Not really i thought he was exactly that type of character who was written like the ml and the ml was written…
The ML protected "him" from day one, pretending the female underwear was his, protecting (by then) her in the shower, causing a disturbance in the health checkup line, etc.).
He was a relentless tease, but he was protective, even when he thought his roommate was a guy.
The 2ML had an image to maintain. He wouldn't have done any of these things.
The ML had an amazing character arc, probably the most extensive one in the series, from debauched playboy to exceptional soldier, friend, and significant other.
Actually, Xu Kai has never really done those soft, overly polished modern romances where it’s all about the…
I've never understood why viewers use the term romcom to label series that are heavy on the romance, but light on the "com." Despite the frequent presence of Mei Si, I would never describe Moonlit Reunion as a romcom.
Best Choice Ever is about family. Dealing with the family you have, and discovering your desire to be accepted into one.
Yao Zhiming went from stray cat to being the glue that put Mai Chenghuan's family back together. He could communicate with the mom and even found her "adorable"(!). Xu Xai's character had the most significant journey in the series, even though he was scarcely seen for many, many episodes.
And ... he was the physical comic relief:
A drunken strip tease (plus falling off the cart ... twice). Teasing Huan Huan on the car trip to the mountains. Acting like a fishing god. His reaction to the foot-skin eating fish. Insulted to be called 40 years old. His classic jump scares (e.g., startled by Huan's coughing in the old village). Bravely tending the smoky stove.
Why are you so pressed about this?If someone wishes Xu Kai to do more rom-com, that's their business. Just like…
Hey, Krish728 and Shikha. When you're done venting, could you clean up the feed and delete your posts? They're unhelpful.
There are a couple of "fans" who stop by now and then who seem to want to replace Yu Zheng and ineptly manage Xu Kai's career. Some of us (me included) take the bait.
Bringing up fall 2025 and claiming popularity is more important than career growth may irritate some of his (again, me included) supporters.
These "fans," knowingly or not, pick up the blackmarketing ball and carry it here.
Ideally, ignoring them is the best option. No amount of conversation will change their opinions.
I asked some friends in the industry. #BaiLu will not renew her contract with Huanyu when it expires and will…
Why does she have to wait? Xu Kai's been taking the mud-slingers to court for the past year or two. He just won another case today. The punishment is negligible and takes a year to get a result.
I hope Bai Lu and XK both leave when their contracts expire. Yu Zheng is trash.

Huang Song had a notable arc as well.

And we got to hear his authentic laugh (barely)!
Ridiculous
Distorting the success of Eight Hundred is unfanworthy. Sounds like something a blackmarketer would say on Weibo.
Words have meaning.
Saying you would like more Xu Kai rom coms is one thing. Not respecting that he has his own career goals is hard to let pass without a comment.

I'm probably just being paranoid.

Loving Mo Li!

If anyone knows which instance this case refers to, please share.
I'm looking forward to the results of the Xu Lisha case. Since she made a variety of claims, I hope she gets more than a slap on the wrist.
5000 yuan. What a joke.
