Let ask y’all these questions: 1.) Do you think it is partially Knock’s fault for Korn’s cheating? (Knock…
@bluesky951
How ironic that Korn became what he was always afraid Knock would become.

1. There are always consequences to your actions. Cheating is a choice so NO I don’t believe that Knock is in anyway to blame for Korn’s cheating.

2 Because of my personal views on cheating I can’t honestly answer that but I will say this (and I've said this before in a previous comment) “forgiveness is the final act of love".

(Having to move the drama along I'll put aside my views on the contrived scene (I watched a YT clip) when Knock did a complete flip and told Korn he had finally told his parents that he loves Korn etc).
Didn’t Fai say something in TWM about "don’t judge people until you have walked in their shoes". Does Knock love Korn…simple answer YES! It would take a big man to begin to forgive someone who has trampled all over your heart making your love look foolish….despite his immature ways. his childishness and current pettiness Knock could be that man now because he did some growing up when he did what he’d been pressuring Korn to do...,maybe he starts to see it from Korn's perspective.

"until you love someone nothing else matters". (e e cummings)

No one knows how this season will end, alot can happen from now until the end. I understand everyone is upset…
@Pigeon3
So what !!!….so plenty. You obviously have no idea of the psyche of Fandom culture.

I think you need to stop being condescending to those posters who are upset and hurt by this current series TNC and let them have their say without putting them down. Cheating on your SO is a serious matter for many people and if I was to guess many people posting here have experienced it. It’s a wound that many people never come back from. So yes, if watching this drama brings back bad memories for some then it is personal for them.

"Don't blame the writer when the actors agreed so continue with this series even after reading the script.” What’s your point?
# I’ve posted my comment as a spoiler…I’m not sure when a spoiler is a spoiler but I’ve noticed there a many spoilers here so if anyone could enlighten me on spoiler etiquette I’d appreciate it...thanks :)

In the episode where Korn is busted (is it 8?) I’m eager to find out the dialogue the writers pen Korn for his reason for doing the horizontal mambo with his boss. Hopefully the next episode (8) is crunch time.

“It didn’t mean anything”.
“I didn’t think you loved/wanted me anymore”
“I was drunk and didn’t know what I was doing”
or the best one
“The dog made me do it :)))”

You know what, the more I think on this the more I'm beginning to suspect that Korn had already started ‘cheating’ before the actual sex. Let me explain: from reading comments here Korn “confided” to his boss about things that were happening in his relationship with Knock so I’m assuming it included some negative aspects with what was going on with Knock. So,

- was it a ‘one time only’ conversation confiding to his boss or was there more?
- did Korn (unconsciously) make himself out to be a victim while confiding to Pete.

Or maybe all Korn wanted was to feel validated.

Of course Pete listened with “sympathetic” ears but what Korn was really doing was disrespecting Knock by talking to another person about their problems. Surely respect is a priority in any committed relationship. Because of this I think Korn was already engaging in a relationship (without releasing it) with his boss before it became sexual…an emotional relationship, which may have made the transition to something physical easier.

As I’ve mentioned before I’ve only seen Ep.1 and plan to binge-watch the remaining episodes after TNC has finished. Today (for the first time) I almost wavered to re-commence watching since I’m commenting here without having watched the drama up to the present episode so relying on posters’ comments to get my information to make my comments. So people, please correct me if I've stated any incorrect facts in my comment/s.

Since we're still talking about this, I thought about how the front office (writers/director/producers) could…
@Not a Robot
Some good points/suplots you’ve made, thanks. I, like most of us commenting here, can’t make heads nor tails of why the writers went down this path…has there been one viewer that has liked Korn’s cheating? I’ll be very curious after the show has ended whether the writers will have the courage to face their audience and address this issue.

Re: Farm’s sexual assault:
I would have had more admiration for the writers if they had addressed this issue instead of going off on a tangent to introduce a “bad” element to Korn’s character which the fans surely would never want in a million years.

