It was a great show. I loved it. I liked it a lot the lack of explicit romance but the abundance of long looks, small touches and very good chemistry. Did I said I loved this drama? Super entertaining, with lots of intrigue, backstabbing, greed, and action. Plot was super interesting. 9/10 for me.
This drama is nice but the intro and ending scenes repeated every 5 minutes are killing the mood. I’m watching this in YouTube and whoever edited this didn’t care to cut those annoying bits. Such a pity, it would had been a much better watch if it was properly edited. But, at least it seems to have most of the subtitles.
This drama was the longest 3:33 hours to watch. It really was painful. Dull all the way. The FL had another level of stupidity falling for every single of his lies. ML lead when from antihero, to hero and master. Every time he opened his mouth came a lie. The FL going for life beating people, didn’t make her an heroine. After the second hour it becomes utterly boring. The music was hideous, like cats on heat or someone scratching a board with their nails. Yes, that bad. And that made me appreciate when they sometimes muted the songs. We weren’t lucky this time. All the songs are horrible. Don’t get me wrong I love some Chinese OST when they’re sang beautifully no this insult to the ears. 7.1 is too much of rating, too high and undeserved.
Wow! This short drama was surprisingly good. It wasn’t perfect but it was so funny and well executed. At first, I wasn’t amused about the reverse roles. I’m an old school person that believes in manly men and womanly women. But they did it good. Comedy was the constant in this plot and is what it kept it going fluidly. It was interesting to see how they disguised her woman attributes, make her look with a wider waist although she isn’t that big. Or make her look taller than him when wearing general’s clothes but shorter than him when wearing a femenine dress. The main leads had plenty of chemistry, they both did good at portraying their characters. Overall a pleasant drama.
What a pity! It wasn’t a bad drama in general. It did lack some smooth flow in the plot, some things were a bit abrupt, rushed, and incomplete. But the ending is bitter and disappointing. If they thought it will translate as a hopeful end. Not, it didn’t it was just frustrating. Chinese authors most of the time are perverse, evil and cruel with their audience. They hate us for watching dramas. That’s why often we can’t enjoy an -all the way- good drama. Like life wasn’t enough full of peril, uncertainty and danger by itself. In the end, it left me with a bittersweet but more bitter than sweet feeling.
The fight in episode 24 was such a treat. It was delightful, funny, interesting and superb choreographed. I enjoyed this quality content. Give me any day Yi Wei over those actors than can’t let go their poker face. And at least in my eyes, he’s gorgeous. I loved his long hair in The Rebel Princess. But here I’m really loving every distinct face he made, and his voice is so manly with a beautiful inflection. I don’t care about ratings because when you know the quality of the actors, script, and that the whole drama it’s a gem. Ratings become just a number. I feel for those that can’t appreciate a high quality play.
This has to be one of the best short dramas from 2023. The plot seems a bit complicated and discombobulated at first, but at the end everything is explained. Its first part or life was very harsh. I almost dropped it. I’m glad I didn’t. The acting was quite good. Could it be better? Yes, always. Still was quite decent. I don’t see a problem with the makeup. If we can put up with a reincarnation plot, a particular make up style doesn’t seemed far fetched. Actually, it seemed dreamy and fitting to the storyline. One of the things I appreciated the most was that this drama has all the subtitles. Lately, in these short dramas when the music comes, the subtitles stop and they are absent for the duration of the song and sometimes longer. So, we get lost in the translation and don’t know what is going on. Thankfully didn’t happened this time. I’m happy with the time allotted to this drama, 4 hours was enough to developed everything. I can imagine this drama extended to 16 or 48 episodes. And become something big. Because it has potential. Although in this format works very well.
Acting was good. Plot was very confusing and stupid. There were many parts without any translation whatsoever making it very difficult to understand what really was going on. Also, some of the translation was confusing too, like when they talk about someone and referred to themselves. So unless you can read Chinese the narrative has huge vital holes. Total waste of time.
Waiting for Netflix to deliver the last episodes of this drama. Zhou Yi Wei is the whole package deal. He’s so much more than a pretty boy. lol He’s smoking hot and all the faces he made in this drama deserve a special video on YouTube. Unfortunately although the FL is a gorgeous girl she lacks appeal. For a moment I really wish that her character didn’t exist and focus the plot in solving mysteries and murders. They don’t have chemistry at all. Yeah, she is a very beautiful actress but nope, she’s too dull. Now, his female assistant is obnoxious to say the least. He had so many chances to fire her. I don’t really appreciate the way she talks to him.
Quite good for a short drama. All 3 main leads gorgeous looking, and all them 3 can act. FL role was written by a misogynist, a wannabe revenge plot that made a skilled doctor become an idiot. But if we put us in her shoes, and our driven fuel was hate, then maybe, just may be it could be. But, then again no, or she needs a new knifes set that works. Hahaha. Their clothing didn’t look cheap at all. It has a very good pace. A big yes, lots of chemistry between main couple, much more than some 16 or more episodes dramas. The ending was borrowed from “Sleepless Princess”. So, that’s a big NO. Other than that, very watchable.
It was okay for what it’s, a short drama. It hold pretty well and the ending, as expected, was rushed, or at least no very well developed. To my surprise, I found the FL quite funny, she wasn’t majorly annoying and her best line was: “blood for blood”. I really liked she didn’t play the useless, good for nothing female lead. The kind that forgives the unforgivable. The male lead in his expected coldness was very cute. The cuckoo king was another surprise. I didn’t expected him to be so vicious. Actually is quite enjoyable.

Thank you but no thanks. If a drama isn’t good is very rare that it will get better. I was truly through this drama 4 years ago. There so many good dramas from start to end, enjoyable for whatever reason their plot is. There is no need to insist in a bad drama. No need to waste time.
I guess actors had to eat too. This is an extremely low quality movie. The actors and actresses are okay. The problem is the script, the twist in the plot and the exaggeration about an abandoned woman. It’s watchable if you don’t mind an ultra cheesy, cheap, and useless movie. I won’t say it's a wasted time because if I didn’t watched it I wouldn’t know how mediocre, absurd, and annoying this was. You had been warned.
I loved it. I read some belittling this movie and its plot. Not all women need a savior, some know to fight very well. I liked it that she went straight to business and left the chatty chat out. It’s not need to compare this movie to others. I wish it had a bit more of action. The fighting scenes were quite good.
I see what you mean. I watched both versions several times. Yes, the original has an older format but is more family oriented. In the remake although I watched it several times I disliked very much how almost they didn’t end together. It was painful to see how cold was the male lead towards her. How he never felt that deep love that the main lead in the original version did. It may be a modern version, but also shows how the male lead was much more invested in his career than in their love. In the original version the male lead was like that just until he falls in love with her. Then, she becomes his world and nothing else was as important. Was the original version, perfect? No, of course not. But it definitely had more heart. Besides in the original version la female lead was a lot more ladylike and classy. She didn’t got wasted at any time given, like the second one. Hmmm… I don’t know what I missed here. I found the prequel way below the first TWE. To me TWE 1 was one of the best Sci-Fi movies from the last years. Compelling, grandiose, exciting, and fast pace. The TWE 2 in the other hand seems slow, boring, too much sentimental, too many English speaking scenes. It lacks intensity and magnificence. I’m going to watch it again to see if I miss something.
