Similarities: 1) Forced marriage via threat of suicide or one-night-stand. 2) FL is hit by a car, causing a head injury. 3) The FL misunderstands the ML, thinking he is cheating and/or doesn't love her, which motivates her to pursue divorce and give him up. 4) The ML falls for FL later, despite their forced marriage.
Differences: 1) This one is serious but sweet. The other is an antagonistic, love-hate comedy. 2) In this, the FL is in a coma and the ML enters her subconscious to heal her depression and win her back. In the other, the FL has amnesia and wants to divorce.
*Both versions had aspects I really liked, but I like this Li Mingyuan version better than the Chen Si version (and I LOVE Chen Si). I just didn't enjoy how the leads were constantly going head to head in the Chen Si version, plus the quality is lower than most of Chen Si's other productions. I rated that one 5.5☆. The leads in THIS version have synergy and healing, so I rated it 6.5☆. *I copy/posted this on the other MDL page as well.

May be because you only read some negative comments .This is the show with both mature ML and FL with least angst…
I completely agree. I watched the whole thing and felt frustrated with the FL's inability to communicate for almost 2/3 of the series (the entire middle). Yes, she EVENTUALLY grew and healed, so that she stopped unintentionally jerking the ML's emotions around... But there was DEFINITELY angst up to that point. Its all fine and good that she needed time to heal before dating again, but she could have at least made efforts to gain clarity and not assume or confuse the ML. Thankfully he was an extremely compassionate, patient, and understanding person. Since the ending was a good 'happily ever after', I guess the saying applies, "All is well that ends well." (But... it doesn't change the fact that the entire middle was angsty! 😉)
Your review is so great, so I don't want to add my own. More than any other vertical drama I've seen (so far), this one had near perfect production, story and acting, so I rated it 8⭐️. The only thing that would have made it a 9/10 for me would have been if the kiss scenes were authentic rather than implied (or the mediocre frozen-in-place-lip-press that was at the beginning and end). Maybe that shouldn't carry part of my rating, but it ALWAYS has, at least on every "romance" drama. I can't help it... for me, those kiss moments are ALWAYS the string that ties the whole vibe of the story together. If kisses are missing, I always feel like the drama is a little unfulfilling. Its obviously a viewer preference thing, nothing against this drama. Both Chen Si and Zhu Moyan STILL had an incredible relationship and chemistry together and this drama is EXCELLENT all around. That says A LOT about the talent of these two actors. 🩷.
Hey, JOME, we are talking about you in the above ⬆️ thread. 😉
I love the witty rhyming! I'm seeing some writing potential in your little comments 😉 ...
Ahh, but yes... the crazy vertical-drama boat. I might be on YOUR boat for now, since I'm still learning the ropes (wow, first time I've EVER used that idiom in context). I never thought I would enjoy vertical dramas when I gave them a try this last summer 2024. I was already addicted to horizontal-screen, 40 min-per-episode, 8-16-20-24-36-48+ episodes, full length C-dramas (and K). After attempting two LOW QUALITY, very cringey vertical short dramas on my iQIYI app (one that ended up costing me $17 in coins to finish), I considered the WHOLE vertical drama genre a complete ABOMINATION of China's cinematography industry. I scoffed to myself and shunned it. Then, on a wintery day... one of Zeng Hui's dramas assaulted my eyes when I accidentally hovered too long in YouYube, and suddenly I was pulled into the undercurrent 🌊. Well now, I'm NEVER leaving this ocean! Its way too magical ✨️.
Anyway, I agree on the teamwork. I always feel thankful for what the other MDL users contribute! 🙏🏻
YOU TOTALLY NAILED it with the description of ML´s character!!!Ah, he was so larger than life!!Amazing review!!
Aww!! Thank you! This was the first one I watched of these mobster versions. Yesterday, I watched 2 others, but I think this one might be my favorite ...so far. I like the ML's overall vibe and his patience and trust of the FL. 😍
Hey, JOME, we are talking about you in the above ⬆️ thread. 😉
Alrighty! ☺️ This is wonderful. And thanks for ALL your hard work!! I would have been redundant had JWells not hinted that you probably already did it. We'll patiently wait for (and appreciate) your shīfù's approval / result! 💛

I guess Chang Gao Ming needs an MDL page, huh? Finding his dramas in an organized way has been a real pain in the arse. I first saw him last week here in this 80's drama and then again today in, "The Relentless Pursuit" / "Kingpin's Baby", but only because of the comments on Liu Lanbo's drama, "No One but You". After we upgrade to a paid subscription, is THAT how we gain access to request an actor be added?
Boring in my opinion. These slow burn style works better in a regular drama with other characters to do the heavy…
Aaahh... That's it. Your descriptive comment helps me better understand one of the key differences between miniseries and regular series. I couldn't quite put my finger on why, but now I'm realizing short dramas by nature don't always have enough time / substance to carry a slow burn romance (unless the production / script is exceptionally creative). Thank you!

Thank you both for having this conversation here so I don't watch it. I DO hate feeling depressed 💔.
Yes, just when I thought the FL was going to be redeemed with finally reuniting the whole family, she runs off…
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and the drama links. I hadn't seen ANY of these dramas, so I kept referring back to your comment and watched all 3 of them over the last couple days! I enjoyed each one! I liked all the leads. I'm familiar with Wang Yiran and Hou Chengyue, but it was my first time seeing the other 4 leads (thank you!!). Li Shengjie was so sweet. I am with you, I definitely WANT dramas where the main leads have good synergy, chemistry (kisses too) and especially a happy ending (unless its a psych-thriller mind-bending Hitchcock style drama). My favorite genres are romance and sci-fi / fantasy. There's so many dramas to sort through though, and I wish life was longer so I could watch them all! Haha. I appreciate that you share your initial impressions, which helps users like me choose efficiently what to spend time on. 🩵
