so every episode is a different...alternative worlds' story? i hope the mechanics of this story are explained soon. but i thought, ep one was ok, i liked it but i feel the delivery boy wasn't acting well enough...then Top pulled the CEO ep off so well...like really!
i also feel the same about Mick too! he did better with his roll as the secretary, but i wonder if in the next story we will start to see one of them, i hope it's top's character, start to realize what is happening between them as far as falling in love in different alternative worlds. this type of concept is a cliche, not that i mind, everything is a cliche and that's ok, but i like the twist here of them not being awhere of it, but now they've got to break it somehow by letting them realize slowly, or one of them realize it, that they are falling in love in different alternative worlds and start figering out why.
this is like the one shot mangas i use to read but with the same two faces. its really good but again they have to break this some how and add an supernatural element like in century of love or a scientific element. just something to add to this story. i think it would be a tad boring to leave it as just a one shot each ep.
i will say though that if they kept doing it then keep the pacing chops from this ep! i think for a short story this was perfect. i dont think anything was rushed. i do think the EX CEO giving her speech and the becoming the "janitor" was a tad unbelievable since we and the staff all saw her face. It could be fixed a bit with a year or 2 time jump but still its just a little bit unbelievable and slopy.
over all i loved ep 2 and can't wait for ep 3. i hope though that my happiness doesn't fade off like it does when i am this happy with an start to a show like some have...i am looking at you, la pluie. so loved it until evetything fell off somewhere.
anyway, love this and can't wait to see what happens next.
Dont get me wrong cause i love the show and i love YinWar, but the very long run time of each episodes is hurting…
this might be true but i would rather have it then short 30 to 40 minute eps with bad pacing. i hate when the ep only shows a little bit of the story at a time because of short run times. then you have to wait a week to get even more of a little bit of the story. annoying!
Soooo. i guess i am in the camp of...i like this. BUT i feel like this is a first draft of something. it needs some polish for sure. i also agree i would love to see more adult actors doing these things. I think they would give off more of a real boss/assistant vibs. i like, though, how they do the moments where elis's mind goes wild when alone with the assistant. i feel like that isnt done at all in bls and i love when you can feel the tension between the charactors. also love that moment in episide one where elis pulls in Pat. i want more of these small moments of desire. this is slow burn for me, just moments of intense but small desire until it becomes overwhelming. i neeeeed this to be a trend. no more ep one or two and they are doing it already. draaaaag it out more and make the charactors want it until they lose all control...by ep 6 or so. But i will still say that this show feels first drafty and i get there is chemistry with the actors but its not enough. i need actors that have known and or have worked with each other for a long time and you can tell. it will also help with making it believable that these two have been working on this business for a long time.
i will also say that FINALLY, an actor did this right! the way pat reacted like his heart was going to jump out of his chest in ep 3 was perfect! i need more reactions like this because it makes it more relatiable and shows how much Pat is hiding. i
Now on to the thing i hate....what are they trying to do here, make Pat jealous while watching elis take in his "appointments"? i feel like its not landing well. something there needs to change and im not sure if its the actors acting or director's direction that needs to make that change. Either or like i said, this is very first drafty. Good bones but it still needs work.
Finally after almost a month long break we have Q4!!
i say take your time. i want this show badly but if this is what it takes to make it great then so be it. BUT GMTV BETTER BRING IT! I dont want to be waiting forever just to get junk.
i dont know...i want to like this show so much but the story doesnt have a direction it feels like. i mean Shan has been looking for Ob-un and yet there is not hint to why. they had that scene where Ob-un knocks on the windo and then Shan knocks on something too in response. it felt like Shan was reaveling something but it goes no futher then that. i do love the story the writers are writing but it too seems to not have a direct unless i missed something. also the show is called BATTLE of the writers....where is the battle part?i just need this story to go somewhere. i mean the trailer had so much promis but once again i have fallen for the trailer but am left hanging by the show.🥺ðŸ˜
Yeah, I'm really excited that we're finally getting vampire shows in BL, but I don't want slice-of-life with a…
THANK YOU!!!! Mike Angelo's Vamp is EVERYTHING I WANT IN A VAMP SERIES!!!! I hope it's as good as the trailer. I am tired of pilot trailers being great and then the show doesn't air until a few months to a year and then becomes ok or bad. I reeeeeeally need something that will actually be as good or even BETTER then the trailer.
when are we going to get 1 hour long eps again? im tired of getting short eps that only show just a little bit of the story. And really, its the pacing. i've been watching midnight museum and they had eps that are 39 minutes and they all felt like an hour because the pacing was good. Can these creators of these shows please stop leaving us with so littke story every ep? or they could at lest make the eps air twice a week. just give us more then this!!!!!!! Waiting for it to get to the meat of the story every week is annoying!!!!
