It was a really good romantic and feel good lakorn for once. Every lakorn I've watched makes you want to scream or cry. This one was funny and stress free. The main lead are the most unproblematic characters I've seen in a long time and I could'nt help but binge watch this great series. They should make more lakorns like this one seriously. Not even one slap scene, so refreshing !
i didnt watch the drama yet can i watch this one first or must watch the drama?
You can watch this one first if you want, they are not really related but if you watch the drama, you might be really disappointed with this move imo. This movie is no match for the drama, which was so good, beyond words!
I just finished it after forever, I had to put it on hold for a few months. I just finished it, watching at 2 times speed. It was a bit childish and dragged a lot. Overall ok but a bit disappointing
I am considering watching this drama since I see The Story of Ming Lang in recommendations, which is one of my favorite drama. Can someone please tell me how are they similar? Are the FL and ML smart? Is it a slow romance ?
i actually find mi jeong and mr. gu arc least interesting. there's an underlying superficiality on it when they…
You can find my opinion about that up :)
Also, would it have been better and more "realistic" in your opinion if she just asked him out as a stranger ?
Going out with someone for the sake of it is not what she wants. She said exactly what she wanted. Why sugarcoat it ? She will end up with the same result.
She could have indeed asked anybody, but she didn't. She asked Mr Gu. Why ? Because he is more miserable than her. When facing someone we already feel superior to in a sense give us courage to do things whe can't never bring ourselves to do when facing someone that we consider "better" than us. And that is a reality for most of us.

Everyone is a stranger before becoming a close one. In that case, I think that "worship" was the best way for her to describe what she wanted from Mr Gu. Not a romantic relationship per say but one where she could get, for once, more than she would give. None of her relationships so far have been great or made her feel great. They all ended up making her feel worse than in the beginning. So for once, she wants to give it her all knowing that the other person will make her feel as great as she needs/wants to.
I don't think she was considering Mr Gu as a potential man for her until her sister brought the "I will fall in love with anyone" thing. Deep down she might have wanted the same thing, not for the same reason as her sister obviously. She is someone who keeps everything bottled up inside, talking and conveying one's feelings is difficult for her. So obviously she wouldnt go up to anybody and ask them to "worship" her. I think she saw Mr Gu as someone that is worse off than her, an alcoholic who drinks the night away without any purpose. So that alone gave her enough confidence to take that first step.
I don't see her as completely all over heels over him. She is starting to appreciate his qualities, that is true. When she said "you like me" with such confidence, you know that she took power in that moment because she just isn't there yet. I think she does appreciate all the time they spend together, but her feelings don't seem to be that deep yet.
She explained why her previous relationships failed, and she is very self-conscious so no she is not putting complete blame on her exes. For example, she said she was selfish in one of her relationships, secretly wishing for her boyfriend's business to fail. She owns her own faults. She knows what she has going for her and what she doesn't.
I totally disagree with you about Mr Gu. Don't just look at his actions, but listen to his words. He is far from being a one dimensional character. He is more tormented than any of the other characters. His own torments are way above their daily life trouble but all they see is an alcoholic man who doesn't speak much. That shows that you never know what people hide in their hearts.

I think they used the wording "worship" very wisely in the romantic arc. You say it's unrealistic but I disagree. I think it's very realistic instead. In real life, we want people to love us, care for us, put ourselves as a priority in their lives... more than we do for them or at least as much as we do. Nobody wants to be loved less than how he loves the other. At the very best we want to be loved more. Isn't that a kind of worshipping ? Instead of the usual, "I like you" "I want you to like me back", most of us want to feel more loved than how we love or at least as much. I think them using "worship" in this context is more relatable to what most of us feel deep down when it comes to romantic relationships as we are greedy for the other one's appraisal, love and care. Of course we won't say it out loud but it's the feeling we hide behind our need for love. And that's why I like this drama, their dialogue put words on feelings you can't express.
Some people wait for a drama to end to rate it, so it might change once the drama ends. It's not the most watched…
Well I think thats only in Asia or maybe worldwide, I don't know how they count the views. But I was talking about the number of views on this forum only : over 3000 people have marked this drama as "currently watching" and only around 500 people have rated it so far.
8.1 That's ridiculous, there must be sabotaging going on, this drama is a masterpiece!!!!
Some people wait for a drama to end to rate it, so it might change once the drama ends. It's not the most watched drama on MDL and very few people have rated it so far. Also, it cannot be everyone cup of tea, so it might be one of those underrated drama at the end of the day. Hopefully, the drama stays this good and the rating gill go up afterwards because more people with watch/rate it once it's completed!
I was waiting till this drama finishes airing to watch it, how was it for people who have finished it? Is it romantic…
In short, yes there is romance and yes you can call it dark since it's about revenge, so it's not a smooth sailing type of romance. The story is entertaining with many twists and turns, and both leads are smart. Their relationship gets challenged towards the end, that might be the downside, but overall it's an enjoyable ride. I would recommend you watch it and make your own opinion.
