her mum is just a huge coward tbh, afraid to speak up and comfortable with denying any responsibility towards WYF so she can live easily with her new family. I think her frequent calls are just a way to selfishly make her feel better about herself, but she's long ago abandoned her duty as a mother. she seems like a bit of a pushover, which is why she's quick to let go of whatever the aunt does. and she doesn't even register the amount of trauma WYF had to go through bc of the aunt and uncle, precisely bc she doesn't care. she's happy to ignore it so it doesn't pop her own bubble of comfort
Julia xiang needs more appreciation!! She's sooo pretty and the way we can see the difference in the way she acts as mu qingge vs xue ranran, while also retaining the same 'essence' between the characters, is amazing!
Also storywise, I love how they're developing XRR's identity after she learns she is MQG. I noticed her hairstyle is now similar to the one she used to have. I can't wait for her to get all her memories back, but in a way, I also like how XRR is secure in her own identity and recognises she's long evolved from her past self. It's so interesting to see how much she has grown since the start! Her character evolution is just immaculate.
