I guess much like what the show hinted at on The Little Prince, our interpretation will change as we age. I guess…
Well written! I have exactly the same thoughts as you regarding all the complexities of any possible endings. No ending will be perfect or all happy regardless what happened.
And in reality, things often do not turn out well. A lot of people are suffering even worse fates than what Nut, Tofu and Tarn, and their families experienced. Compared to all that, the ending of this series is already far happier than what others experienced in real life.
Justice for Tofu.. I just switched my rating from a 9 to a 5 to a 4... lol
I appreciate your thoughts for Tofu, and I know many are feeling down or even angry at the moment.
But let us take some time to reflect on the journey this series has brought us. If we really appreciate and like Tofu as a character, then it's the last thing we should do to downrate this series without carefully considering how this series at every stages and opportunities had been breaking barriers and bringing to the audience numerous topics that many other series were often afraid/failed to address.
True justice for Tofu is for us to understand that he manages to learn to love, and he loves Nut, and that love is reciprocated as shown in the end of EP 16 (Nut and Tofu loves each other, and nothing changes that).
Of course you are entitled to keep your thoughts and decision to rate this series down, but I invite you and others to look at the series (and the ending) later on, with different perspectives.
I expected it as well. And the ending isn't necessarily a bad one as what many thought it is on the surface.Tofu…
I don't really want to link it to Jan and Saen, but people who are 'married' to each other doesn't necessarily love each other. Of course Nut loves Tarn in some way (unlike Jan and Saen's loveless marriage), but I believe his love for Tofu is greater.
(The way Saen and Na still loved each other after all the many years)
After all, who did Nut hug passionately in the very end of the series? Is it Tarn? No. It's Tofu.
He may be a teddy bear, but is it the physical human-human connection that matters? It is the heart-to-heart connection that matters.
Love is love, and if love is strong enough, it will endure to the end of time. If they are not having any continuation of the story, I can see Nut loving Tofu till the end of his life, and Tofu is there for him, with him, regardless what form he is in. Nut will probably love Tarn too in a different way, but I believe in Nut's love for Tofu.
Does the tearful song he sang for Tofu (when he was looking at his picture) count for nothing? That's how much Nut loves Tofu (and Tofu's love for Nut is already proven enough by his sacrifice), and they found their way back to each other ('Until We Meet Again'), being truly happy (not in the way that we may expect, but Nut is VERY happy (and so is Tofu).
I expected it as well. And the ending isn't necessarily a bad one as what many thought it is on the surface.Tofu…
That's assuming Tarn gets back together with Nut. It doesn't necessarily happen. Nut himself said to Tarn that he loved Tofu, and Tarn doesn't mind it. They may be together, but in Nut's heart, Tofu is more than Tarn, and Tofu is his true love.
Tofu is and will always be Nut's love. And as the audience, we have this great benefit of seeing Tofu as that human form superimposed on his teddy bear form being hugged by Nut in the end. They are together. It is already highly implied there.
It's a realistic show with a dribble of fiction after all. So why not?
Hi all, just wanna say that as realistic as this series is, there is that dribble of the magical and supernatural in the 'miracle' of the teddy bear in the first place.
So, if a teddy bear can turn into a human (and then turn back into teddy bear again), then why can't a person love another even though his significant other may be a teddy bear? It's a realistic show after all, with a dribble of fiction.
(And hence, you can even say, it's a happy ending once Nut found Tofu once again, even in teddy bear form - the entire final part basically shows that)
I was totally ready for this ending , I will write my final review on this drama after watching the last ep but…
I expected it as well. And the ending isn't necessarily a bad one as what many thought it is on the surface.
Tofu and Nut are still together, and Tofu may be a teddy bear now, but Nut loves him all the same. Must Tofu be a human for Nut to love him? No. It is better, but even if he can't be human, Nut won't stop loving Tofu no?
People need to chill. This series isn't meant to be all fluff and happy, and we must not forget the amazing journey we had to this ending, all the very important messages brought across in every episodes.
And to me at least, the ending is rather open. Nut still loves Tofu, no matter what and no matter what form Tofu is in.
Nut's true love is and will always be Tofu, and that's what the final part of EP 16 shows us. It doesn't matter what form Tofu is in. Must he be a human for him to be loved by Nut?
To him, Tarn is a shadow of his past love, regardless of what he said to Tarn, but Tofu is and will always be his comfort zone, his true love. That to me, is the message that the ending brings us. He may be a teddy bear now, but Nut loves him all the same.
So is it a TofuNut ending? Well, not in the traditional way, but I can say so, at least in my POV.
I will forgive them if they do a sequel, but I’m not sure there will be one. Isn’t it their lowest rated lakorn?…
Yes, still, it's their highest rated BL/LGBT lakorn (esp. against other BL series and the backlash they experienced from TV viewers for being LGBT). So... why not?
It's whether they dare to give us a happy ending that Tofu and Nut deserve, and break free from the novel ending.
I am still just starting EP 16, but based on the snippets and spoilers I read, basically the ending is kind of open. Tarn doesn't necessarily seem to end up back with Nut again, and Tofu is ever close to Nut, with Nut knowing who Tofu is. (I may be wrong, need to watch the entire episode completely)
As I said, our minds can always go imaginative. What if another miracle happens, and Tofu returns back to be a human permanently? I dare CH3 to go and try explore this for a special (surprise) episode or something.
As usual, a substantial amount of users go berserk, lose their mind and talk bullshit. I am pissed at the ending…
Exactly, we mustn't forget all those. The ending may be heartbreaking, but is actually meaningful in some way. Nonetheless, as I said, we are always free to form up our own ending if necessary.
Tofu and Nut themselves said in earlier episodes, something about writing our own endings/writing our own ending for the story (or something like that).
I just hope CH3 isn't banking on having an ending like this (following the novel) so that they can then make a sequel, season two titled 'The Return of Teddy Bear'.
Well, if they do make Tofu and Nut to have a truly happy ending after everything, I honestly don't mind.
Hi all, let's not forget that whatever the ending is, the journey does matter. If you don't like the ending, it's fine.
(Are we going to erase all of Tofu and Nut moments just because the story ended that way? Aren't we end up killing Tofu and Nut's relationship double, triple, quadruple time?)
We can always watch only until maybe EP 15 and then skip only to the happy moments. In the end, we viewers (just as the screenwriters) can always make our own ending. Why not?
Plus, you can end it all with the opening intro scene to make it even happier. In my mind, Tofu and Nut has a happy ending together. That's all that matters. And in my ending, Tarn did wake up and has a happy ending too, seeing Nut (very) happy with Tofu.
And in reality, things often do not turn out well. A lot of people are suffering even worse fates than what Nut, Tofu and Tarn, and their families experienced. Compared to all that, the ending of this series is already far happier than what others experienced in real life.
I saw these words in one of the reviews and am reminded of this quote.
See Nut and Tofu (at the ending) through the eyes of our hearts, not the eyes of our body.
See their genuine love for each other, them finding each other and being there for each other. Not even 'death' can separate them.
Then you can see the true ending and the true meaning of love. It's there, we just have to try harder to see it through our heart.
We must never forget the important lessons and the many wonderful moments this series and its characters have brought us.

I will probably go the route of Tofu and Nut happy ending together, while Tarn also happy because Nut is happy, and he found someone that he can love.
