ji Hoon? Do you agree with me? Or nah?
I have not seen Hwayi , but definitely Yi Heon! I was wondering the same thing how was he not a villain. Maybe…
... True, but there's only so much stress and insanity you can blame on drug usage. I think, that, coupled with everything and everyone he had to put up with, did it for him. Up to this day, he's one of those villains I feel really sad for. And Hwayi.... If you ever get a chance, check out that movie. It's fun AF. Well, I'm biased, but I promise it's awesome. lol.
That's true, sometimes the way we feel outwardly and inwardly does affect how we see certain series or tv shows. If it helps you any, take a break and re-watch something that actually did make you feel better and you did enjoy. Maybe you'll enjoy it again after re-watching it and you can see new things about it that you liked. But yeah... Hope everything gets better for you. I know how it is to feel this way. It can feel overwhelming.
Lmao 😭What does Heteronormie Core mean though? Also I think if you have watched the Glory maybe that's where…
Same here. There are a lot of people who really liked it. And if it honestly has something going for it, it's Kim Soo Hyun's cute AF acting. I will never forget that scene where he cried because he was too cute and that's why his wife married him. XDDD omg... I wanted to hug him, truly.
XD oh ... I forget that people use those tactics to get you to read the articles. But I mean, for me, all you have to do is mention Yeo Jin Goo, and I'm already reading. lol.
,,,, plays a villain for the first time, since debut? .... So Hwayi gets a pass, and so does Yi Heon[Lee Hun]? I mean, I guess Hwayi wasn't exactly a straight forward villain, but he didn't do nice things. His reaction to his circumstances was ... well... You need to see the movie, if you're not aware of this character he played. And King Yi Heon was insane. Or went insane and was losing sight of what he really wanted for his country. ... Yo am I the only one that pays attention to the depth of his characters? *crickets chirp* .... tsk I guess so.
Anyway, looking very very forward to seeing him in this. It's gonna be a mind fuck, I'm sure. Fun times ahead.
Lmao 😭What does Heteronormie Core mean though? Also I think if you have watched the Glory maybe that's where…
I feel that he was perhaps too 'one dimensional' and there was like this mind fuck thing about him too. Like on one side you're like... Geez poor fucking dude had a shitty life, but also, that's a trope that's overused sometimes with these types of villains. Oh... they had a shitty life, so now they go make everyone's life a living hell.
Whatever the case, the villain, to me wasn't the biggest problem with this series. It was the narrative it was pushing. You know, the whole 'Rich people with feelings' trope. It is amazing to me [in a bad way] how we're so invested in the problems of rich people who get to have doctors from around the world cure their diseases, when some people like us, get to die because we can't even afford health insurance. Yes, I know all that shit is fictional, but for rich people, the access to healthcare is not a joke in the real world. They have it, and they can get all kinds of doctors in on their problem until they solve it.
Hell... don't even get me started on human trafficking... but anyway... yeah... that turned me off really hard. I'm like.... oh.... ohhhhh they're that type of rich folks. eeew.
So that's why when they got hurt or they got into shenanigans I would just roll my eyes and be like... Oh... Televisa... I miss you, not really. [aka- that tv station would abuse the 'Rich Folks With Problems' trope like... yikes.]
yeah... It happens. It's just I have a reason, why I do have a history of watching entire kdramas. But that's a long ass story. Either way, there are people who enjoyed this and it's fine. But I personally thought it was horrendous. lol. I suppose you agree with me there?
Lmao 😭What does Heteronormie Core mean though? Also I think if you have watched the Glory maybe that's where…
I don't know what Heteronormie Core is! I just made it up on the spot! lol. It's just when I see too much heteronormie shit I'm like.... oh it's... eeew. But that's just me. And I half saw The Glory. I liked it, it was fun. And yeah the villain part was like... heheheheheh I have seen this character. And I don't mean the actor, I just mean like the same type of character in many other dramas. Including dramas that are not even South Korean.
The only points this got was for the acting. Some of these characters were Televisa Novelas levels of entertaining. XDDD omg... This shit seriously took me back. And got me mad at the same time, cause I hated that shit. But you would see me there sitting on my ass watching 'Dos Mujeres y Un Camino' or 'Baila Conmigo' like it was a religion or some shit. *cackling*
Anyway... yeah... I said what I said. Cast did great at the acting. The story was crap though. Also, the main villain... I feel like I've seen this type of villain in so many other Korean Series. XD It's like. Hold up, wait a minute. Where have I seen this character before?
*still cackling*
Whatever, if you like your cliches after cliches after cliches, and the whole Rich people with feelings, trope, then this stuff might be right up your alley.
Personally, I've already seen the hell out of that in my lifetime. Let's go... NEXT.
I'm considering starting this drama and this is exactly what i'm worried about - women victims already are depicted…
Thank you, I thought I was the only one who had a lot of trouble watching this. I saw everything you saw. Don't care that many are loving it, for me it's a. Nah. I'll leave it at 5 outta 10.
Honestly, I didn't know I needed this, but I did. I needed to watch it and I loved it. I took some points off for the characters annoying me at some of the beginning episodes, but in all honesty the way they explain why they were the way they were made me go, 'OOOOHHHH OK, now I get it.' And I really appreciated that. Not only that, I really love Seol Hyun, I enjoy looking at her so much. She's so beautiful. But yeah, great series. I really recommend it if you want something nice and down to earth that gives a good message. Aka- a simple life is a good life too. You just have to find your rhythm and remember that it's not always going to be so perfect. Love that.
I love Yeo Jin Goo, but I barely like romantic type stuff. This was cute, at most. And people over there talking about the original. I don't care for either. Either way, as I said, cute, very cute. I loved the little turtle too. So so so CUTE.
Do people not know that a lot of psychopaths just get off on killing? Like.... Do they think these people have to have a really fucked up childhood to become who they are? They are just monsters and that's it. Whether they had a bad childhood or not, doesn't matter. They are out there taking it out on innocent people and not regretting this shit one single bit. They honestly don't deserve a backstory. I wish these people who think like this would know what it's like to have psychos kill someone in their family. I bet you, you wouldn't even give a flying fuck why that psychopath killed your loved one. You'd just want to see justice served, as in either have that psycho stay in jail for life, or get the death penalty. Whatever the case, this movie was so .... strange... Some of the choices the characters made were like... Why? And unlike some comments on here that wish the psycho would win, I was wondering why the fuck the main girl didn't just shoot him in the head and end his life right there and then? tsk. That's not final girl actions. But whatever, I watched it and I gave it a 7 outta 10 because I like the actor that played the main girl's father. That's it. lol.
I started liking this young actor, at the end of 2019 very beginning of 2020, and as of now, I still haven't found any other actor that keeps my attention on a series the way he does. I swear to goodness he commands the screen no matter what series he's in. I am happy to still be his fan. Hope he continues to bless the screen for a long long time. Looking forward to all his future projects.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT.... calm the fuck down boy. Like... He has that certain uuuumph.... Heteronormie Core dialed up all the way. lol.
