I don't think this drama lends itself to many playful, light-hearted moments, unlike the projects you listed. And it doesn’t appear to be a romance, which would affect his dynamic with the FL actress.

You need to give the guy a break and not be so negative. He went through a lot and has gotten through it.

Exactly. It's not like a FL or another ML is automatically the cause for less Xu Kai screentime. Case in point: Moonlit Reunion.

Have you seen the BTS clips for Strange Tales? Looks like lots of action scenes for Xu Kai. I'm really looking forward to this drama. Of course, that could be said for all XK dramas.

But it opened the door for the gullible and the willing to believe the lies spewed last year. There's a cumulative effect that must have hurt him personally.

Even if he waits until 1.) he re-signs or 2.) signs with someone else, he's got plenty of projects that will be broadcast this year and next. And he's already had a period of no new projects in more than a year (by choice). We all hope for the best for Xu Kai.

Xu Kai seems to be able to spot each of them. When he does, instead of quickly looking away, he'll stare at them. At first I thought he did it because it bothered him, but he's actually giving them (us) what they (we) want. Xu Kai will even post some of the results on his Insta page.

I haven't seen Scent of Time so I'm wondering if that would have been a better drama for Xu Kai to star in, rather than SEL? Did he get the short end of the stick in this deal?
