seen some comments (re)surfacing saying that ZRN is a bad actress because of how she portrayed WFY. firstly, excuse…
This is "my" first ever drama of ZRN and i can confirm that her acting skills are great. I can't think of any actress who can replace her for this role. She was just perfect for WYF.

I have not read the novel but i can say that her depiction of "EMOTIONAL DETACHMENT" was awesome in this. She neither overdid nor underdid it.

Omggg this is so cute and hella funny. 😂
Jung Mo-eum knew the tea lol. I can't believe she dug out the time capsule right away and read his secret and kept it a secret for over a decade. Choiseung's reaction when he found out was priceless. If that happened to me i will make a burrow and never come out of it.

I have always loved a Jung Somin drama. Her characters are always fun yet deep. Her acting is amazing. Btw this drama raises some real issues and I'm loving it because i think i can relate to alot of things happening in it.

Hey ! I just started Lord Seventh. Mind clearing some confusion and answering some questions for me ? (Bcz my arse is impatient)

So is Bai Wuchang "He Lianyi" ? The person Jing Qi is infatuated with ? Are He Lianyi and Wu Xi the same person too ?

Also what did Bai Wuchang meant by "Let's trade for one lifetime where you can have black hair again" ? What did he do ? What did he trade ? His Cultivation with Jing Qi's white hair ?

Whatever the hell was going on in the last episode .. lmfao like be serious. How do you mess up so bad like this ? And Is no-one gonna talk about Baek Sa-eon being Baek Jang-ho's son ?? Out of nowhere ? Why and how ? Why did he live like an orphan up until the age of 15 with the fisherman ?? And no-one dares to ask ? Idk about Hee-joo but I definitely need an explanation !!

I can't believe Baek Sa-eon waits for the scammer to call him everyday .. sir what can you achieve doing this ? He knows that the scammer doesn't even talk business. Imagine working so close to President and still falling for something like this ? I think he's more than capable of protecting his wife. What are you even doing ? 😭🙏🏻

But anyways I'm loving it so far, it has got me hooked. Can't wait to know how it turns out for them.

He is flawed in my opinion and that is when he literally stalks her for nearly 6 years. If any woman filed a report…
Exactly, he is flawed. When I started it I was like "Oh wow woww, he's a green forest" but slowly when I watched further I realized he has been stalking her for years after their *break-up* in school (or whatever you wanna say since they weren't in a relationship at that time) and that points to one direction only that he is ultra obsessed with her, he can't just let her go. He is willing to do anything, he can even k!ll someone to protect her, even if he can't keep her by his side.

It's just Wen Yifan always had feelings for him and they were like best friends since their high school days, always tagging along. He accompanied, helped and supported her through thick and thin which she liked and probably that's why she has a good persona of him in her mind. She has a fatherly feeling about him, when she asked him "Were you sent by my father to take care of me ?". And if you remember the book she was reading which she showed to SY named *Oranges are not the only fruit*, it had a line she kept highlighted "I want someone who is fierce and will love me until death, and know that love is as strong as death, and be on my side for ever and ever." That's what SY became for her.

She can't make out an image of a creep on seeing Sang Yan when she has really already witnessed disasters like Che Xingde, the man who harassed her in Yihe Daily or the man who harassed her in the shared apartment. She is uncomfortable around Mu Chengyun and Xiang Lang as well. She doesn't have a good feeling about men unless it's SY, the boy who once made her feel safe after her father passed away.

Actually I have watched way too many red flag leads recently and this is just what I wanted for a change. The…
Yes, I do think that Sang Yan has emotional needs of his own. Actually If I'm correct, being with Wen Yifan is his topmost emotional need.

He may look like the kind of ML who exists entirely to take care of the FL, but TFF makes it pretty clear that he has emotional needs of his own. He wants to be trusted, understood, and most importantly, he wants *HER* to genuinely choose him rather than simply depend on him.

A lot of what he does for her isn't him being completely selfless or having no needs, it's his way of loving her and creating the kind of safety where she can eventually reciprocate. He doesn't pressure her to give him what she's not emotionally capable of giving, but that doesn't mean he doesn't want it. His restraint is actually part of his character.

