I really enjoyed this drama and I saw some comments or people saying that the 24 episodes isn't enough or that the limit for the episodes really messed with the drama (I may be wrong or interpreted it differently) but I think the story and the number of episodes fit. It didn't feel rushed to me, if it had more, it probably would be like The First Frost with the leads missing out on each other and a long break before they get together but this one wasn't so bad that I had to take a break.
Fans of the ML might come for me but this is my opinion and what I think of the story so mind yourself please. I really didn't like Jiang QiaoXi. At some point I wanted YingTao to just leave him and stop. I understand he has his own story and whatnot but imagine liking and chasing someone like QiaoXi, it's draining. They both went through alot but in the romance perspective and someone starting to see red flags in romance, the way he treated her or the way he handled things is a big red flag to me. Yingtao is really brave cause she really fought for her love but being the only one fighting is so stressful. I get he didn't want to drag her down but he's really a jerk for telling her not to forget him. But the emotions?? woah, the main actors did really well( I love them btw hahaha).
I usually don't like second leads cause they just be doing too much but I really hoped YuQiao would at least get a chance, I really liked him. He really loved and cared for YingTao, I liked how he handled things, he loved purely, sincerely and respectfully in my opinion.
Other than that, EP 21 was my favourite hahaha, very beautiful :)
Song YiMeng doesn't deserve Nan Heng, seriously. I've been trying to push through without commenting but she's…
I agree — neither of them is perfect, and she definitely has her reasons. But what really frustrates me is that she’s not listening to him. The major plot points still have to unfold, and while I get that she wants to change things, he’s a real, living person too, like he said. If she actually took the time to hear him out, things might be different. I do understand where she’s coming from, but I still feel like she doesn’t deserve him. Now that I think about it, Nan Heng in the original script doesn't deserve her, meanwhile in this script, she doesn't deserve him😌
Song YiMeng doesn't deserve Nan Heng, seriously. I've been trying to push through without commenting but she's really pissing me off and so annoying. You would think that her having to know things, she would be smarter and plan things well but she's so dumb. She keeps telling Nan Heng to explain but then tells him to keep quiet when he does, like girl??? I really feel bad for Nan Heng for having to love someone like that, even the sister has more sense than her.
I need to rant😭 Someone needs to get rid of QingYing, she's so annoying, it's like she doesn't even think before she does anything. If not for her brother, I don't think she would have survived this long. I can't believe she was roaming and survived this long, always causing trouble. There's just something about her that's just irritating. Lastly, the actor that plays the third prince, they need to give him better roles cause I'm going to start disliking seeing him on-screen.
I have so much to say—oh my gosh 😭😂 First of all, I honestly didn’t care much about Xiao JingShan. The one I was praying would die was Long Yuan. He was infuriating! And the way the disciples just blindly followed him just because he was the first disciple? Ugh, it drove me crazy. I can respect his loyalty, sure—but his stubbornness was unbearable. At one point, I was seriously just hoping someone would roast him.
Second, I couldn’t understand why Siling/Hua Ru Yue wanted to kill Bai JiuSi so badly. But once the reason came to light? It all clicked. Her scheming was chef’s kiss—I loved every bit of it, especially how far ahead she planned. And I admire JiuSi too, for going along with it even though he had no idea what was happening 😂 It was heartbreaking, though, how their misunderstanding dragged on and ended up hurting not just them, but everyone around them. Honestly, this just proves: talk things out. Don’t assume. We have mouths for a reason!
Third, I was paranoid the whole time—suspecting everyone. It was wild 😂 I actually felt so proud of myself for guessing it was possible Hua Ru Yue orchestrated everything inside the illusion (I was literally cheering for myself hahaha). I suspected her teacher, the only female elder disciple, all the elders—even Zhang Suan. Everyone felt shady at some point 😂
Lastly, I really pitied Ling’er. Her father was awful, and yes, I was hoping he’d die too. But I’m glad he came to realize his faults in the end.
I need to vent, and hopefully getting this out will help clear my head. I started watching this drama back in…
Like Asule is so impulsive, why the hell did he sacrifice the Iron Futu soldiers even after being told how important they are? Just to save another very impulsive and insecure person that just screams his name whenever given the opportunity? Not worth it honestly. I thought he had some sort of plan as he was charging ahead but truly he wasn't using his brain, just acting on feelings which makes it so much worse for me😭 I really have beef with Ji Ye 😭😂
I need to vent, and hopefully getting this out will help clear my head. I started watching this drama back in 2019 but stopped at episode 13. Now, I think I’m ready to give it another shot—at least get halfway through before making a final judgment.