I love watching series as they air cause it's an experience being able to talk with everyone in the comments about…
i am liking though that some shows are airing twice a week now. i dont mind that as long as its not affecting acting, plot, and production which for the shows that are doing this hasn't been the case. Now to get my high fantasy, 1 hour long, 12 ep plus bl and i will be golden.
a few bls, like this one, have been releasing 2 episodes a week. is this a new trend that will be starting? how will it affect production? i am not complaining but i just find it interesting.
Well, I love this special ep! I think it did wrap things up nicely. However, I don't know how I got It in my head that there would be a second season but it got there and I am disappointed a bit. I think even if it was just a few episodes I would have been fine with that. I think it would have been nice to see how Jiang Chi interacted with the ghost and how it affected him and how he relied on Bu Xia through all of it. That would have strengthened the story and their bond more.
That being said though, I love how this explores the difference in how Jiang Chi and Bu Xia think when it comes to taking care of one another. Bu Xia explains how everyone around him since he was a kid has always taken care of him and spoiled him and now Jiang Chi is on that list of people. But Bu Xia feels burdened by this because he wants to stand on his own two feet and be the one to take care of Jiang Chi too. He wants to be on equal standing with Jiang Chi but Jiang Chi is so well accomplished whereas everything Bu Xia has was given to him. So he fears that Jiang Chi will find someone better than him but Jiang Chi assures him that that will never happen.
On top of that, Bu Xia finds out that Jiang Chi had his sister change the characters (I would love it if someone who knows more about how this works can explain what this means) of Jiang Chi so that he can take on hearing the voices instead of Bu Xia. It worries him because he knows how much Jiang Chi has on his plate with exams and his own family not supporting him (something a second season could have flushed out more).
Then the issue with Bu Xia wanting to go on a trip but when Jiang Chi tries to do that Bu Xia always says no so Jiang Chi has to have the apprentices lie for him.
Then after all that, when they do go on the trip and Jiang Chi does the suit and apple tree surprise because Bu Xia's sister said that it is what Bu Xia wanted only for Bu Xia to get upset and walk away only to come back in a suit of his own and those rings because he wanted to do the suit suprise for Jiang Chi and his sister did not understand that.
In the end, they come to understand each other a lot more and where they are coming from, and how best to move past everything together.
This whole ep is about them both trying to understand each other and I love that!
What I would have loved to see more though is Bu Xia overcoming his insecurities and becoming that person who doesn't feel inadequate to Jiang Chi and also learns to accept Jiang Chi's affections even if it means spoiling Bu Xia a little.
I would have liked to have seen Jiang Chi rely a little more on Bu Xia to help him with the ghost voices and how to deal with them. I think this would have been a really nice bit of drama and stress on Jiang Chi along with his family issues that coukd have broken Jiang Chi a little and then Bu Xia would help him get himself back together. This woukd help Bu Xia feel like he can final be the one Jiang Chi needs help from.
The only thing I disliked besides the special ep feeling rushed was the beginning of this ep. The basketball team's last meet scene felt unneeded. They could have cut that out and started from one year later. I don't think it was needed to have that greenscreen ghost since they never did that in the first season. Also, the two of them having that conversation about their tempers could have been done after walking back from the meet, not in front of the team. I felt that there should have been more of a private talk between them. That whole scene was like a therapy session with the team (really the captain and Bu Xia's one friend) being the therapist. Just didn't sit right.
Also, I think Jiang Chi handling Bu Xia when he tried to drink something cold or when the apprentices showed up and Bu Xia went in for a hug but Jiang Chi tried to take him back was too rough. Jiang Chi was a lot smoother in the first season. It really seems too aggress for him to have done all that extra.

Please, oh please, oh please do not shorten the eps, BL gods!!!!!
i also love this first start. please, please, please, keep this momentum so i can stay addicted and not fizzle out!!!!
just give us more then this!!!!!!! Waiting for it to get to the meat of the story every week is annoying!!!!
i am not complaining but i just find it interesting.
...Only me?
Cool
Love them so much!!!!
