I feel the same at first, maybe because we are used to CY's previous serious roles, not a carefree, witty, funny role as LLH. But after some episodes, i am getting use to it already now, because of his great acting.
Actually LLH reminds me of Zhou Yi An role from Draw the Line ☺️ and from all of his drama's bts, he seems to be a lively, funny and more playful person in reality, just like ZYA or LLH 😁

I love the story too, how prideful Li Xiang Yi, was defeated physically and mentally. When he came "home" injured, he literally was abandoned by his sect (friends). Even his lover actually wanted to leave the sect long time ago. Its just like a thunder strike for his mental, suddenly everything/he did/life seems to be in vain.
This hit him so much that he chose to die in 10 years rather than a chance to recover if he went back to his sect. He let go the past and everything he had and be a more carefree person, live a carefree life and serve other people as a doctor.
Its not a revenge story just as usual xianxia/wuxia drama, but on contrary is a let go and accepting reality story 😂
And this actually very relate to our own life, where usually we need big event/crash, to enable us let go things.
Interesting detective (non romance) plot + light comedy friendship + awesome acting skill and beautiful moves by 3 handsome men, will definitely make our summer bloom this year 🥰
