a few bls, like this one, have been releasing 2 episodes a week. is this a new trend that will be starting? how will it affect production? i am not complaining but i just find it interesting.
Well, I love this special ep! I think it did wrap things up nicely. However, I don't know how I got It in my head that there would be a second season but it got there and I am disappointed a bit. I think even if it was just a few episodes I would have been fine with that. I think it would have been nice to see how Jiang Chi interacted with the ghost and how it affected him and how he relied on Bu Xia through all of it. That would have strengthened the story and their bond more.
That being said though, I love how this explores the difference in how Jiang Chi and Bu Xia think when it comes to taking care of one another. Bu Xia explains how everyone around him since he was a kid has always taken care of him and spoiled him and now Jiang Chi is on that list of people. But Bu Xia feels burdened by this because he wants to stand on his own two feet and be the one to take care of Jiang Chi too. He wants to be on equal standing with Jiang Chi but Jiang Chi is so well accomplished whereas everything Bu Xia has was given to him. So he fears that Jiang Chi will find someone better than him but Jiang Chi assures him that that will never happen.
On top of that, Bu Xia finds out that Jiang Chi had his sister change the characters (I would love it if someone who knows more about how this works can explain what this means) of Jiang Chi so that he can take on hearing the voices instead of Bu Xia. It worries him because he knows how much Jiang Chi has on his plate with exams and his own family not supporting him (something a second season could have flushed out more).
Then the issue with Bu Xia wanting to go on a trip but when Jiang Chi tries to do that Bu Xia always says no so Jiang Chi has to have the apprentices lie for him.
Then after all that, when they do go on the trip and Jiang Chi does the suit and apple tree surprise because Bu Xia's sister said that it is what Bu Xia wanted only for Bu Xia to get upset and walk away only to come back in a suit of his own and those rings because he wanted to do the suit suprise for Jiang Chi and his sister did not understand that.
In the end, they come to understand each other a lot more and where they are coming from, and how best to move past everything together.
This whole ep is about them both trying to understand each other and I love that!
What I would have loved to see more though is Bu Xia overcoming his insecurities and becoming that person who doesn't feel inadequate to Jiang Chi and also learns to accept Jiang Chi's affections even if it means spoiling Bu Xia a little.
I would have liked to have seen Jiang Chi rely a little more on Bu Xia to help him with the ghost voices and how to deal with them. I think this would have been a really nice bit of drama and stress on Jiang Chi along with his family issues that coukd have broken Jiang Chi a little and then Bu Xia would help him get himself back together. This woukd help Bu Xia feel like he can final be the one Jiang Chi needs help from.
The only thing I disliked besides the special ep feeling rushed was the beginning of this ep. The basketball team's last meet scene felt unneeded. They could have cut that out and started from one year later. I don't think it was needed to have that greenscreen ghost since they never did that in the first season. Also, the two of them having that conversation about their tempers could have been done after walking back from the meet, not in front of the team. I felt that there should have been more of a private talk between them. That whole scene was like a therapy session with the team (really the captain and Bu Xia's one friend) being the therapist. Just didn't sit right.
Also, I think Jiang Chi handling Bu Xia when he tried to drink something cold or when the apprentices showed up and Bu Xia went in for a hug but Jiang Chi tried to take him back was too rough. Jiang Chi was a lot smoother in the first season. It really seems too aggress for him to have done all that extra.
I knew it...I knew it the moment Ming first looked at the screen.
Stupid Ming.
Over there falling for a man who wasn't even the man he truly loved only to end up being in the arms of the man he actually was in love with but then break those arms for the same man who he thought he loved.
Again, STUPID MING!
And I am going to need Tong, Ming (but he can get it two times to Sunday) and that Tharn to line up and take this beaten I am going to give them for hurting my dear Joe! I mean WTF!!!!
He was just a sweet guy living his life until he had to meet Ming who ruins his life and then when he gets a second chance he walks right back into the same CRAP!
And I am also going to need whatever wind that blew Tharn in to blow his butt right back because before the accident Joe did not need him then and post-accident Joe doesn't need him at all! (to clarify here, I mean the Joe the Stand-In Joe is currently in)
The only people Joe needs are Wut, his Momma, and Sol!
But seriously... Up. My guy, My dude, THE ACTING CHOPS! He and Poom both deserve every last acting award in the world! They are soooo good!
This show has been a whirlwind! I love it! I am an ansity type of girl! Love all the ups and downs like this! But I am hating this EP though because it is making me wish for the next to see how Ming will be true Joe.
And he better be respecting him quickly or else!!!!!🤬👿
Am I a little early in saying that it is giving me "I Feel You Linger in the Air" vibes as far as acting and feeling go? Loved the passionate tension that was felt in IFYLITA. But the tension here?
Very palpable!!! Even more so then LFYLITA's first EP!!!
Will this be the slow burn I have been hoping for? I hope so!!!!
Ugh, going to have to give this one a chance to breathe so that I can binge it later on. I just hope that this doesn't disappoint.
