His villain status has relegated him to second billing, and some of the marketing focuses on the father's point of view. He even has a separate storyline that expands his scenes.

I noticed that it took three months for child Wu Zhen to wake up after she received the Cat Demon's powers. It took three months for Mei Zhuyu to wake up as well. My question: Is he a full demon now? (Already a half-demon plus the plant demon = ?)

Some serious costume dramas have plenty of "comic" moments. You know they're supposed to be funny because of the music. But they're often examples of slapstick humor which is more eyerolling than funny.
The interaction between Princess/Lady(?) Xie Yao and Mei Zhuyu was very funny. She's hitting on him while he's clueless. That was clever.
I don't give two 💩💩 about the fight scenes.
