Not trying to defend the series or the FL dad or anyone, but when you get cancer and you know you might die tomorrow, your actions becomes unpredictable, you become selfish and scared and your actions reflects that fear. Im talking from experience, my dad has cancer, my mom also died from illness, they both entered the selfish mode when they got sick and acted immature and not like their usual selves, making everyone around them to suffer unconsciously. This is life and i don't see why it should be portrayed differently in the drama.

Oh btw, if you didn't watched that scene, the cousin is a piece of scum who doesn't work and after the dinner at Gu Wei's house he complained that he had to leave because Wei had an emergency and he didn't got to enjoy the food and left with the stomach empty. He had a banter with his dad who told him to get a job and kicked him out from the house after taking him the credit cards, not before the cousin threatening him to tell the mom that he was frequenting the same bars/girls as him... But after he left his mom ran after him and gave him hers. Such a toxic family, from dad to mom to son.

Well, the ex or wannabe gf trope is almost a "must" in any c-drama I watched so far, and tbh without them we would complain that the drama has no spark, no real "drama" and that would lead to boredom quite fast. A bit of jealousy here and there is healthy, even in real life if you think well. :D

The Psychologist in on recommended probably because there is the same main lead in both :) People usually does that with the main leads dramas. But yeah, they don't have much in common, not much frustration in this one up to episode 6, and much better acting, even from Yang Zi, though the drama is a bit older. My 2 cents tho.

There are dozens of comments that explains it below. One is the version that goes on TV aired by Hunan, one is the DVD version aired by Tencent, the TV version has slight censoring. They are both on WeTV accessible by search.

Expect more haters to swarm in here to downvote and badmouth the drama, as Qinglan action is taking place in c-entertainment between now and tomorrow, many actors/idols are trembling and their fanbases are attacking others to stir up troubles. And as usual XZ is the main target. 🙄

OMG why am I bawling my eyes out? The scene between Dr. Gu and Lin Zixiao at kfc was so cute but then her crying is so contagious I couldn't help but burst in tears when she climbed on her father's shoulder. Tomorrow i'm gonna have frog eyes from crying lol.
So, I've been watching the Online (DVD) version episodes from 1-5 on WeTV then I decided to watch episode 6 on the TV ver... If anyone wonders what's the difference, episode 6 of the TV Version up to minute 17:20 is part of the the episode 5 from the DVD version and it doesn't even have intro, so this means the TV ver is getting shortened of clips by a large margin.
