I just rewatched it and damn it's such a good film! Great characters with interesting motivations. The twists are great even when you know they're coming. Absolutely brilliant.

This drama has really great, absurd comedy that proved my hesitation to watch completely unwarranted. I don’t remember the last time a drama made me laugh out loud so many times. The ending was also very satisfying to me, even though my heart breaks a bit for the other guy.

To me this show felt like some strange form of fanservice, but I guess I am just not a big enough fan of whatever it is. The premise was interesting and there was an attempt at a meaningful plot which seems to have landed for other viewers but fell short for me. Not a bad show per se, just not for me.

This sat on my on-hold list for over two years and now that I finished it I can't imagine why it took me this long. It is a true melodrama in the best sense of the word: the twists often border on the implausible and that's exactly what makes it entertaining. The acting is superb, the chemistry between the leads crackles and Lee Yoori is a force of nature.

Im Chul Soo is absolutely phenomenal. In the past, he seemed confined to the funny sidekick roles (which he pulls off effortlessly) but those parts only let him show so much range. That’s why it’s so exciting to see him finally take on a more serious role and completely knock it out of the park.

A very interesting story, carried by complex main characters. Overall, I think it would have benefited most from better pacing. The first two episodes could have easily been condensed into one that establishes the leads better and creates stronger engagement. Their initial relationship was somewhat rushed, to the point where it's hard to tell where affection begins to grow. Strangely enough, after episode 11, the plot starts to drag quite a bit. This could probably be fixed just by extending the first arc and tightening the last quarter. It's not a bad drama by any means but it would need some refinement to get an exceptionally high score from me. 7/10

I agree!I got distracted by the unsuited music every time! And further along the eps, even started to get annoyed…
Yes, I had the same experience towards the end of the show, unfortunately.
And I agree: One Spring Night, which incidentally is my comfort show, is a great example of a mature romance where the music is done right so that it enhances the mood.

What a wonderful series! So heartwarming and wrenching at the same time. No clichés, just raw emotions from joy and excitement to sadness and regret. Friendship, love, loss, ambition, growth and all the conflicts that arise from these were beautifully portrayed against the backdrop of poignant historical turmoil. The ending profoundly resonated with me, and likely many others, because it reminded us how even the fleeting moments in life can be deeply meaningful. Perhaps only those who have aged on the inside can truly feel it.

I don't know why but the OST of this show doesn't work for me. Normally I have no complaints about music dramas use (save for the Heirs for obvious reasons) but the soundtrack in this one just doesn't fit the vibe.

Although the consensus seems to be that this movie is no good, there is some raw and painful quality to the story that pulls me in. Upon rewatching it, the chemistry between Yeongjun and Yuna feels palpable and the ending was quite satisfying. Of course, if you cannot stand cheating in films, steer clear of this one.

The premise of this drama is interesting enough but the plot suffered from missing certain critical elements.
Firstly, the stakes of the story are not high enough. The main character is set on avenging his brother, or dying while trying. While on the surface this can be exciting, it also means that a threat to his life doesn't hold much meaning since he is willing to sacrifice himself anyway. It would have been better, if he had also had someone (e.g. a kid) that he wants to protect while seeking revenge. That would have made the story more thrilling but as it was, I didn't really care about him or any of the characters so the deaths didn't feel like anything.
Secondly, because none of the characters demonstrate meaningful loyalty to one another, the betrayals feel empty and predictable. It's hard to be shocked by one character attacking another when that is what all of them are doing at all times.
Finally, I really wish they had introduced other ways to resolve conflict than just killing the person in your way. Making threaths, blackmailing opponents or having characters team up to take down a common enemy etc. would have been great ways to show what the characters hold important, what their values are are what they fear – therefore making us connect with them more.
As it is, unfortunately, the story felt quite shallow to me, even though the acting was solid and the world pretty interesting.

Lee Junyoung was the standout performance for me in this season. He was almost unrecognizable to me. Granted, the last thing I watched him in was Love & Leashes which is worlds apart from this character.

If this drama were to be evaluated by a professional critic, I'm sure it would not score very well, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Although the premise of the show is a woman dying from terminal illness, I found the drama quite uplifting and positive. It took me back to when I first started watching Korean dramas in 2009 and at the risk of sounding cheesy, they don't make them like this anymore. In both good and bad the drama industry has changed a lot since Korean media starting reaching international audiences and while budgets have increased and production value is overall much better these days, watching something like this once in a while just hits the spot.

The set up for this drama was very intriguing and the chemistry between the leads was palpable. The acting was all around excellent but unfortunately the story was not as well-constructed as I had hoped based on the trailer. An enjoyable watch nonetheless. 7/10
