Agreed. What's done was done, we can't change the ending, we can't change Tofu's decisions. We can only speculate…
Each of them, including Tarn made their decisions and had peace with what they decided on. They communicated these clearly to each other, and accepted each other's love.
Indeed, it's not the perfect ending that we all wanted (I wanted it too), but from the characters' POV, that's as good as they get. What matters for them is living in the present (as repeatedly highlighted by the show), and look to the future.
In twitter I saw someone asked author this question and he answered ; Q : Why Tofu look like P’Neung, not P’Tatarn?A…
I prefer Tofu and Nut too. I wanted them to be together very much.
But in the end, in universe, the three characters (Nut, Tofu and Tarn) had made their decisions on their own, communicated it clearly to each other (some seems to be cut out from the episode as I mentioned), and they made those decisions and are at peace with what they decided.
Nut is (very) happy that Tofu is still with him somehow (in his heart and physically reachable via the teddy bear), and he has Tarn too. Tofu is happy that he gets to see Tarn getting his justice against TRD somehow (again the detail are either cut or incomplete as the detail is in the other novels) plus seeing Nut being happy again and having someone to take care of him, and Tarn is happy to be together with Nut again, but at the same time, he also respects Nut's love for Tofu (which to me is and will always be more than his love for Tarn).
In the end, their love wasn't a selfish one. Each one of them wish for each other's happiness. They accepted each other's love and strive to make a new future together. To what end? We don't know. It's beyond the scope of the story, but we can always imagine.
'I will be happy if you are happy' - This has been said repeatedly by each of the three of them in the last episode and before.
I love the song singing part the most. Most touching scene for me from that episode.
Exactly, and that is clear enough for me and you even considering that according to the director, there were scenes that had been cut out that would have provided us even more details of this love, even more than what we already have in EP 16.
But well, different people interpret things differently. Just that, I hope people don't miss out on these important details, some of them are crucial in understanding how Nut sees Tofu after his passing (as a human).
What if a season 2, special episode or a Movie is made to deal With the after math?My plot Point for this is:…
That's something that is not impossible (means can in fact happen), and since Netflix bought this series, clearly they may be looking forward to gain more from the adaptation, hence maybe that's why they limited and cut the first series short, so that they can probably make a second season out of it.
But I won't put too much hope into it. As the story according to the original novel and the other books based on the info shared here, seem to end as it is in the ending, just that the other books provide more in depth details of many aspects like Nut's POV, Tarn's history and resolution of the matter with TRD.
I don't know why I thought it was safe to come here and see what people thought about the ending and not get spoiled…
If you watch throughout all the episodes, you will grow very attached to Tofu as a character. That's especially because based on the novel, this series is shown mostly from Tofu's POV. Hence, we spent a lot of time exploring his character development and growth.
And naturally many of us, myself included, wished that he could remain as a human and be the one whom Nut loved (happily ever after ending). But the ending showed us that, if that is the case, it won't be just and right for the other guy (a.k.a. no ending is actually perfect).
Won't spoil anything more than that for you. Watch it and have your own thoughts and judgments about the show ):)

Yes, he loves Tofu a lot, and that was just one clue shown by the finale episode. I have been rewatching that scene a few times, and it's still powerful every time.
What I am somewhat not ok is people saying that he moved on too fast from Tofu, or that he didn't love Tofu, or Tofu being just a placeholder among others, ignoring that powerful song scene among other clues and hints.
Hmm, somehow I am reminded of the moment when Mrs Na (Nut’s mum) was stirred from her illusion that Saen was her husband (the perfect husband) instead of Sib because she couldn’t bear the pain of seeing her husband die in her own arms and that death caused by Saen himself. The reality is often painful.
It was Tofu who helped Mrs Na to go through the healing process in the middle of the series, reminding her that although the reality may be painful, but it is necessary for her (and anyone else) to face reality someday.
It takes time for the healing process to take effect (we saw how Mrs Na took a while to reconcile with her past, and some things cannot be completely healed). Somehow I feel that it is the same with us viewers too, as we watched this series through to its ending, and were woken up to the reality that Tofu, in the end, chose to let Tarn live because for him to remain a human will not be just to Tarn.
(It is not an easy healing process for us, and it may take a while, but that’s why we are here, to support each other. Some of us are more affected and are more saddened. Sharing the joy doubles the joy, and sharing the sorrow halves the sorrow. That is what I believe in ☺️)
Was explained by one of the Thai viewers here, Pasit, that the details are explained in another novel by the same…
I don’t have any insider news, so I hope anyone with the news can update us. Hope they will consider pushing for getting the rights for all the remaining novels.
So, In the end we still don't get why Tofu looked like P'Nueng????
Was explained by one of the Thai viewers here, Pasit, that the details are explained in another novel by the same author, which CH3 unfortunately do not have the rights to.

Tofu himself encouraged me with his words, 'To stand up for truth and righteousness', as he said in EP 16, the finale.
He was willing to take the poisoned drink, and stand true to his principles, against Jan and all those who were holding up their falsehoods, to reveal the truth and get justice for all, especially for Tarn.
If you were Tofu, and you happen to be reading this MDL comment page. What will you do?
What exactly was cut and how impactful are the cuts to the ending?
The cuts mostly affected the reactions to Tofu's death, showing the healing process that takes place between his death, the grief that followed it, and how Nut was struggling about it, and will show even more clearly how he really loves Tofu, even more than what the ending has shown us.

I wasn't discrediting those unhappy with the ending. There is a very clear difference of presenting our thoughts and explaining with details and evidences from the series vs ranting against/supporting a series blindly without evidence or even blatantly misleading others by presenting false narrative about the ending/last episode because they haven't really watched it.
(There are a lot of hidden nuances and details in each and every moments throughout the entire series, including the ending. Seeing these details and sharing about them is meant to make all of us understand better the story (and ending) from different perspectives. None of us can understand this by ourselves alone. We often miss out a lot of details.)
It is perfectly ok to dislike the ending/series as I mentioned. But as some others earlier on pointed out below, that once they actually watched the ending, it wasn't as bad as what some presented it here. Bittersweet maybe, but not sad/terrible/rubbish as claimed.
(Of course, if you find it as sad/terrible, then you are entitled to your opinion, just as if we find it positive, it is fine too. But to paint the series in a horrible manner is a disservice to all the efforts that had been put into this series and the amazing story it had brought to us)
The main issue is how some were (and are still) actively discouraging people from watching the ending and encouraging them to drop the series altogether without giving the people the chance to form their own thoughts and opinions about the ending (and the series).
Yes, that makes me sad too. I personally liked the ending, just not the execution. I was team NutTarn after Nut…
No ending is perfect in the end. And each one of us have different responses to them based on our own unique experiences and backgrounds. That is perfectly fine and understandable.
