What I hope is Bad Buddy will also make the whole BL industry (and yes, especially GMM) to up their game in producing BL series.
More quality show, less cliche (and less tropes without proper place in the story) and casting actors that actually has good chemistry or match to the character. More emphasis on the story, cinematography and overall quality rather than just depending on actors' good looks alone.
That is what I hope for. Bad Buddy should not be just popular on its own, but make everything better for future series too.
OK, I'm probably going to get so much hate-replies from 2Gether fans, but let's just say I never fully understood…
Thanks for the sharing.
To me, Bad Buddy not having the kind of views that 2gether got is actually fine. I am already more than happy to see the excitement among all the viewers here in MDL and elsewhere.
And yes, the story in the original novel (titled Behind the Curtain/Behind the Scene) is already very intriguing and different from typical BL stories.
Then, this series' interpretation of the story is probably even better than the novel's in that sense (as mentioned clearly above by TheGORJUSMARSH). It is a fresh air and something I would even say, revolutionary to the BL drama industry!
I hope that Bad Buddy will continue to impress us right to the last episode. Fingers crossed!

No problem! Glad to share!
I agree with you. It should be one of the top BL/GMMTV show. And I mentioned earlier that GMM really should go all out to promote Bad Buddy just as how they went all out (in a way) to promote 2gether, even up to now.
2gether the Movie has been airing since 11 November 2021 in Thailand, which is over 2 weeks now. I hope that in one or two weeks' time, they'll change their YouTube banner from 2gether the Movie to Bad Buddy.
There are other shows also running at the same time, like Baker Boys, which is not a problem since it doesn't clash with Bad Buddy in terms of timing. But if GMM wants to make Bad Buddy really successful, then they have to do more (just my opinion).
I am reading many comments about Bad buddy being almost equally famous as 2gether the series but not as much and…
It was ok, and I think as some others mentioned here, the opinion about it is rather mixed. A lot of people liked it, and some find it getting disappointing towards the end. Some dislike it.
That's why its rating is hovering around 7.9 here in MDL (as compared to Bad Buddy's 8.6 now)
It was a phenomenon of its time, helped by forces beyond our and many people's control. The pandemic gave them a big boost, and Bright's controversy at that time (you can easily find out what the controversy is) actually in my opinion helped the series to do better in China (as opposed to the Chinese claims that it hurt 2gether's popularity).
If you read on, it also helped create the so-called 'Milk Tea Alliance' between netizens in Thailand, HK and Taiwan and some people might have been drawn to watch 2gether partly because of this. It made 2gether even more popular that way. I remember at that time seeing a lot of tweets of 2gether linked with this.

For comparison, the culmination of Pete-Kao story in Dark Blue Kiss (from Kiss and Kiss Me Again), which came out 3-4 months earlier than 2gether, 2 years ago, had one-third of 2gether's total views.
And don't forget that Tay-New is one of GMM's 'Holy Trinity', and the Sun-Mork second couple there (in DBK) also had quite a fair number of fans too.

I think 2gether still got more views, and as of now, only 1.5 years on, the episode 1 and 10 alone have 60 million views overall each, more than twice of the entire Bad Buddy's 5 episodes (around 25 million now). Average is around 43 million per episode for the 13 episodes of 2gether.
In the days, weeks and months to come, more will come to watch Bad Buddy for sure, but I am of the opinion that they should at least come close to 2gether, or at least one of the top viewed GMM and other company's BL series. (I honestly think 2gether is unique and hard to be matched by pure views only, as even top, most memorable BL series from past years with more years than 2gether are still below it as of this point.)
Here are some of the data I compiled on recent and not-so-recent Thai BL series with relatively large number of views (some not fully updated yet) - all for YouTube only
(For all episodes combined)
2gether (not including the sequel) - 550,000,000+ views Still 2gether (2gether sequel) - 140,000,000+ views Dark Blue Kiss - more than 180,000,000 views Love By Chance - 300,000,000++ views SOTUS - close to 350,000,000 views SOTUS S - around or more than 190,000,000 views Until We Meet Again - at least 260,000,000 views Waterboyy the Series - at least 120,000,000 views Fish Upon the Sky - around 80,000,000+ views 1000 Stars - 80,000,000++ views (more than Fish Upon the Sky) 2 Moons 2 (second season only) - 165,000,000+ views Oxygen the Series - around 80,000,000 views
(Note: Some of these series have been out for many years, like SOTUS for example, so it does have advantage in getting additional views)
I want to know if all the popular shows also had 1M views in one day or even more than that? Can somebody please…
Agree with you, but somehow many find Bright and Win very appealing/attractive. They are not wrong of course, but I still think Ohm and Nanon did better!
To those who love small details, I hope I was not the only one who noticed the sad (:( tag on Pran’s door when Pat was knocking on it, just before the rooftop scene?
This is one aspect P'Aof carried over well from the novel to the series.

And judging on the comments so far, we'll go beyond 5000 comments for sure by next Friday!
(Average 600,000 views per part in YouTube)
And I believe it will remain the top in WeTV too, until the end of the entire series!
Let's spread the word and make Bad Buddy more known :D
I don't think it got low rating in Thailand. TV rating maybe, but that's because most people watched it on streaming.
Just six hours or so from the complete release, it’s been viewed by average almost 500,000 times in YouTube per part (total close to 2 million now)!
It was so memorable!
Woke up too early and this comment section is still on fire! Close to 4000 comments now!
