Seeing all the recent positive reviews, I feel a bit like a villain, but I have many complaints about the drama's narrative development and obvious flaws (this is the fault of the writers and director). However, I'll just mention the things I liked: 1. Obviously, the actors, and not just the main couple, but seeing so many actors I've seen in other dramas who did a great job. 2. The main storyline answered most of the questions raised. 3. The official ending was good; the ending of episode 41 was a bit cliché, but it was still good. 4. The costumes and locations were beautiful. 5. It's not the typical story that's so often repeated in costume dramas. If you're a fan of angst dramas, you'll definitely enjoy it. For me, it's an 8 out of 10.
totally agree with you...I dropped it btw after 5 ep...I just couldn’t force myself to keep watching it.
And yes i put this drama on hold for a month, meanwhile i watched other 2 long dramas and 3 or 4 short ones, but i finally watched the whole drama, in the edits in Twitter looks better with all the skinship, kisses and stuff, but in the drama the chemistry is average and is not centered in the love story, so i kind of forced myself to finish but since the last 10 episodes are interesting i forgot about that.
It tries to be a 'complicated' story, but they don't develop it with scenes; the characters simply explain what happened, and at least 20% of the drama is spent on that. The story is predictable, and the characters aren't very likable. The supposedly strong FL isn't really strong, and she spends two-thirds of the drama not knowing what she wants, which is why she has the SML at her beck and call. The ML is very manipulative; he decided to drag the FL into his revenge from episode 2, constantly using and manipulating her. From episode 23 (when they go to look for the brothers in the mountains) or thereabouts, the story gets much more interesting. The older characters are much more interesting, as is the previous generation. Keeping the hooded man a secret wasn't necessary; it's known from episode 3 or 4. I don't know why all the mystery was there. The clothes are ugly, but the sets and locations are very beautiful. I liked the ending the last 7 minutes, but not so much the story's development. They also cut out many scenes I would have liked to see because they were like story climaxes, especially battles, and then they just recounted what happened instead of showing it. 7 out of 10 for me
Great cast, but i really disliked the plot and the characters were kind of annoying and over the top, i spent three months trying to watch this drama only finished because i liked the actors and the action scenes were well made, but uff. 7 out 10
Eh, the first 16 episodes i tought this was going to be the drama of the year, but then in episode 18 it went like really bad, after that the drama switch over and over, like first 17 episodes is a 10 out of 10, from 18 to 26 is really weird just suffering, from 26 to 30 is good again, from 30 to 40 is weird again but with some great parts, the other life scene at the end is the weirdest thing of all. I got a lot of things to say: 1. I give this drama a 9 out 10, i loved the cast, the main plot and the subplots, the music, the cinematography, the OST. 2. All the couples had really good chemestry even the two kids. 3. I loved that is not a typical plot and also that had some good comedy in it. 4. It held my interest for almost the entire drama Now on the other hand: 5. Scenes that seemed to be quite important to the plot were cut, like a ton of them, Instead, they just explain what happened afterward, but I've seen this a lot lately in Chinese costume dramas. The same thing happens in Generation to Generation, and for me, as someone who's very focused on the story the drama tells, it really bothers me when they don't develop the scene, especially if they're important, they cut and just describe what happened, but they never actually show it. So i blame the directors for this. 6. Some errors like in the Dam, the said that they need half of the people but those persons were killed and still the they blew up the dam, like how? Couldn't just leave all the people there leave and live? Or when Chang Yu said to Qian Qian that they were going to back to Lin An and the next scene is Qian Qian behind the emperor, i think maybe is a edition problem 7. The ending was weird, it's ok but not good, the Chang Yu's hallucination of seeing all the dead people welcoming her back in Lin An made me think she had only returned after everyone had died, but no, it was just that scene. 8. I'm sad that she didn't kill pigs (the animals not the persons) at the end. Anyways is really worth watching for many reasons.
I'm on episode 6, and here are some things I've noticed so far: the acting is REALLY bad, and it's not just the actors' fault—the directors are also to blame., they review the scenes and still choose to include those takes in the final edit. The plot tries to be "complicated," but it's actually quite simple, at least so far. The characters are both super strong and very dumb; only the main characters seem smart. The costumes don't match the beauty of the locations. So here is my question, In which episode does the story start to get good? I really hope is not another chinese drama that i'll drop.
Episodes 1 to 25 were really good, characters are really nice and the story has a good pace for me 9 out 10. However eps 26 to 32 were really really bad for me 5 out 10 in general i disliked everything about the resolution of the main conflicts. So i guess i will give to this drama 8 out 10.
I have seen several of this actors in main roles, for example my first drama back then Lee Chung Ah and Jung Il Woo (Flower Boy Ramyun Shop); Lee Sang Yi in BloodHounds; Kim Do Hoon debuted as the main lead in his webseries; and Kim Ji Hoon? He was the main lead in several dramas like check their roles he has at least 10 dramas were he is the lead, and at least 6 were he is the MAIN MAIN, Other names like Kwon Yul, Lee Soo Hyuk, Kwak Dong Yeon, Yoon Pak also hashad some main roles.
First episode is OK, i'm watching because i like all the actors and 'fantasy' is my favourite genre. By the way the OST playing at the end of the episode kind of sounds like Yoari (Kang Mi Jin) she also sang 'True' in My Deamon OST, i think is her, so waiting for the official realease of this OST.
good cast even the controlling gf who ruined the show?
Cast= Actors Characters =Production and/or Writers I like the actress but the characters are no so likeble just like the main character Sang Ung at the beggining is really annoying, the gf is really dumb during 6 out 8 episodes. I don't think her character ruined the show, i think the main problem is the holes in every episode, they don't pay attention (The production) to details and it's clear they want to leave it 'webtoon style' but that doesn't work in dramas; it just looks like they didn't want to explain things or like they didn't think the scenes would look like mistakes.
Good cast and main plot, but everything else was so meh, every episode is more dumber than the one before and filled with plot holes and scenes that they don't show very anti climatic, however the ending was good. 7.5 out 10
Just like any action korean movie. Don't expect a brilliant story; expect action, entertainment, and gore. It's a short and easy-to-watch series. It also features many handsome men, as well as supporting actors who are well-known for other dramas. 8 out of 10.
I appreciate that it's a different kind of drama. I like that the protagonists aren't the typical good and/or perfect people. On the contrary, I like the way the characters are presented and how they change as they develop. However, I didn't like the drama's structure. That part is very typical of any adapted drama; they try to recreate the webtoon scenes and skip over things that should have happened for those scenes to occur. So, for me, the adaptation falls short, as they try too hard to make a live-action version, and many scenes are very exaggerated, while others don't make sense. Things I liked: The actors. In general, the roles of the main cast must have been extremely demanding for them. The OST was very pleasant, as was the cinematography. By the way, so many handsome guys, but most of them were crazy, haha. Overall, it was entertaining, but I think she deserved to die in the ending. 8 out of 10.
