Thank you for this article! Like others said, rating is subjective, people will have different taste and opinions. Just like I sometimes don't understand the hype about a popular drama, others won't feel the same way as I do about my favorite shows. That's okay, I don't get upset over things like that.
But I have to admit the way the rating system is used, kind of annoys me sometimes. I won't talk about the good moment to rate a drama (but certainly not before the drama even started airing! ) since it has already been covered in this article, but of how it is rated. And by that, I don't mean the difference in appreciation of a drama but the meaning you give to the note. In the comment section of a drama, it is not rare to see comments like : « I really didn't like this drama. 7/10 » or « This drama was a waste of time ! Gave it 7,5/10. ». If 7 is bad, then why have a rating system that goes from 1 to 10? I think it explains the difference between what is considered bad rating by the participants and their border to start a show. Because the global rating is distorted. If you make a research using filters, among the dramas of 2018 there's only 4 pages of dramas with rating lower than 7 and 28 pages of dramas rated 7 and more. With this kind of rating, I find it hard to have a good appreciation of the general opinion on a drama.
Such a beautiful drama ! It's been a long time since I loved a drama as much as this one. It gives both feelings of melancholy and comfort, grief and heart warming feelings. I would recommand it to those who appreciate more mature themes and slice of life kind of dramas with realistic characters.
It's been a long time since I enjoyed a japanese drama as much as this one. I haven't read the manga so I can't tell if it's faithfull to the original story but overall I liked the cast (adults and children) and found the story catchy.
I think it's part of the promise he made to his older-self. He lived his life the same way his older-self did (well except for the best friend part) and raised his daughter. But unlike his older-self he doesn't die from cancer, he is finally freed from his promise and can go back to her.
Ok....can someone help me understand why Joon Soo and Jong Pyo are cousins? because I dont get it...Jong Pyo father…
Joon Soo and Jong Pyo have the same grandfather. Joon Soo's father isn't related by blood with the Grandmother, he is the son of her dead husband and his mistress.
I hope it makes sense :)
Why? Why! Why did it get so boring?! It was soo good in the beginning! :'(
Because this drama is all about the characters and their relationships. From the moment Seong Jun and Hye Jin have found each other again, everything has been different and in my opinion the drama has partly lost what made it so enjoyable. Hye Jin's and Ha Ri's relationship isn't the same anymore. It's been a while since the last scene between Ha Ri and Shin Hyuk. And last but not least (at least for me ^^) : Jackson couple. I still like every moment we get to see them together but now most of the time even if there's cute and fun scenes there's also this bittersweet feeling. It's hard to see Shin Hyuk's smile and sad eyes.
I've tried... I've really tried to go with the flow and to like Hye Jin and Seong Jun as a couple. I can see their bond, they are childhood friends who care for each other but I can't feel their chemistry as a couple.
I like the idea of first love being the one and only love, it's really romantic. But to be honest I think this idea is really overused and loses its magic.
I guess i'll be a "jackson couple" shipper till the end. T^T I love every scenes with Shin Hyeok and Hye Jin, they are really cute and seem so natural together. :)
From the first episode, one of the recurring themes seems to be "let's focus on the supporting characters" or "shine the light on the ones in the shadow". I can't help thinking that in this case Shin Hyeok could be the one who ends up with Hye Jin. :)
But maybe that's just my second lead syndrome speaking XD
I'm a hugeeee Jang Hyuk fan but I've got to say his acting in this drama has been aboslutely terrible. It's too…
I'm a huge fan of him too but I have to admit that it's not his best performance. Though I still like him in this role, I agree that in the first part of the drama he sometimes goes a little over the top. But I think it's getting better in the second part of the drama :)