When I first started it, I could tell it had potential, but it was frustrating how things weren’t going the way I hoped. I originally stopped because it felt like Yu Ran didn’t really care about Asule—and honestly, I still feel that way. But what’s really irritating me right now is Ji Ye, he's the main reason why I stopped in the first place. He seriously gets on my nerves. It’s bad enough that I’m tempted to quit watching, but I don’t have anything else lined up😭
Even though Ji Ye is listed as a main character, it feels like the story is more about him than Asule. I really want to see more of Asule—not as someone weak, but as a fighter. I get that he’s sick, but he acts like he has nothing to contribute and doesn’t even seem interested in growing stronger—mentally, not just physically.
Honestly, Asule doesn’t come off as very smart. If he weren’t a crown prince, he probably wouldn’t have survived this long. In the beginning, he had this spark, a bit of fire, but now he just feels so dull and passive. And don’t get me started on Ji Ye—he gives me a headache. He charges into things without thinking, and I kind of wish he wasn’t a main character at all.
THISSSS. so far i saw a lot of comments hating on the mother fair enough she was also very controlling and ended…
Trueee, honestly it's easy to misunderstand the mum, it doesn't help that she doesn't know how to express herself and she cares and loves silently. She ended up taking both a father's role and mother's role even though her partner is well and alive, including her husband's family's maltreatment. She was very controlling but you can tell it's from a place of love, it doesn't excuse her behaviour, but she really did have her kid's best interest at heart just had the wrong execution. If her husband stood his ground and took his daughter from his parents, supported his wife, things probably would have ended differently.
I need to rant *sigh*, as much as we all know the Qiao family have problems and are at fault, the father, Qiao Qingyu's father, is truly a coward. Personally, I think he killed his daughter and he is the reason why their family is in shambles. I don't see anything wrong with the way Qingyu handled things, cause the adults need to own up to their mistake. Even if they refuse to believe they were at fault, I'm so glad that the reputation they've been holding like some precious item is ruined. It bothers me sooooo much watching how they treat the daughters in their family (and daughter-in-laws). Qingyu's brother too is so useless just like his father, doesn't have a mind of his own, only thinking about spending money when he can't even make. I really do feel bad for the mum cause her husband is driving her insane, he's the cause of their problems 99%. He can't stand up for his family, can't even make money but instead drinks, truly a useless man and I hope no one ever has to meet such a useless person in their life or become one. You would think that the grandmother would have a little bit of sense cause she was once a daughter-in-law but her foolishness knows no bounds, all she knows how to do is faint instead of using her brains. I can't even blame the grandfather, first son and his wife (JinRui's parents), those ones are pure evil.
So far I'm on ep14 and liking it but the frustration ugh, hopefully things get better for QingYu, BeiYu is so pitiful🥺
Amazing drama!!!! I love how I didn't know what was going to happen next🙈 Need more drama's like this, YiWanSan pissed me off so many times lol, PangPang and his pheasant were the stars of the show hahahaha. Hong Sha was soooo reliable(luckily they had her honestly), MuDai and LuoRen were sooooo cute omggg hahahaha. I really like Shen Kun too, I'm glad he was there to guide them, hopefully his friend wakes up but overall 10/10 hahahaha✨
Omg, Yi WanSan is so annoying ugh. He's the reason why Pingting almost killed him and Pangpang, then now the savage?? Can't he just use his brain😭 Mu Dai is in the house and knows pingting is locked, why the hell would he intervene without asking questions???? At least ask MuDai what's up. The savage literally tried to help him, save hime, and ugh. At least he didn't try to kill the savage in the cave cause he would have died, but he's sooooo annoying omg😭 sigh... I just needed to rant, I feel like he's going to piss me off more omg😭😂 but I'm really enjoying this drama💯😆
Hi can someone explain to me please why he hates his father so much? I understood the father got into a coma,…
I think it's cause he feels like his father abandoned him, plus, he didn't really treat his mum right. I also think that he needed someone to blame too. I don't think the dad did anything wrong, he could have done better or handled things differently but it wasn't entirely his fault. If anything, it's the grandmother that should be blamed. I feel like he felt more hurt than anger, plus his history with his mother and adoptive father wasn't the best.
This drama is so bad omggg😭 I'm in episode 22 and struggling to finish. First of, the actors are so robotic, the emotions seems so...empty. The acting is so bad especially with the supporting characters, even the story is just bleh, not even feeling the connection between the leads damn💔 I had high hopes😭💔

All in all—solid ending!