And I think there's an important distinction between “he doesn't demand emotional reciprocity from her” and “he doesn't need emotional reciprocity.” SY absolutely has feelings that can be hurt. He gets frustrated, jealous, disappointed, and affected by her distance. He just doesn't weaponize those feelings against her or make her responsible for fixing them before she's ready (unless when he is joking sometimes lol).

In fact, that's what makes him different from the completely unrealistic “perfect man with zero needs” fantasy. He has his own pride and emotional boundaries. He can be hurt by her, but he still chooses to understand where she's coming from. And when she finally starts letting him in, it's not meaningless to him, that's exactly the emotional intimacy he's been wanting all along.

So I wouldn't say she “literally didn't need to do anything for him.” SY doesn't need her to repay every single thing he does for her, but he does need her to eventually meet him emotionally. The story just makes him patient enough to wait for her to get there.

Honestly, that's probably why he feels so impossible compared to real men 😂. It's not that he has no emotional needs, it's that he has emotional needs and somehow possesses the self-control, patience and emotional maturity not to make those needs her burden. THAT is the truly fictional part.

This is a mature, well done drama, loved it. 1000/10.

Some people completely failed to understand Sang Yan. Yes, he is a green flag but it's not about him being a typical green flag, it's about how he becomes the light of Wen Yifan's life. Wen Yifan has suffered so much that she has lost her will to live, she's just surviving in this world until she meets Sang Yan "again". She hates herself and thinks she doesn't deserve the best of everything, she doesn't deserve him, she's not worthy. But it was Sang Yan, who truly loved her, and made her believe that every good thing in this world is made for her, and he will do anything to give her the best possible of everything because she DESERVES it. He never said he is going to be the only one to give her the best of everything, infact he made her believe that "even if he isn't the one giving her the best of everything, she still deserves the best of everything". And imo, that's the best message of this drama.

He did not make her love him, he made her love herself and expect good things from the world. He didn't just teach Wen Yifan, he first taught this to "HIMSELF" and indeed he taught everyone of us. Self love and confidence is the way to go. This is out in the open not just for Wen Yifan but all of us to understand and take notes lol. Wake up guys and stop hating on Sang Yan for being a good guy, he just loves himself (and Wen Yifan).

When Sang Yan asked Wen Yifan "What kind of person am I ?", she said " Proud, Confident and Passionate, like the sun", only then I realized that this is what she always wanted to be like and this is what she likes about Sang Yan as well.

The theme song Reng Xin (Willful) by Mayday is one of the best OSTs i've ever heard in my life and it explains Sang Yan's POV the best. Everyone should go listen to it. It made me bang my head every time I heard it in the intro. SOoooo GoOOOoooood.

Finished this in just 2 days.. this drama spoke to me on a different level! It has its funny and emotional scenes…
This is your introductory Xiao Zhan drama ?? Girl I highly recommend "The Untamed" and "The Legend of Zang Hai". You're gonna be spellbound to Xiao Zhan after watching him play Wei Wuxian and Zang Hai. This drama is nothing but a peak disappointment compared to the two I just named. I never want to see XZ acting in such a disgraceful drama like this ever again.

Finished it today and ohh my God finally. I was slumping throughout the show, it was that bad. My real question is, who forced Xiao Zhan and Yang Zi to act in such an immoral drama ?? I can't believe something disastrous like this existed in big 2022. Took me almost a month to finish, I finished two other dramas in between. Someone said "What a waste of good cast" and yes I can't agree anymore.

Everyone is a red flag in this one. What was even happening ?? Throughout the show it felt like a man is taking care of a girl child but that man is her bf. They're 10 years apart. Lin Zhixiao is kinda acting her age, it's understandable, she's hella immature, embarrasing and a bit clumsy but Gu Wei isn't. He knows she is a lot younger than her, still he got together with her and now that you are a couple you can't say things like "You're so cute, just like a child" when she asks "Am I pretty, beautiful ?", it will definitely make her insecure and overthink about it and you can't just say that if you're not a pedo. She does not want you to look at her like a child, telling her she's pretty is the most basic thing you can do. Why is that hard ?

