why do they always film these historical shows during the winter 🤣it always looks cold af
I gave it a search and found this :
on reddit : COSTUMES & MAKEUP Practicality Overheating: Historical dramas involve layers of robes, corsetry, armor, and heavy wigs. Filming these scenes in the summer heat leads to profuse sweating, ruined makeup, and frequent health risks like heatstroke. The lesser evil: It is far easier to keep actors warm by hiding portable heating pads beneath their robes or using hand warmers between takes than it is to cool down an outdoor set or unheated soundstage
(so there was a costume reason)
CULTURAL REASONS : "Pure as jade": In traditional Chinese culture, snow symbolizes purity, nobility, and resilience. Falling snow is highly romanticized and is frequently used as the setting for pivotal emotional scenes. A fruitful year: Snow is also tied to the well-known idiom (a fall of seasonal snow gives promise to a fruitful year), symbolizing hope and blessings for the future. from here : https://confuciusinstitute.site.hw.ac.uk/2020/12/17/snow-in-chinese-culture/
(so cultural reasons too)
And ... (from reddit again) STUDIO LOGISTIC BUDGET Apparently a massive portion of Chinese period dramas are filmed at the Hengdian World Studios in Zhejiang province. These massive soundstages and open-air sets are historically accurate but lack built-in heating or air conditioning.

Not only the historical though ... but a lot of historical seems to be during winter ... maybe it's easier for technical reasons. Also I wondered if it's because the costume would make everyone too hot so they only shoot in winter ? Or there is specific cultural reasons that makes it more fitting to the trope of historical dramas ... If there is a reason it would be cool to know ! :3
When the mom reproach is son that the emperor is taking the other concubine and sone to the autumn hunt ... implying his skills in archery aren't good enough.
I sooOOoOOoo wanted the son to reply back :
- Maybe it's your skills in bed that need to be more convincing so it would be you and not the other concubine being chosen for the trip to autumn hunt.
-_____-)'
P.S : somehow I think I am more into Wei Zi Ming and Yin Zhou story. (maybe I should worry ... it's not *exactly* a very sane relationship)
.... I like Krit. Krit is fine. He's nice. He's quite stable considering his BF is a host and that obviously he's more territorial type. (He looks more father material than Wayu also I think)
but ... if I was too chose ... I would chose Mind I think. He's just sweet and nice and handsome (Krit also is very handsome) but the vibe oozed by mind makes me more at peace.
Thanks it's not up to me I would have already completely messed the scenario of this drama for sure 🤣
(Actually I think I can also picture Mind as a Dad for Singto ... hmmm ... I start to consider a Krit + Mind scenario. Definitely getting out of hands 😂 )
I really liked episode 4, is this bromance or romance should be an epic line with all the bromance cdrama before…
I start to wonder if BL viewers are mostly brainless viewers unable to understand drama with a plot ... I have to say that I try to find reasonable reasons for this drama (and another) to not get the attention it obviously desserves ... and I really start to be skeeptical about BL viewers ... I just can't fanthom what is going on ...
( and If that's what it is does that mean we are doomed to get drama more and more stupid because of brainrots ? ! ? )
Good ep this week. Scenario still flows properly. Keeps on making me think of Supernatural in some aspects : brotherhood, funny tints and cool kids vibe. But also in a different way ...
Love the guy is removing a shirt full of ... regurgitation. Which isn't the utmost glamour but ... ... we still have the 2 in the room totally checking him out. XDD
And why is he smiling like an idiot most of the time!? It's painful to watch.
I am also watching Wu ... it's not perfect a few little things but they are very minor and so far I enjoy it too ... plus I have good hopes for it.
Wonderfools seems to be quite popular. I wonder if it would be my type of drama but I will check at the synopsis if you say it's good so far.
I am watching too many things for my own sake. The one I enjoy at the moment : - Wishing Upon The Shooting Stars (I especially love of the details that actually are signs and make sens later, the syopsis isn't crazy yet they made something really great out of it ! ) - "Journey with you" seems promising. - Love of Silom (Thai drama, the actors are good)
- Light the night ... I like the atmosphere ... just starteed it so I can't be sure so far.

Now we know :3

I see things without knowing if I guess it right but I love the mystery of it. XD
*warning BL with plot*
So people who are not into that type of BL wouldn’t be disappointed.
We should be considerate with them °-°)

but the drama doesn't really follow the novel on many aspects
Can't believe the drama is reaching the end ...
I don't dare to watch this week episode yet ... I want to "save it for later"
Let's enjoy the show ! :3
Is it good ?

Good scenario, good cast (maybe the kids ... but kids ...) nice costume !
We have a real historical BL ... the last time we had something like that it was 'The Untamed' and it was onscreen bromance.
really happy this exists !
Scenario still flows properly.

His character isn't the nicest (per say) but ... I enjoy it everytime he shows up on screen :3
I'll come back to check how it went.