So for me...I am hoping that these two can get a good script. I like LeeFrank both together and separately. But these last productions have been..well interesting. I won't say much about it though especially the comedy one since from what I have read in the comment section that that is a type of comedy that Thai people like with the dubbing and all that. Me, I just muted it and was fine watching the show that way but as far as the script...yeah no for me. But again, I like Lee and Frank still. They are great actors who just need a good script to go with it. I pray that this one is the one. I love vamps and I think they both could be good as one but I just hope the writing can support them and their talents.
If I ever go back to this show....I am just watching ep 12 only. Not saying that this show didn't have a nice start but after ep 10 or so...I just can't. 12 was nice only because I liked how they ended it but not because of the story. Just the scenes were nice. I think they should have gone deeper with Zee and yeah Sprite should have been found out by 9 or 10. I want to like this because I liked the concept but I just couldn't.
So I watched this a while ago and I did love it at first but then as it went on it turned to like. I think one of the reason for this was because of the story's version of soul mates. Soul mates as so suppose to be those who share a bound that is unbreakable. they are so perfect that they fit even better then puzzle pieces.
This show does not do this well.
They use the fact that certain people are able to lose hearing when it rains but can hear the voice of another person as them being soul mates but really this does not hold water in my book.
The parents in the show were two people that hear each other in the rain when loosing their hearing and become soul mates and got married and had kids all to divorce only because the other was addicted to working and the father, Warun, wanted her to spend more time with the family. The is one of the most command reasons people split up for but for me this sinks that concept of them being soul mates then. This is because the mother being career oriented and the father being family oriented seems too different to be two people who are soul mates.
Soul Mate theory is defined by google as one soul that has been split into two and appears in two humans. Two separate people but one soul. That would mean then that if one partner is family orientated and values spending time with family more then working then the other partner will feel the same way. This is what makes Soul Mates so different. If you break from this then it becomes something that is just a normal relationship.
Now this is not to say that Soul Mates can't be different but those differences should also work well with the other too. Peanut Butter is different then jam but they go together. Chocolate and caramel. Sweat and Sour. All different but all working together to make something great. But the parents are nothing like this too me. They feel like a normal couple and there for nothing special.
.....SPOILER HERE......
This leads me to, then, the hearing lose. Ok, so yes, it is a very unique concept, but it looses that uniqueness when Lomfon's theory was provide right. It is not that you are hearing your "soul mate" but that for whatever reason your hearing can hear at a higher frequency then others and so you are able to hear the other person because of this. I will also add that there are different layers of frequencies which makes it so that only certain people can hear on that layer or level of frequency, Hence why someone can hear others. It also makes hearing more then one person rarer which give the illusion that its because they are soul mates. This cheapness the idea of Soul Mates or blows the theory of Soul Mates through frequency out of the water.
Now to save this they could have let Lomfon be wrong and just left it as is but they did not and now that story loose that spark it once with that concept and just turns this story back into an ordinary romance story between two people. And not only that but as the show goes on you start to see this theory of Soul Mate through frequency break down even more when Lomfon starts to hear both Tai and Phat's voice in the mountains when it rains while there with Thian, Tai's little brother, and then at the very end Thian starts to lose his hearing during the rain for the first time and hears someone's voice that is not Lomfon's and the show ends there.
In this case, if you are just going to disprove this theory then what is the purpose of this hearing lose concept then? Also if this concept really didn't rely on Soul Mates in the first place but was a way to make us and the main characters realize something deeper then that, why have Thian lose his hearing in the rain and hear someone else's voice at then end like that?
....END OF SPOILER HERE.....
I think I might have missed the point to this show/story and I will have to go back to see what I missed.
But I love the concept of soul mates and I believe this is the first time I have watched a show that ventured in to that concept but I wish they had done this better. I really need a show that really does Soul Mate theory well. I want to feel like these to where made for each other and not just normal lovers.
Though I will state here that Tai and Phat and Thian and Lomfon all felt like soul mates with their chemistry between each other. Just wish the concept held up.
Other then this I do like the story. I also do like the family dynamic and how the mother and father handled their own situation with being divorced but staying connected to check on the kids and each other as friends. I also like how they bother helped Tai with his own issues with them separating even though they were soul mates.
Just wish they gave a better version of soul mates.
They needed to be with someone that was the most compatible to them for Soul Mate theory to work. Now I am all for soul mate stories with a dose of reality in it for sure but make it something that doesn't have to do with compatibility issues. Make it about actions taken that strains the relationship. A mistake that causes too much pressure on the couple. Something that
Honestly I started this yesterday knowing about all the bad comments, so I went with low expectations. But it's…
I agree with this as well. the hyper over active personality, not very good at picking up a person's emotions well (not able to see that Mai likes him), being weird, awkward and hard to understand around others, seems childish/childlike. Yeah he is most definitely autistic. I am happy to see this. We have both this and Last Twilight that deal with things like this and I want to see more.
i am not complaining but i just find it interesting.
...Only me?
Cool
Love them so much!!!!