I will never get over the words Gu Wei said while rejecting Gao Xi. That was such a REDRED moment, worst possible thing you could say to reject someone. He really said "We're too alike, I don't wanna come back home everyday from work and talk about work again", brother that doesn't explain the fact that you don't like her. You need to reject her, not make her think that you actually thought about your future together with her for a while. I don't know if I'm being irrational, tell me if i'm wrong.

Sansan was the most annoying character. Jin Shi and Yin Xi had some real problems going on and it needed viewers attention but they didn't even care to put a light on it properly. Yin Xi was in the wrong as well so why should only Jin Shi compromise, look for her and say sorry ?? Ik he was rude that day but that doesn't mean Yin Xi wasn't in the wrong. Yin Xi can take the initiative to say sorry as well.

Ep. 24 was the most satisfying when Lin Zhixiao kicked Gu Wei in his leg and said "YOU, B@STARD, THE WORLD DOESN'T REVOLVE AROUND YOU" and "YOU'RE A FAILURE AS A BOYFRIEND".

6/10, disappointment, will never recommend this to anyone. I respect Xiao Zhan and his acting skills alot, so respectfully I never want to see him acting in such type of drama ever again.

Lol I agree and that's why I said, he's not real, he's fictional. The character Sang Yan defies real life men. He came out of author's mind, he is not AI. Zhu Yi wanted this character to be a perfect man.

It's not simply just a story about " A woman needing a man to save her", it is a psychological story about trauma, self-isolation, and mutual emotional healing through love.

Wen Yifan literally isolated herself from Sang Yan and everyone else she liked because she didn't want them to be effected by all the bs happening in her life. She had no intention of taking Sang Yan's help. You see her first time in the drama as an independent woman who made herself after all the sufferings she went through and thinks every bad thing is in past now. Niether she took anyone's help nor is she "DAMSEL IN DISTRESS". Sang Yan just happened to be so understanding that he little by little opened her up and made her depend on him a little bit "emotionally" as her lover.

What does this drama have to offer besides an overly fantasized, polished, almost AI-like male lead and his stupid…
Actually I have watched way too many red flag leads recently and this is just what I wanted for a change. The reaction is too big because we obviously know Sang Yan is a fictional character and you will never see a man like this in real life. He's not AI like, he's just fun and great and a type of person who should exist in real life. A man the author created for Wen Yifan, to pull her out of her traumatic life experience. You don't accept him being a greenflag lol ?? What would you have him do instead, be more harsh on her ?

Women are the big audience for this drama and probably many of them can relate to Wen Yifan, to some extent, so what's the problem if they're praising Sang Yan ?? This is a drama, it should be dramatic, otherworldly and life changing.

please let me know if I would enjoy this if I continue or will the ML get in the FL way n get annoying?
Yes, it's a nice drama. Ignore the romance parts and it's all fine. The romance is really unnecessary and out of the box in this one but it doesn't bother much if you focus on the actual story.

"Are you looking for jobs ?"
"NO, the jobs are looking for me."

Sat in the interview like he was the one taking it. The level of confidence I need in my life. Sang Yan is the second most narcissistic person in the drama world i've seen, after Lee Young-joon from "What's wrong with secretary Kim". I love it when the main characters are so full of themselves, it becomes very fun to watch them. Love yourself first lmao.

Ep. 14 is what happens when there is a big age difference. Also Gu Xiao and Sansan are straight up annoying !! They can't even handle their own messy relationship and are trying to help Gu Wei and Lin Zhixiao.

Now I just want to finish it quickly so that I can know the ending atleast. It's an embarrassing watch.

Holy Sang Yan green forest !!! 😭

Brother you're too good, I'm gonna cry. Thank-god Wen Yifan has someone like you at the end of the day. After finishing this, ik that I'm going to hate living with the fact that there are no men like Sang Yan on Earth. Few episodes into this and the little things he does for her comfort and happiness are beyond satisfying. He is a good brother in Hidden love and now a good lover in The first frost. I'm swooning over him. Best character from both the dramas.
