I watched this begrudgingly just because Im Siwan is going to be in the second season and I want to be able to watch that but this is actually a good show. It doesn't live up to the hype in my opinion but there were some great characters and touching stories. We'll see if they will be able to keep the story fresh in the second season.
This movie is thought-provoking and beautifully shot and I would recommend it to everyone regardless of genre preferences. I saw the movie on October 11th 2024 in a theater where the director Sakamoto Takehito was actually present and answered audience questions which was very insightful. The story is loosely based on a book by Ishii Yuichi that contains true stories from people that were customers in a human rental shop that he managed.
Fantastic actors and a great base story but an unfortunately lackluster execution. The writing was really the biggest issue and I think costumes could have been used more effectively but despite all the flaws I still enjoyed this quite a bit. If you enjoy violent and thrilling melodramas, don't miss this one.
So far everything from pacing to character development has been great. However, after such a wild ride in the first half of the drama, the writers are going to have some major challenges in keeping the series entertaining while maintaining the tone in the second half. Usually this is where things go downhill, let's hope that isn't the case this time. (That Vincenzo cameo had me screaming btw)
An absolutely fantastic film! I saw this last night and was thoroughly impressed with the writing, acting and directing alike. Definitely watch without spoilers and preferably without any prior expectations.
This was a very well made, enjoyable series. Han Sohee and Park Hee Soon had wonderful chemistry. I loved the action sequences and although I can't say that there were many big plot twists, the show kept me on my toes all the way through. In spite of the understandable complaints from many, I actually found the ending more than satisfactory. 9/10
The plot started out exciting but ended up feeling quite lackluster after the midpoint. The main characters were shockingly uninteresting and I couldn't feel the much hyped "incredible chemistry" between the leads no matter how hard I tried. The tango scene was undoubtedly the best moment of the series and there were some very appealing visuals throughout the drama that provided a point of interest but weren't enough to command a room. The historical sequence was pointless and horribly unoriginal and I cannot for the life of me understand why they seem to have become a trend. However, I will admit to experiencing a few laughs and one or two surprises. 7/10
It took me 10 years to finish this drama. I started watching this in 2014 but couldn't get past the dragged out backstory with the young leads. While in the end I found this drama quite enjoyable, the first five episodes could have been condensed into one and it would have made the pacing much better. Nonetheless, the tragically beautiful story that ultimately unfolded made me glad I finally finished this.
I never would have thought during Produce that Ji Hoon could be this charismatic but holy hell is he a terrific actor. This is hands down the best show I have seen this year. Looking forward to another season!
The scene where Chi Yeol calls Hae Yi during the recital just to help her use the app is the sweetest thing ever ♡ I'm almost more excited about their teacher-student relationship than the main characters' romance.
