I don't remember exactly but I think it was later made to look like an ambush on the carriage , and some nearby villagers were killed to account for the attackers' bodies or maybe they saw something. I read one big long fan translation, but should not be first book, as it was revealed in the end.

Same. His suits always stand out.
Actually I opened AO3 yesterday, and someone has written a RamilPaytai fanfic about that exact suit.

Umm, I don't see any similarity between them.
The way his eyes glitter and his lip twitches forward.

I understood from the book (although poorly translated) that the king was planning much ahead of time to win the competition. He decided to raise Khanin secretly, and he himself ordered the ambush on Khanin and his mother, ordered Thadanai to take Khanin and run, and send another group of men to kill Charan's mother, then killed off those men later one by one. I think one of those men's brother was an aid to Wasin. That's why Khanin could not believe his ears and asked again and again, all these for just a competition?

I did.
Fencing competition should be held as fencing has always been a key element both in the book and here. Most likely Khanin would win, having all three win in one level each. Then they will proceed towards the book ending, probably after a huge confrontation between the young and the old people. I am expecting the confrontation because the old generation should have an earful from the young ones.

I did.
I thought this would be archery with Ava winning, next would be fencing with Khanin winning with climax, final one being the aftermath.

That's because of the king doesn't GAF about any humans. He only cares about power. Even Khanin is no more than…
It's not only about caring, it's about being smart. If you decide to trust someone completely, you should know them out and out. Family is a basic information.

As I said somewhere down here, I can not ignore the possibility of Ramil carrying her only to save his own back.

They really are trying very hard to convince us that Ramil's speech wasn't the best and he wouldn't have won on…
I was sure about what Khanin and Ava was going to say, but was wondering what Ramil would. He really touched a subject which everyone avoids thinking that it's a small issue, that there are bigger ones at hand. Of course there are, but you can not build a healthy, strong, and functioning society while the people are crippled by their near and dear ones. I really liked his speech. I expected him to expand on the view, but I guess time was also a factor.
On The Next Prince Jul 13, 2025
What's sad that even after all this, Ramil still says, " I did it, Father!" with a glint in his eyes, desperate for a little validation, only to be destroyed. It's a miracle that he is not having a complete breakdown at this point.

I never thought he did. Killing off his son would take Rachata out of the running to be king.
Yes, but out of fear, not disrespect. If Rachata commands him to do something, and tells him to keep that from Ramil, he has to obey that.
