I love slice or life genre. Being it a drama, anime or a book, things from this category are some of the best…
May I offer a rebuttal to some of what you have expressed playing devil's advocate?

Agreed. What puzzles me though is how Ik Jun who is his best friend is able to remain neutral for this long especially…
Yes but Ep 6 he pretty much told Ik Jun and Song Hwa that he was still hung up on his ex-girlfriend so that was at least an opening to begin the conversation. Besides they are all pretty nosy about each others lives so why is discussing the why of the relationship ending such a difficult thing.

Agreed. What puzzles me though is how Ik Jun who is his best friend is able to remain neutral for this long especially knowing what Jun Wan is going through. All of them for that matter seem to take the road of mind my own business when it comes to affairs of the heart.

Wintergarden couple: we dont want people at the hospital to find out about our relationshipAlso wintergarden couple:…
They are too cute. One of them needs to paste paper over the glass on her room door so they can have some privacy....and of course lock the door.
Sad that the proposal was thwarted. That was a twist I did not need.

Ik Jun comes into focus on my screen and within minutes I am grinning like a Cheshire cat. He is such a fool. Sorry U Ju, as much as I love seeing your cute face, this was not the camping trip for you. Daddy and step mom needed some bonding time. Ik Jun surprised me. He actually seemed to be having fun camping or maybe it was just the company he was with. Heh Heh.

So agree….. modern C-drama’s lack all the layers, depth & character development of the historical ones. Not…
Ah....Thanks
I will tackle those and let you know if they made the cut. LOL
I really enjoyed:

im hoping the fact that only songhwa and ikjun are the ones holding umbrellas in s2 poster means something
I think they are the only two that enjoy the rain. Jun Wan thinks the rain is a pain. There must be a story there. We just don't know yet what it is that is connecting them whenever it rains but knowing this writer's style, I am sure it is something dramatic.

We may already have been forewarned as the first poster shows a smiling Jun Wan but the second, he barely musters one up while everyone else is grnning broadly. Could this be because this is simply not his season for contentment?...hmmm
Thanks for the article. I am a huge fan of this drama.

Modern C Dramas are a hit and miss for me, not so with their Historical dramas which I think are much better executed. I can count on 1 hand those that are of high re-watch value and stored in my folder. While they seem to have a limitless production budget the actors/actresses are just so-so for me and sometimes downright cringe worthy. Now it could be because of the high bar set from watching "Nothing but Thirty" and "Love 020-series" (my very first two modern C dramas).
If someone could recommend others which are on the same level in terms of watchability, great script/actors etc...I am quite willing to keep an open mind and modify my thinking.

ALSO can we get some appreciation for Jae-hak? He acts so cute and treats his wife like a queen. He also cares…
I tell everyone who will listen that Jae Hak is the not so hidden gem of Hospital Playlist. LOL. His scenes from S1 where he breaks down at the kind gestures from Jun Wan (saving his job) and the strawberry farmer still gets to me. I am rooting for him to get the Best Supporting actor for this drama.

Ahh....another gratifying episode. This show just never disappoints but as satisfying as last week's was, it left me with a bunch of questions...like who was going to tell Jun Wan to remove his ring? and was he still wearing it to keep up the pretense that he was still in a relationship? That mystery was answered this week as he is no longer wearing it (Thank goodness). While I am on the subject of Jun Wan, I wondered, in as much as Song Hwa is the mother hen of the group and seemingly a good listener and able to impart some great advice, why did he not confide in her and lessen some of the burden from his breakup with Ik Sun instead of suffering in silence as he did. Ah well, he appears to be much more cheerful this week. I am still hoping for a clean break from Ik Sun. That is NO going back to her. Doesn't it seem though that every playlist from the band is for his benefit? Kind of like when you are going through something and every Sunday in church feels like the pastor's sermons are directed at you and you only.
Kudos to Jeong Won for that mental jiu jitsu he played on the mother in law of the patient whose baby was delivered with a congenital birth defect. That was just brilliant. I agree with Gyeo ul...He is just perfect...LOL. I was so looking forward to Min Ha's continuance with her questions...She has 4 left but alas it did not happen but maybe episode 7 will pick up where that was left off. From the previews, Seok Hyeong's mother might end up having to eat her words where a new daughter in law is concerned. Just a thought, I hope that Ro Sa's forgetfulness is not the beginning of something more serious given her age. S1 had her laughing off her not remembering that she had not driven to the hospital on one occasion. Sending up prayers for Hong Do....I hope he makes it under Jun Wan-he doesn't seem to be as bright as his adorable twin LOL.
Only 6 more episodes to go... Yikes!

Spot on. I too was quite disturbed within 5 minutes of the FL's entrance in The Strongest Deliveryman. Dropped it right after as a forewarning of what was to come.

For the ending of true beauty, I always thought it would be good if she didn't end up with any of the male leads,…
Devils Advocate....I started Run On after a recommendation from someone on MDL but I must confess I dropped it midway in Episode 5 after having high hopes. The FL confused me somewhat between her self martyrdom and stonewalling front with the ML. What did you like about it and would you classify it as a true romance drama? Other critiques I have read seem to prefer the 2nd leads storyline better. But I am a huge fan of the FL. What do you think?

You went there and I am so glad you did. Wonderful article. I have been puzzled for awhile on the depictions and characterizations lately of FLs in the romance genre and wondered what is the frame of mind of these Writers and Directors and who are the target audiences. Certainly not me who is neither aged or a prude. Itaewon Class, It's Ok to Not be Ok, and on and on and on, while attempting to portray the Fls in a self assured or doughty manner does little more than glorify toxic and generally fatuous behavior that would not be generally tolerated and it is painful and exhausting to watch. Sadly though, this has become the norm so as one who can differentiate between fantasy and realism, may just have to find something else to watch if this trend continues.
