Oh, it seems like we see the ending completely different. For me, she developed a spine in the last few episodes and the end was not open at all, but a very clear NO from her part. She told him, that she only sees him as her sons father and that there will not be anything else....for me her running after him was her last "struggle" but as she gave up, it meant, she did not want him anymore. At least, that is what I understood or wanted to understand because them getting back together after everything he has done to her and to her family would be the worst ending ever!
This is actually the FIRST and ONLY drama, where I think SHK did a good job. Normally, her stony "one expression only" face does not fit her roles and therefore I can not watch her "acting" (which is really not good in my opinion). But finally, someone casted her for the perfect role and because of her inability to show emotions this drama is GREAT!

Yep, that is the grooming I was talking about so often here! As long as the ML is good looking, they can sell this stuff as a romance and the - mostly underage - audience is groomed to accept TOXIC as normal. Would like to see, how the audience reacts, if the ML was a disgusting bald man with a beer belly, unkept, with yellow teeth and smelling like an ox .....would they still think it is romantic to be grabbed, kissed and raxxed by him???
Well, this drama was a mess through and through. But that couple was very popular and a lot of fans only rate this that high, because of the actors. This was over for me the minute the FL learned that she was sold for breeding and fled and her mother dragged her back to that house and left her without a backward glance. And as I said, the FL was still in school sooo very young....
