Best ever!!!
Love love love this short drama... so much emotions and so much meaning.Best part: NO NC scenes!!!!! So tired of all the explicit scenes in other dramas. This is so refreshing! All the actors carried this through soooooo well. The screen writers and director really did such a great job with this drama.
I still think about this series when i feel that people want to talk about religion and LGBTQ+.

Full Story (DEMO) on YT
The 4 episodes listed here are not as good as the full 8 episodes (DEMO) which is available on YT. Both the leads are good looking and will make you swoon. The full storyline is way more satisfying and shows the development of their relationship better. Will not spoil the show for you guys. All can be watched at one go as each episode is only about 19 mins. Was this review helpful to you?

Worth watching for the fight scenes, costumes and supporting roles/ characters
The story is pretty standard: Good but predictable. Both ML and FL are great actors and their chemistry gave me a fluffy kinda feel. The ending is predictable too ya...I enjoyed watching the second leads and supporting casts more than the ML and FL. I was rooting for all of them to have happy endings, even the villain best buddy (just because he is good looking, haha). But... you will have to watch to know what happened.
Special mentions:
The Emperor of Jinxiu, played by Qin Tian Yu. His initial over-the-top reactions seemed overdone at first, til one realizes why he is like that. His micro-expressions and acting were on-point. His chemistry with Princess of Susha was a slow burn. Was so rooting for them!
Xia Jing Shi's character was the hardest to decipher. Chen He Yi played it well. Not sure if it was his good looks and puppy eyes... just can't seem to hate him until.... argh!
So, overall, good to watch during the holidays.

There is definitely a twist coming up, i can feel it!!!
The story starts out slow but the build-up is worth waiting for. From the way the story is panning out, i know there must be a twist in the coming episodes... i can feel it in my bones. All that silent reading of financial times and listening to BLQ's friends talking and sharing of insider info, LXF must be quietly learning and planning something. He really can't be that dense.Like BLQ, i think LXF knows how to seduce the person he likes. "You did that on purpose" is repeated in the series. It is a hint to the audience. Can't wait for the coming episodes.
It is frustrating how LXF's family treat him but i think that is how many people from rural areas are... the act of selling of own children for a better future isn't a practice confined to China. It happens in every country. It is sad though.
Stay on this road!!! I think the ending will be worth it.

Keeps you looking forward to the next episode
Great face cards (Ollie and Shuyuan) and the storyline keeps you guessing. Both the male leads play their roles well, on point.Interesting directing and editing. Script writers did a great job too. The novel was a little too explicit and this screen version is more mellowed and 'romantic'.
Both the female supporting characters are so damn irritating.. hahaha! the male supporting actors are good too.
Hope to see both Ollie and Shu yuan in other dramas in the future.

One of the nice surprises this year from Korea
Binge-watched this.... just the right level of everything. Nothing too weird or cringe or sexual or excessively violent ( for Korean drama standards, anyway). At one point, just wished he actually said yes to the unstable idiot, Soohyun.... but i think the ending is really satisfying and leaves a nice sweet and warm feel. The psychotic episodes may cause some viewers to feel uncomfortable or disturbed. So, please be aware and close your eyes...
Short drama to quench your BL thirst. hahah!
