They indeed changed so many things from the novel. Whole timeline is different. Even in the Manhua there was no mention of "Yin iron" and "Yi City arc" was earlier to arrive than other cases/steps/flashbacks bcz it was a big step in unraveling things related to Nie Mingjue.
