That is my main problem with this show. The book had good material, and there is absolutely no reason to deviate from that. It's not that the main couple would have to be given less time to stick to the original personality of RP. Maybe they wanted to show more angst here, but now that they have done this in the last part of the show, there's no way of fixing it in one episode, which they will do anyway.

Paytai won't like that for sure, but I am saying that in Ramil's mental state it won't be unreasonable to show that. Although the writers won't dare. The best scenario would be for Ramil to realise by his own that Paytai should be left alone for his well-being. Both should seek therapy and be happy. Separately.

What's more, Khanin at some point teases Ramil (they became friends /allies in the novel) saying that Paytai has him wrapped around his fingers completely, but it's not sure if he loves Ramil back. This unsettles Ramil, and when he asked, Paytai calmly said that he had long stopped thinking about love, since he decided to be Ramil’s. I also really liked the fact that Ramil used to call him Tai in private. It's so cute! But look at what they have done to my boys!

The novel RamilPaytai are completely different characters. Rachata was a bad parent and human being, but he did not torture them like that, and the boys did not have any trauma growing up (save for the regular palace politics). Both were extremely smart and caring people, Ramil is even described as 'mischievous' and 'childish'. Paytai was an excellent fencer and I guess also diplomat. Once Rachata threw a book at Paytai and it cut his lip, and Ramil threatened Rachata saying he would burn the palace down if he continues that. The boys never had any fallout, and had an established calm relationship from the beginning to end. I don't know what is happening here, and I don't like it.

You are right, it is not resolvable in one episode for RP as I said below, and looking at how he scoffs at Khanin's suggestion of diplomacy after losing Paytai, he has not learnt anything or dumbly thinks that by winning, everything is solvable. Rachata's death should not bridge the gap between RP, unless Ramil does that in rage. I really don't want to see Paytai returning running to Ramil and forgiving him with teary eyes (after Ramil had the audacity of asking "where are you going?" and not even following).

As I said somewhere, he can just kill his father in rage, which won't be unrealistic. But looking at his attitude in the meeting, he is still fixated on winning the competition. At this point, I think Rachata is really becoming successful in turning him like himself. The last thing he can do both for himself and for Paytai's forgiveness is to complain to the court for domestic violence and put his father in prison, but who am I kidding? Nothing will happen.
