If anyone has any info on the Eng sub release in YouTube (which I heard may happen later this month), do let us know. I will do the same as well, if I discover any info.
Hopefully for all those who haven’t been able to watch on Netflix Asia can finally watch it properly in YouTube. The English subtitle in Netflix is excellent, not perfect but one of the best subtitles I have seen for any Thai series.
To be honest I still feel devastated from how it all ended. I understand what people try to say that Nut still…
We the viewers interpret this ending differently based on our own different experiences. That’s the beauty of the ending. Some of us interpret it as sad, some as happy, and this is where we share our thoughts, and hope to understand each other’s POV.
And very importantly, Tofu himself approves Nut being with Tarn.
Hopefully DC edition released to address this. Better still if they release alternate ending edition.
We still have that double date scene from the episode intro! That will make a perfect alternate ending, or a special episode, where Tofu really does come back to be a human again.
Nut still wears that bracelet all the time, binding him to Tofu. And Nut may not show it as he spoke to Tarn about the teddy bear, but I am sure that Nut knows that the teddy bear is really Tofu. He was looking at Tofu at one moment, and that wasn’t accidental.
And Nut was aware that the book was moved from the box above his bookshelf to his table (by Tofu, who can still move as a teddy bear). Nut knows that the teddy bear is really his Tofu. Of course he can’t tell people that, but I can tell somehow that at least some of his close ones, Tarn included, may suspect or know about this too)
Regarding the ‘marriage’ conversation between Tarn and Nut, as others mentioned her, it was a reference to their past love and them being together. It can be openly interpreted, and again does not necessarily mean that Nut and Tarn are together (we see from Tofu’s point of view at that segment).
And Nut’s smile whenever he thinks of Tofu, shares his thoughts about Tofu? And in that dream scene when he met Tofu in human form again? Pure gold. That is what true love is. True love isn’t selfish, but selfless and freely giving (that was why Tofu voluntarily drank the poison in the first place). Their love for each other is truly immeasurable. I don’t even know how to present them in words.
While I agree with everything you wrote, it's just still sad that their roles basically reverted now: while Nut…
Yes, we will eventually lose our memories, whether earlier or later but again, that does not change the fact that our love endures, even if our memories were to fade.
Plus, I don’t think Nut’s love for Tofu is merely transferred to his memories. His heart still loved Tofu all the same. Just my thoughts. Plus, this was mentioned at the end of EP 16, repeatedly.
Nut to Tofu (in his diary) after saying in monologue that while he did miss Tarn, it didn’t mean that he didn’t love Tofu. On the contrary, his love for Tofu remains just as strong. Nut kept on communicating with Tofu through his diary, and Tofu was also aware of whatever Nut had written.
‘I miss you. I miss your voice. I miss your hugs, and your kisses.’
‘Don’t be afraid that I’ll stop loving you.’
‘I know it hurt that you couldn’t compete with Tarn, that you (Tofu) couldn’t help financially, that you (Tofu) weren’t popular like him (Tarn) (Nut knew that Tofu was jealous of Tarn - from earlier episodes scenes)
‘But those things don’t mean anything, because who you are is what made me love you.’
‘Tarn showed me the reality of this world, while you (Tofu) showed me the beauty of it.’
—————————————————————————————————————————————
There you have it, some of the many proofs that Nut really loved Tofu. That love endures, no matter what Nut will experience, and regardless if he does end up together with Tarn or not.
And on a more personal note, all of my four grandparents had passed away, and I loved each of them very much. They were my happiness. That love didn’t cease even after they passed on. They are still (and will always be) in my memories. I loved them all the same. Others may not see it, but who knows what is in one’s heart but oneself?
But should we then wallow in sadness and despair (as what Na experienced)? We must realise that life goes on and we have to make good use of it, in whatever time and opportunities we have been given. We may find new happiness and love, but that does not change for one moment the love we had for those who are truly dear to us, even if they had passed on.
(And at least, Tofu and Nut are together, and they are aware of each other’s existence. Isn’t that even better? Many of us don’t get that in our world, where we don’t get to physically touch and hug our loved ones anymore when they are not around)
(This is not under spoilers as I think it is important that all of us understand more perspective of things before…
Plus, don’t forget, as the audience, I mentioned elsewhere before (maybe not in this series), that we have the helicopter view of things, knowing all the plots for every characters, but if we put ourselves in Nut’s shoes, and each character’s shoes, there are many things each of them individually did not know.
(Which often leads to us as viewers making assumptions without understanding this limitation that exists and yet often forgotten)
One of the important lesson of this series presented to us is that communication is very important, and yet, to communicate something to another often requires courage that many of us often lack (and the characters, from Na, Nut, Anik, and others too).
And love can make people blind and do things that will only make them regret much later, and certain things/damages/hurts can’t simply be undone.
Examples (among others):
1. Jan and Sib’s plotting to break Saen and Na up. 2. Saen intentionally killing his own brother via medicine. 3. Na slapping her son when she tried to protect him from his dad. 4. Jan poisoning Tofu to protect Saen.
(This is not under spoilers as I think it is important that all of us understand more perspective of things before jumping to conclusions)
Have just rewatched the finale episode again, and I just want to say first that the ending has been out there in the Until We Meet Again OST (played in the intro) from the beginning. For those who don’t understand Thai, they won’t get to understand the meaning of the lyrics until the end.
But as you hear Nut playing the guitar in tears before Tofu’s coffin, he was also making a wish, through that song (one of the most beautiful, though sad scene I’ve ever seen)
Lyrics:
‘I wake up to see the happy face of the person in my heart’
‘Why can’t I forget this person’s face? Why is he so memorable?’
(Reference back to the first episode when Nut woke up and saw Tofu and recognised him as Neung)
‘It’s strange to think of those lost memories, of beautiful days and nights’
‘However much I cry, I think about you. And the days when you were with me.’
‘In the end, we still have to part ways.’
(Referring to how Tofu awakened in Nut once again the desire and willingness to love, after he had shut himself off from love - which Tofu told Nut in one of the earlier episodes. And of course, of Tofu’s death.)
‘This place means so much to me, and I have so many memories.’
‘Please stay here with me. There will be another day for us. A day when we will be together again.’
(Nut then went on to say that he wished it can become true, but he acknowledged sadly that it was impossible. Yet a new miracle did happen. This one is fulfilled in the final part of EP 16. There was no guarantee that Tofu could become teddy bear again, or find his way back to Tofu, and yet, they came to be together again.)
This song is likely written by Nut himself, and sung specially for Tofu. If that is not true love, then what is it?

Sharing with you this AO3 story (not mine)!
Currently I am planning and writing my own story too, although I am perfectly happy with the series ending.

It was beautifully acted. The feelings perfectly portrayed by Jobb.
And very importantly, Tofu himself approves Nut being with Tarn.
Tofu: ‘I love you too’
Love does not lie. Till the end and forever. Things in this world may change, but as long as love remains, it will be there for them.
See the final 5 minutes of EP 16 and you’ll understand what I mean.

‘Nothing is better than when the people you love, love you back and wait for you to return.’
(Referring to both the slippers and to himself and Nut)
Do share if you manage to find it!
