Yan Rui has created a personality that he projects to the Xie family. I don't think he can drop it, even in front of her. His jealousy does make some cracks in his facade, which I'm sure frustrates him.

But he's sweet to her Granny, not for brownie points, but as he said she reminds him of others who have shown care.
