That was explained before in previous comments down below.. it's some kind of medicine for burn if im not mistaken.. but i couldn't find details explanation, so i omitted it.. some said, because of that explosion at the end of ep. 28.
But the form request for shooting write this as 40 eps. Actually there is no official statement say it is 24 eps too. Don't know where Marcus get his information.

But there is detailed that when sister died, the rain wash away the dye.. (the water dropped was white ish), but then his hair is more white than original dye. But, on final act, yes also could be, he just dye his hair white to play the char to convince the enemy. And then the hair just grow out. Haha..
1) Ye Zheng said Huai An came and left with nothing. All his belongings were taken away without a trace. This suggests that they knew he was alive — just missing.
2) Why was he imprisoned? There are several theories I’ve read. But after rewatching the episode and reading them again, the one that feels the most logical to me is this:
Huai An was taken by Cen Pickle. I agree that there are two factions within Tiemo, and Cen Pickle agreed to work with Huai An under certain conditions. He’s also the only one who knew Huai An’s location. They kept questioning Huai An about the purpose of his life, and I believe Huai An answered that it was grain — meaning the people’s prosperity and peace. That’s why, in the special episode, Huai An said: “The King of Tiemo is already dead. Is the one inside the ritual hall on Mount Shiluoman willing to reconcile?” Cen Pickle then said that this person wanted Huai An to do something as the price for reconciliation. And Huai An replied that once this was done, the past would be buried. Cen Pickle is Tiemo, and the person behind him wanted Huai An to plan or strategize something — possibly to win over Tiemo. The price was reconciliation between the countries, which would bring peace and prosperity to the people. This fits Huai An’s character and also makes sense given his relationship with Cen Pickle.
As for why Huai An’s hair turned black again: We saw his hair turn gray when his sister died, and again in the final act when he was gambling with his life. Huai An was born with white hair, so extreme emotional distress causes his hair to turn white, and it returns to black once he overcomes it. I think Huai An is simply special in that way.
Other theories say he was taken by the Huben army as payment for a debt, and some even think YFS is still alive. But it’s hard to connect those theories with Cen Pickle acting as the middleman.
