People have this notion that WYF didn't loved SY as much as he did. The main thing varying between them was priority. SY had all the time to give priority to love, WYF didn't. She had so much on her plate to think about romance at that time.

Thinking about how Wen Yifan wanted to live 6 years more than Sang Yan so as to equate the number of years he spend yearning for her and he denied because he didn't wanted her to go through the pain he went.

No one can convince me that Wen Yifan loved Sang Yan any less. She loved him as much as he did, if not more.

What I feel is WYF's mother genuinely don't care for her. If her mistakes were genuine mistakes, they deserve forgiveness. She abandoned her daughter. She cared more for her step daughter than she did for her own. WYF lived in Yihe for 6 years and her mother didn't cared for her at all. The one time she visited her was also because she was on a trip there, not because she cared.

Which sane mother will worry more about her husband's appointment the next day than her daughter who is injured, claims to be almost SA. WYF begged her mother that she don't feel safe. She gave place to those people who made her daughter's life hell. She didn't even cared when WYF literally vanished for those 6 months and said she don't approve of her relationship. Her mother tried reaching her now because she has no one. Her husband is cheating on her, her step daughter will prefer her own father over her, her son is still small. The only option left was WYF so she tried reconnecting.

People complaining about how Male lead lacks depth. Tell me how he lacks it? He is born and brought up in a loving family. He is pampered and if you really watched the show, you will realize he was never serious about life before meeting WYF. Its not something impossible. He belongs to a rich family. Even if he failed, he had enough money. He is a sheltered rich kid. He did what he loved. He had friends who loved him and a healthy environment. He is intelligent, loved by everyone and has money. He had literally no struggle in his life. The first setback he suffered was a freaking rejection. Like do you understand how small his world must be to be so broken over a rejection? He fell ill. He is passionate and loved her a lot, but love can't solve everything. He didn't gave up on her because sometimes, love makes you miserable. He is soft hearted, so it made him miserable too. He just wanted to be part of her life in any way. It was a love he lived in his youth, dreaming about having a happily ever after. His though his feelings were reciprocated but suddenly, the dreams he saw were shattered. For him, the biggest setback was a heartbreak. It shaped him completely. Everyone has different type of struggle. He had almost perfect life, so the only struggle he felt was his love life.

In love also, he grew so beautifully. Once, he used to announce everywhere that how much he loved her and soon, he grew up to keep it in his heart, not even letting the owner to take a peek at it. His growth in love is his character arch. I know most of his choices were because of FL, but it is because she is his motivation. He might not even be successful if not for the way she motivated him. He don't love her because of how beautiful her face is. He loves her for what she pulls out for him. How gentle she is towards everyone. How her eyes are the peek to her soul.

Its not like his character lacks depth. He is vulnerable at so many times. He clearly said he is not a man of words but still, for the sake of WYF, he keeps saying words of affirmation. He is not someone who shares whats in his heart but for WYF, he dared to open his heart. Even his best friends don't know what goes in his heart. Its not because they are not interested. Its because of how SY doesn't like sharing it. His parents loves him, but still he is unable to share his feelings with them unlike his sister. it shows how elder siblings are brought up. He unconsciously have this responsibility in him that comes from being an elder brother. His character was not explored as much as WYF because the whole drama is based on WYF's pov but still we had so many scenes where we saw his sides too.

Not every character needs to have depth as some people feel. People brought up in healthy environment, like SY are unaware about the harsh realities of this world. He saw those harsh realities through WYF that is why he couldn't get angry on her. He expressed his disappointment clearly, how his world was shaken up because she left him but getting angry on her will just make things worst. He had waited for WYF for a decade. He also had this guilt that WYF had to fight alone. Like just think from his POV when he realized that why she stopped dancing. Just to protect her dignity, she jumped from the 2nd floor. What his inner feelings will be? Him blaming himself was inevitable because he somewhere didn't really tried to understand WYF during High school. He saw her through the eyes of a lover and thought that once they get together in college, things will be fine. He didn't knew the extent of her sufferings.

SY too grew up as a person. That is why he could sympathize so well with Sang Zhi in Hidden love. Because he had his heart broken too. People should realize that not every character needs to be complex. He is good son, brother, friend and a lover. He is amazing at whatever he does. He is just how some normal people are.

I didn't watch you are my secret so I can't say about that.

Here, it is a slowburn but the chemistry and later episodes are worth it. The storyline is solid. The FL had some traumatic experiences which forced her to turn indifferent towards world but she really loves the ML. It has one of the most satisfying ending and is fluffy at times. The cinematography is amazing and actors are nice too. ML loves her a lot and is completely devoted towards her. The love has depth and their high school scenes are beautiful. I will recommend you to watch it but it has some sad scenes, given that FL faced attempted S*xual as*ault in past. Though if you don't enjoy angst, you should drop it but I will still ask you to at least watch the first 8-10 episodes before deciding.

There is no misunderstanding trope but FL runs away to HK because of her past and to protect ML. She is really miserable and traumatized but at the same time, she is strong.

It is a second chance romance. So, I can't clearly say when they started to feel for each other because they had liked each other from high school but in ep 18, they get together officially. FL starts realizing she still has feelings for him by ep 14.

The plot is second chance romance. Emotional healings, conflicts, angst, everything is there.

Depends on what you prefer. The vibes are different. This is a second chance romance of Sang Zhi's brother. If you prefer fluff then this might not be for you but if you like slowburn, longing, angst then you might like it. Female lead has a very traumatic life, so it also have triggered warnings.

I didn't felt that his love healed her. His love surely gave her the strength to fight against her inner demons but she was never healed with his love. If she did, she wouldn't have suffered after they got together. He just brings out her real side at times, like the drunk side, childish side, soft side. It was HK arc and those 6 months which acted as a buffer. She met people who lost themselves, tried to understand their povs, once again ventured into something she genuinely loves (Ballet). Though I am particularly not very fond of it, I don't think director tried to show love heals. That HK arc acted as a buffer, she cleared her thoughts, tried to gather her strength. She took a long time to get healed. I wish people like her visit therapist but I think she didn't felt the need to do it. She was in a healthy mind after she told everything to SY, like a burden came off her chest. We can't deny that she was in guilt too for breaking his heart. After CXD got punished, you will see how she really turned brighter. It was because she felt that her younger self got justice. I won't say SY healed her. She healed herself while he stood by her side, supporting her.

Also, about no one loves me. She was not wrong. As much as ZSQ loves WYF, that is the kind of love we have for friends. What she meant was how someone who was supposed to always love her, without any conditions didn't loved her. In this case, her mother. She knew cutting her mother off was necessity if she wanted to live without resentment. She might have forgiven her mother, but if she kept in contact with her, she won't ever be able to fully heal, holding resentment towards her mother.

Amazing. Whatever you said, I whole heartedly agree with you. WYF is such a strong character and ZRN did an amazing job at it. WYF deserves everything, including SY no matter what people say<3
