I'm on episode 11. When will I stop loathing Xu Si? I'm not a hate-watcher so I don't know how much longer I can take this.

How is this rated an 8.0? There are so many better dramas out there in the upper 7's.

Xu Kai's refusing to take just anything that is offered. He rejected costume dramas to film Fire Investigator and 800 Meters Radius, one of which will likely air in early 2026.
A Cup of Love, which wrapped last July, will probably air late in the year.

I'm saying that "less" Mei Zhuyu doesn't make Moonlit Reunion better or "more." I'm playing on the expression Less Is More. One meaning of that phrase is that fewer things or saying less can lead to better, more impactful results. In this case (as in most cases), less Xu Kai did not lead to a better drama.

I was afraid of the same thing with Miles Wei (Zheming). I only knew him from Flourished Peony and I hated his character. When I heard he was going to join Xu Kai in Strange Tales of Tiandu, I wasn't thrilled if his character was one we should root for.
I decided to try one of his costume dramas where he plays a good guy, Echo of Her Voice. It was a fun watch (plus it had Caesar Wu) and I liked Miles's character.
I don't know that I'll make an effort to watch more of his work, but at least I won't avoid it.
