Different character different acting style. That is how the character was describe he's a taoist monk who reject…
Some serious costume dramas have plenty of "comic" moments. You know they're supposed to be funny because of the music. But they're often examples of slapstick humor which is more eyerolling than funny.
The interaction between Princess/Lady(?) Xie Yao and Mei Zhuyu was very funny. She's hitting on him while he's clueless. That was clever.
I see alot of people are complaining about xu kai's screentime, so im just gonna clear this up.This is a tencent…
I don't disagree with anything you said (except YZ influence usually means less screentime for XK🙄).
BUT ... please let us experience our disappointment while being very happy for Xu Kai and this opportunity. They're not mutually exclusive. I came in with the preconceived notion that Xu Kai might actually -for once - get more screentime than he usually does. That he might have the opportunity to truly carry a project.
Not this time. And not likely with Spring of the Blade or Tiandu. Holding out hope for Fire Investigator.
That said, Eight Hundred is a great story with an outstanding cast. I look forward to each episode with anticipation and anxiety.
Why he is also been used and why he doesn't do anything about it , I also heard same in the moonlit reunion, he…
I can't believe you couldn't wait your usual month to stir up stuff.
Plenty has been written on the Xu Kai board about how we feel he is treated by his agency. You've read it. Why bring it here? Looking for a new audience?
I’m ok with it though. Don’t forget he is the villain. They won’t show the villain that much. if you watch…
Is he really "the" villain? There are many more treacherous characters in this drama. Chen Hui's not a black-or-white character. He was a decent person driven to commit indecent acts to save a loved one.
More screentime should be devoted to Chen Hui because he is the central character to this story.
Is the case from decades ago just an excuse to give the dad more screentime? And the dead woman just happens to have been his fiancée? Humph.

There are some videos out there. I think Zhou Ye had her own event a few days before the official wrap.
It's like putting some soothing ice on a third-degree burn.
