What was that?? I’m still sobbing about it but I guess we all knew what the ending was gonna be huh? Despite that ending, this was such a pleasure to watch :)
So far, the series in relation to the movie, has had it’s moments, both good and bad. The series implemented two storylines I disliked in the original too, the teenage looking husband and wife romance, and the father - daughter romance storyline, of which the second one bothers me a lot more. I get that the first is essential to make the story move along, but the second was unnecessary even in the movie. The Goo Woo Young and Jung Da Jung romance still icks me, I have to keep reminding myself that it’s actually Hong Dae Young and not a teenager. That’s not to say that the series does not improve upon the original. The movie did not have the parent - child relationship storyline and honestly, that was a highlight of the series. Also, the movie did not have Ye Ji Hoon. The character of Scarlet did have a love interest, but there was not much depth and development to the character that we kind of forgot about him. The series also has quite a long run time, allowing it to develop characters and storylines better. One can look at the movie and drama as entirely separate entities or as adaptations, both have their positives and negatives. The series did make some changes from the original, looking forward to seeing how different the ending is.
