So I will say my 2 cents on GW and LZX too based on episode 24 DVD.
Gu Wei had a human reaction to what happened to him with the rude parents and the accusations.
His entire life got erased in a matter of seconds... he was suffering previously from PTSD from his teacher's death, he barely recovered, was still insecure and struggling to overcome loneliness, his cleanliness psychological disorder, his new relationship, etc etc.
His girlfriend doesn't notice at all that something is wrong with him, doesn't catches his mental state in spite of him struggling several times to tell her what happened. His mind was in a total chaos, when you are shot down like that your reactions are not like those of a normal person anymore, you don't reason, don't metabolize how your mental state can afflict those around you when you collapse.
After his outburst at the family dinner, Lin Zhixiao ran after him, asked him what was wrong, but she didn't for one single second stopped to ask herself what might have been the cause of such big disaster. As a normal girlfriend, she should have called the hospital and ask if anything bad happened, or call her friend as she always did in the past and ask her to inquire, or even more easy, to ask Gu Xiao if anything happened to GW because he is acting strange. But she just commiserate herself, and went to party with her friend shutting down the phone, when the phone might have helped her to find the truth.
But even after Dr. Gao and Dr. Du came to tell her that something big happened to him, instead of going and trying to clear things and be more understanding, as she absolutely knew about his past PTSD, she considered right to yell and make a scene, even hitting him in the legs... Who in their right mind would do that? I mean, GW has his slice of wrong in this story, but he is having all the reasons to act as he did, while LZX just thought at her own selfish reasons, and what shoked me the most was she called him a failure...
In that moment I couldn't help to say: girl, I love you but this time just GTFO. That was an arshole move.
I love both actors and they do a phenomenal job with their acting, but today I really couldn't stand LZX. I hope she redeem herself, because I'm quite upset as of now.

There are lots and lots of fluffy cute romantic scenes, with in-between some angst to make the story more believable and give a sense of realness to the entire plot. The drama is a HW though so no, is not a tragedy in disguise.

DVD version is as it should air, TV version has the credits cut and is also weird edited (i.e. starting/ending), to make it fit the TV airing schedule.

He just had his entire life erased to 0 and his dreams for a happy life with his new girlfriend shattered to pieces, his privacy invaded, his phone number exposed, his career destroyed and his job pushed into drain... Would you be at ease to "tell the stuff out" especially when the family of your beloved one is pressing on you to take responsibility? Good for you if you feel you would be so tough.

I've been in pain for Gu Wei since the last episodes aired... Can't get over the sadness, I've been in tears for him. And the fact that he feels so lonely it makes me even more sad for him. Help, can't this angst go away sooner!! 😭
But I must praise Xiao Zhan here, he is indeed a phenomenal actor. All his micro expressions went right into my soul.

The number of episodes was also changed on Tencent not only on Hunan, not sure if is only the TV version...

What fans are you talking about? Turtles (cp) are not fans, they are BL obsessed individuals that doesn't care about XZ's career, they only care about their own fantasies. Don't call them fans please...

Gu Wei and Lin Zhixiao in The Oath of Love are the most meant-to-be couple in any drama I've ever watched so far! The chemistry is fire, their lovey-dovey scenes are so natural it looks real, out of this world.

She got mad because he said that the boyfriend of Yin Xi deserves personal space and she is too clingy, and this to some people is unbearable. LXZ took it personal and she thought that GW was considering her clingy and nosy and didn't gave him personal space. But LXZ was just childish and got influenced by her 2 bff which are the cause of all misunderstandings between her and GW.
