Thank god, they finally managed to produce a "BL" that does NOT focus on the romance. I am so sick and tired of those Thai BLs with the same teenage plot over and over and over again. No story but constant skinship - not my cup of tea! This one focused on the mystery, on morality and on ethics. It kept me glued to the screen and I did not have to FF too much. Tor was good here but to be honest, there was very little to no on screen chemistry. As I said, I do not need any romance, it is ok, if it is there, but it is never my focus - so I did not mind the lack of chemistry at all, but some might. For me this was a good thriller / mystery drama and I enjoyed it as that.
Yeah, that was the same for me when I tried to reach out to them. Sorry to hear that. Sometimes you have to try different locations with the VPN and always delete coooookies in between - that is what works for me for most free shows.
The pros: JCW! The cons: NO on screen chemistry at all, no clear direction, no plot, BORING. Sorry, as a big JCW fan I started and dropped this many times. It is boring, nothing really happens. The daily life in a convenience store is really not THAT interesting and I do not even want to get started on the bad fighting scenes - what was THIS? To sum this up: a young girl with no clear direction in life falls in love with a man (who is in a realtionship!) x years her senior. They get together in the last few minutes of the VERY LAST episode and there is not one single kiss or anything romantic.
Good acting. BUT as usual I have two major issues with those cdramas: ONE the ending is much too short. The conflicts last till the last 5 minutes of the last episode and then they resolve everything in a rush. The FL romance with the SML: one minute and 30 seconds, ML new job: one minute, Second couple romance: one minute, SFL ending: one minute. Especially for a drama like this, where you see very little happy moments for any of the characters, it would be really nice to show them being happy for, well, how does 15 minutes sound? For the new relationship, to show, how the son reacts to the new partner, how the ML has learned his lesson and takes care of his son, how the SFL resumes her life after she has done so much for the ML only to be dumped.... TWO the wimp ML and FL. Here we have another of those extremely insecure ML with very low self esteem, who has to put the FL down to lift himself up. and a martyr victim FL, who is OK with her husband dictating every aspect of her life for years. Yes, she tries to break free but my oh my, did it take long for her to grow up and take on the role of an adult.
I admit, that I enjoyed WWWSK - the script, the cast, the acting. Surprisingly I also liked the Filipino adaptation - the script, the cast, the acting. So I was really happy, when I saw this Thai adaptation as I watch lakorns mostly...but my oh my, I did not think, that I would drop this. We all know, that lakorns are a different kind of drama and their adaptations are oftentimes "off". The script here was overly dramatic, forced funny moments ( that I found ridiculous ) - the choosing of a new secretary: yeah, jump into the pool to rescue some documents (insert BIG eyeroll here). The cast. The ML in WWWSK had charisma, that aura of power and at the same time he displayed the wounded hero to a T. Here: not so much. The FL in WWWSK had a calm, controlled air around her, when she was in the office. She had grace and style and always behaved absolutely perfect. Here: not so much. The acting. Both actors are good. The ML actor is one, that I liked almost from the start of his carrer. He has some great lakorns which I enjoy rewatching. But this role here is a no from me. Bua has improved in the last two years but her acting is nowhere near the level of the FL in WWWSK - sorry for that but this is my opinion. I like both actors in other lakorns but not here. To know the original characters and actors and then seeing this remake turning out like this...dropped somewhere in the middle. I can however recommend the Filipino adaptation. This one is very close to the original and the cast is good. If you have a VPN set it to an asian country and watch free via VIU.
Can someone please tell me, if the acting gets any better? On ep 3 right now and would really like to continue but the actors....I can almost see them thinking and reading their lines in their minds...
