Funny, the conversation about her eyes. To be honest I think she just has big eyeballs. Some people do; and this combined with smaller eye lids, can make one look like, well like someone who is amazed / surprised all the time. For me her eyes are not a problem. I’m glad she is doing a. Episodes 23 24: most mature and natural behavior ever.
I bet this role will be a turn8n* point in Yukee,s career.
They are both so damn good.

Finally saw the episodes of today 21,22. What a brilliant story. I don’t care about the ratings at all. There is so much subtlety in almost every dialogue. The metaphor, the innuendos. Clever, clever, clever.

The actors depict human behaviour at its best and at its worst. All legit from each individuals perspective.
The despair of the powerless emperor, manifested through entitlement and arrogance and in his animal behaviour.
The power to sacrifice herself for her beloved (our FL).
The angst and insecurity due to perceived lack of status and power (our ML), that will manifest itself in frustration and stupid (but oh so human) behaviour (doubt and what comes with it).

At some point some of us made a slight parallel with LLTG. Now I know there is indeed a parallel, only this one here is much rawer, bam in our face. It’s like this one is stripped and presenting us the bare necessary but not compromising on coherence thereof. Romance with details? I don’t even care anymore, as long as they (the main couple) get a human and dignified conclusion.

Can’t wait for tomorrow.

I liked the ML a lot in Forget to remember love.

I see the ratings dropped. Real pity. A gem, I’m my opinion. I read the reviews on this site and it is clear that this is one of those: you love it or you hate it; nothing in between. I’m in the love it camp.
Anyway, the plot thickens, can’t wait for tomorrow, now I’m hooked :).

I took time to absorb what is going on, already episode 1 got me hooked. With the masterly worked out ceremony of the sacrifice of the tribute ladies. And the music/theme supporting that.

Many thanks for taking time to write this up. I don’t know where the story goes to, but I felt from episode 1 that we see only the very very tip of the proverbial iceberg. I sense we are still in the setting the scene modus and we will be blown away at some point and go back to various episodes to confirm and reconfirm the new facts. Can’t wait. Thanks again.

Binged it first time again after last summer. What an epic drama! Rewatch value 10. And unfortunately not many dramas have serious rewatch value. But this time around was even better. Bawled my eyes with tears, sometimes happy, sometimes sad. Brilliant. Perhaps rewatch in six months or so.

Rewatching LLTG and feel that LingBuYi is at times like XD here (and vice versa). Both brilliant.

Au my eyes hurt, the ML is so beautiful. Also the smile of the FL is worth millions. Such a nice little story, happy it is there. Hope the best for the actors, they r doing a good job.
