Those who saw Ohm and Nanon's IG story earlier today, they seemed to be in a recording studio. Is Nanon going to sing a new song (as seen in the preview for EP 5)?
Looking forward to EP 5, just under 24 hours to go!
Immortality hasn't even aired yet and that has 30,000 comments. ππ I can't imagine the chaos after it does…
Recent news from China is also not that good, as the government in a very public way has been reining in the entertainment industry and been stricter in their guidelines and screening. And if we remember Addicted back in early 2016, we all know what a heartbreak it came to be.
Immortality hasn't even aired yet and that has 30,000 comments. ππ I can't imagine the chaos after it does…
I found out about it thanks to all of you. It seems to be caused by the extremely popular novel it is to be adapted from (and many seems to have read the translations too).
Considering that it's a Chinese drama (and one like The Untamed), it likely has a lot of viewers and people here waiting for it. In a sense, it's like an even much bigger scale of expectation than Bad Buddy. (coz seems that it's been almost 2 years and no news of release yet - at least we got Bad Buddy in less than year after first announcement)
Based on my observation, all the top dramas are either Korean or Chinese in MDL. The number of viewers and commenters are usually very high, far exceeding even the top Thai ones.
I know itβs obvious but Thai bls are very popular and gmmtv knows that so they create only one time slot per…
I just feel that GMMTV should change their cover in YouTube to Bad Buddy in December after the 2gether the Movie has completed airing (it started airing on 11 November in Thailand).
I know 2gether is their most successful BL series ever and probably one of the most watched one, but after that movie is done, I hope they can go all out and support Bad Buddy! It has the potential to be the next big one :D
Anyway, we are almost at 3500 comments mark as of now. Considering that it was around 2700 on Friday night last week, if we have 800+ comments per episode like this going on, we are going to exceed 10000 comments by the finale (likely even more if the series gets even better towards the end!)
I only know The Untamed (expected in its epicness!) as the BL series that has more than 10000 comments here in MDL. Maybe one or two more others (that I may have missed). Hope Bad Buddy can eventually reach that milestone! (Note: Actually very few series have more than 10000 comments, including non-BL ones)
It shows that the plot, storyline and the characters are very interesting, deep and elicit a lot of different thoughts. That's why so many analysis, comments, and thoughts below (which are overwhelmingly positive).
While we are excitedly waiting for EP 5 tomorrow, just want to share a little that in the novel version, Pat did become jealous of the interactions between Pran and Wai, and thought of him as an obstacle in their relationship.
I was kind of just feeling that in EP 4, during that rugby match, when Pran was hurt by Korn and Pat immediately went to him afterwards after confronting Korn, Wai stood between him and Pran. To me, this signalled to Pat that while he wants to be close to Pran, and to be the (special one) to care for him, but there are many obstacles to overcome (yes, including Wai).
It may not be that obvious, but as many of us pointed out rightly that Pran has a lot going inside his mind (especially that painful bed scene at the end of EP 4), actually I would say that Pat was also going through something similar (though maybe more subtle and unconscious in his case, since he isn't the contemplative type).
Part of the reason why he was pursuing Ink, as some others mentioned below, is probably because he was still unsure, and part of his heteronormative upbringing, plus the difficulty of coming together with Pran contributed to that.
I hope EP 5 will begin to resolve these and bring Pat and Pran closer than ever before!!
"I thought you said you liked someone in Architecture" Some fans are speculating that Korn said this because he's…
Agreed. Their behaviours, especially Pat's are definitely quite obvious to their group members. Wai is quite perceptive, and although Pran is better at hiding his acts, I am sure he would have noticed too.
Korn may be the less perceptive and dense one compared to Wai, but Pat's obvious actions (of him unconsciously falling for Pran) can't have escaped notice!
Halfway through the week now to Friday. I am sure most of us here can't wait for EP 5!Been rewatching the trailer…
And if we all got fooled by EP 4 preview. I hope we'll get fooled by EP 5 preview too!
Means that I hope that in the scene where Pat and Pran seems to be arguing, and then later on when Pat asks 'If we are not enemies, then can we be friends?', he actually asks him to be his boyfriend instead!
Halfway through the week now to Friday. I am sure most of us here can't wait for EP 5!
Been rewatching the trailer and ending scenes again. I really can't wait for the Pat-Pran relationship to go to the lovey-dovey stage! Will EP 5 be this real turning point?? I am sure these are the questions we are all having in our minds...
And director, please tone down on the angst ok? Hope the parents won't be too harsh on them. The novel version was really painful (but still amazing to read).
https://twitter.com/world_of_bl_com/status/1462813271875014669/photo/1Bad Buddy's overnight TV rating for EP 4…
One advantage of watching on WeTV is that it shows the entire episode without being divided into four parts.
However, at least in Singapore, I cannot see it from there, and I have to use VPN to change my IP to Thailand before I can watch it on WeTV - and there is no subtitle at all.
On a side note: Anyone here are experts in TV ratings? How do you properly calculate the TV rating and what does 0.131 or 0.058 means? Can it be converted to number of (potential) viewers? (Assuming we know the number of TV sets in Thailand)
Bad Buddy's overnight TV rating for EP 4 is out. Sadly, it is a low for the series at just 0.058 (compared to EP 3's 0.131).
But note that it was Loy Krathong festival exactly on Friday, 19 November 2021. Lay Krathong is widely celebrated in Thailand, and that evening, many people would have been out to celebrate. Thus, many would have missed out on the TV broadcast of EP 4. (The earlier timing of the broadcast there at 8.30 pm did not help either.)
Very unfortunate timing as we also know that Safe House was also airing at the same time, and might have distracted some from viewing EP 4. I just hope that since Bad Buddy is also airing in WeTV in Thailand (the YouTube episodes cannot be seen in Thailand), those who missed EP4 on TV due to Lay Krathong and other reasons turned to WeTV to watch. WeTV do not have view statistics, so we don't know how popular it was there.
I don't like GMM productions in general. Generally, they don't worry enough about technical issues (photography,…
I totally agree with your comment on the GMMTV series and shows. Well, unfortunately (or fortunately also), Bad Buddy being produced and aired by GMMTV does boost its viewership considering it's the BL series superpower in Thailand (with only Studio Wabi Sabi probably posing a challenge to them).
There are some other good Thai series out there that didn't enjoy the same popularity just because they were not produced, aired and supported by the major production companies like GMMTV.

In the novel, they get together around 40% into the story, so in the series, it may be soon too!
(As of Tuesday, 23 November 2021 at 11 am Singapore time)
EP 1 - 5,950,000
EP 2 - 4,850,000
EP 3 - 4,600,000
EP 4 - 3,600,000
(EP 4 is in fact the best performing one thus far)
Total - about 19,000,000
