Yes! I didn't find it cute or funny too. It escalated too much for it to be considered a 'funny misunderstanding'. Agreed, the writers should have done a better job. Those parts were so uncomfortable and that elevator scene was it for me, I was so frustrated and confused lmao like what were the writers smoking π
I actually like the fake dad/wife storyline. I wanted her to suffer a bit and have some regret that he got married.…
No, I quite understood that part and found it sensible. She needs to figure out her feelings for him and how she's ready to face it. She needs to figure out whether she wants to go to the UN again or somehow make it work with him. Also, she needs to maintain a professional distance between them for the sake of the IPO bidding where she's leading the project from her company side and that guy Mr. Bao might be behind her, trying to find evidence of foul play if the bidding goes to Lin Xi's company. She has a lot to figure out from her side and her not promising a future to the ML is already maturity to a certain level.
Yes, she was a silly girl in university who couldn't communicate and broke up fearing the uncertainties. Due to the abrupt separation, she never processed other ways for them to be together. Her success in professional life assured her that she took the right path. They weren't in contact for 8 years, she was in her comfort zone personally. She just had to focus on her career and everything was smooth. She made decisions for herself. Now, given his sudden entry, she needs to make decisions surrounding him too if she wants to stay with him. She needs to fight for something that can potentially disrupt everything that she has built till now. She's confused. She knows he has a special place in her heart but needs to take the leap and fall in love with him completely again. That is not an easy decision to make.

This! I didn't like how FL was treated in that event. Also, the elevator scene where this little girl was like 'your dad is not carrying your mom, right?' was so uncalled for. I'm glad that part is over too.
Also, I agree with you. In university, it's hard to choose love over a career when you're just starting your life in the real world. Plus, she grew up watching her mom and dad having a tormenting relationship with her mom's side of the family and didn't want them to go through the same thing. She could have totally communicated better and was immature for abruptly breaking up but ig that was a plot device to get the story going?
I'm really enjoying this show. The story line is quite nice. It reminds me of "The Interpreter" but I hope this…
I actually couldn't get through those scenes (fake dad/ wife/ mistress) bc it was so unsettling. Making her look like a fake mistress and all that. So weird. I agree with the other comment, she might have deserved this but it was awkward for everyone involved. imagine the child goes to school the next day and hears all this gossip and has to face the drama?? Also, im okay with tong xin letting peter call the ML 'papa' bc he clearly seems to be a fatherly figure in that kid's life but she should've made stuff clear at school. The way the other mom was convinced ML is the dad and Lin Xi was the new gf was so weird and out of pocket. also, the fact that three people should participate in these events is so sad, like what about single parents?? im asian and back home, there was this time when this divorced mom had to write a letter to the school asking if she could be present for the father's day event for her daughter instead of the dad who can't show up since only dads and their kids where allowed in that event. that seemed so unfriendly to me.
Also, when the ML didn't clear the misunderstanding immediately, i was so baffled. thank god, tong xin made it clear in the end of the day but i didn't like how it looked like the FL's fault too. He made her misunderstand. I was expecting her to storm out of his house lol
Oh gosh we not only have to deal with love triangle at work now at home too for 36 episode.ππ₯²
He seems to have a CP pairing with another character so he'll move on and its not a big love triangle bc the FL seems to keep a decent distance from him until now (minding her own business). even if the become friends, i feel like he would be rejected soon now that FL knows ML is single too
dont worry, he has less screen time until now and is not a big deal. its just few scenes. the drama is really good tho, has a nice pacing. you should give it a try!
This guy cheng yao is already obsessed with FL and showing borderline stalkish behavior. It's like this arrogant brat found someone to tame him and was impressed. Like dude, she did recruit you, hmm so what? you want the freaking director to directly contact a freelancer for tasks like she's already not busy enough? π€¨ him moving in without prior notice to the FL is seriously a renter's nightmare and not just that, ep 6, he mentioned how her room is filled with plushies and she looks like someone who could be easily kidnapped when she wakes up in the morning. He shouldn't have entered her room without her consent, thats creepy, and 'kidnapping' is not a cute joke to make when you started living in that house out of the blue π£
I sometimes really like what they wear in the dramas. Like Bai Lu's red plaid business casual dress in Only for Love was so beautiful. Found the designer brand and wanted to see if it was still available β€οΈ
A more accurate translation for her post caption ('δΈεε ±ε') would actually be 'Learning and growing together'.…
woww that's so beautiful. thank you so much!! β€οΈ
I just read the english subtitle and assumed something, I usually try to pause and understand the chinese ones but didn't wanna cut the flow. While the poem is really meaningful and apt to the situation, the translation in the subtitles 'Together with you' is vastly different. Funny how the subtitles for a drama surrounding translation are not good enough :(
In ep 5, what does the article in Lin Xi's post 'Together with You' on wechat memories mean?? how does that article provide moral support to Xiao Yicheng? (since she was waiting for him to see it). I didn't get that part
