yeah.. i don't think he really love fei fei. he just like to be in control and manipulate everything. maybe it's like a game for him, esp for fei fei. he like to play good father role, just like he like to play good husband role until Hong Yue no longer her ideal lover and started to rebel. Then, good husband role will end and he being his truly evil self.
Most underrated drama.. This drama has amazing martial art sequences.. and Cheng Yi deliver the best. This drama deserved more than this. If you love wuxia drama, this drama is a must watch.

He has few screentime in earlier eps, he has more screentime later esp on current timeline. Also the other stories are as important to connect everything. Everyone is excellent in this drama, and every character is important.
I just finished this and it is so sad like ive watched so many other sad dramas including cheng yi's other ones…
The drama of CY that make me cried until I can't breath is Promise of Chang'An. I cried for Huai An too.. but if compare, POC is the one. Not only sad, but frustrated and angry! 😅 And I am still bitter with that drama!
Yeah.. it continuously dropping for some times already, the haters attacking all his drama.All CY drama has obvious dropping, even the old dramas. MLC took longer time since this drama is love by many and is great. But eventually it dropped too. These people are sick, the were intimidated with CY and always claimed CY is mediocre and attacking him everywhere. They desperate to pull down all his work to proof their points for fulfilling their sick mind. In actuality, CY always proof his excellent and great work. MLC is a classic and until now it's still on rerun on cctv. MLC is currently douban rating 8.5 with 900k voters.This fact itself probably becomes these haters nightmare.

Fei fei being too naived in believing her dad really annoyed me. Either she is in denial (better this one) or she plainly naive. (I'll be disappointed if it the later). Also dad is the biggest villain and he just put all the blame to the dead Xu.
