sigh. this drama was soo perfect. i absolutely loved the combination of a murder mystery whodunnit type genre + the nostalgic 80s vibe + its examination of complex family relationships and friendships. i just love a time travel fix-it, perhaps because it's a wish-fulfillment scenario but it's such an interesting concept, and a trope you can repeat while getting a different product everytime. also the choice to end on that specific question/suggestion?! it was like the cherry on top. i've yet to find a drama like this.
I think Kang Cheol and Yeo Ri will be endgame. Yun Gap is dead, and even if the FL tries to bring his soul back, I think she will end up failing.
They didn't really flesh out Gap's character before killing him off, while it's the opposite with Kang Chul and his character arc is set up really well for the upcoming narrative (grappling with his own mortality and feelings for humankind after having lived in resentment for so long). Plus they immediately made sure the FL knew it was Kang Chul who possessed the body to avoid any confusion romance-wise.
I do think Gap will play an important part of the the story, especially the mystery of the palace conspiracy, but won't be the endgame.