Farm: was always (imo) shown to be a naive young man. For the first time he is falling in love with another man and being introduced to “the joys of sex”. His sexual assault would be very traumatic to a person like Farm...it’s probably more common than we think and thankfully is slowly oh so very slowly being talked about….now that’s real life! Bright’s more than likely done this so often he doesn’t even have a conscience to feel any sort of guilt or even question “does this person want to do this” and you are right Bright is a medical doctor, he knows what it was, we all know what it was, it was coercion not consent...didn’t Farm say something like “don’t do this”, that equates to NO!!

If the writers wanted show realism in this drama then I think Farm’s “birthday present” from Bright should have been an very important issue to address...we witnessed it. I’m thinking (hopefully) that the writer/s will address it in further episodes.

BTW many of us comment about the writer/s but do we know who the writer/s are for TNC?...I couldn’t find anything about them in the cast information although I haven't looked elsewhere.

I'm getting a bit tired of all this negative trash talk on here tbh. Yes, they're facing problems and yes it sucks…
@gingercupcakes
I don't hate you on this but.........

"all this negative trash talk on here "
...that was just plain mean and condescending.

"Which is why they seem so out of character"
..so Korn having sex with his boss while Knock was coming out to his parents just seemed out of character but wasn't??

"I'm curious how most of the people hating on the show would've written it if they had the choice"
...well if they're not writers then it becomes a moot point.

"living in a fantasy rainbow-world."
...and maybe others would much rather watch a series living in a fantasy rainbow-world, nothing wrong with that and they don't deserve your sarcasm.

"I don't care I just wanna defend........."
...as is your right but you could have gone about it in a more friendly way. You obviously have no empathy for the viewers/fans who are totally disappointed and have been hurt by the turn of events in TNC,,,some are unable to find anything to defend and that's their right too.

@Salty_bae
Yes, ratings number is very sad to see. I believe the backlash of introducing this "bad" element to Korn's character is indicative of the falling ratings, I think it started at 7.9.....oh well the writers "have made their bed now they have to lie in it".

I feel like I’m the only person who’s still watching this show and somewhat enjoying it lmfao. Anyways, here’s…
@minsugapd
Good comment...you can probably relate well to Korn's dilemma given your personal comment of being gay...thanks for that.

Even though cheating is a choice (it’s not a mistake in my view) I think emotional vulnerability is very complex and is probably different for those who experience it and how they act out too. One of them needs to step up and start the conversation, it shouldn't matter who it is.

The most stupid thing a cheater does is to think he/she will never be found out…they think they are ”bullet proof” but here’s the thing about a cheater’s secret...when a secret is between 2 people it is no longer a secret because the other person knows your secret.

It's amazing in a love relationship how much we keep inside (that's bugging us about the other person) so as not to hurt the feelings of your SO but in the end it all comes out in the wash and all it does is eventually hurt the relationship.

Relationships are a working progress but many don't find that out until it's too late. We may be the smartest animals on the planet but the dumbest at the same time but that's what makes us so frustratingly different from each other no matter who we are, where we come from or what we do in our daily living. Dr. Phil preaches you have to acknowledge it to fix it so hopefully Korn (and Knock too) won't have to be hit over the head by a bit of 4 b 2 to wake up to see the damage they have caused and are causing each other. Good luck boys, the ball's in your court now!!

Once again, a nice refreshing comment to read.
“Pardon me, but do you mind if we assassinate your character just a little bit?”
— The Agony Booth, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country

I only watched Ep.1 and then decided to wait until the show was over and then binge watch it so I’ve only got a couple of YT videos that I’ve watched and many comments from here to go by in knowing what’s gone down so far in TNC. I have only watched BR once and TWM so many times I can probably recite the dialogue verbatim :) And so, with only seeing 1 episode so far, I would like to put some of my thoughts/feelings down at this time in the drama concentrating on Korn/Knock couple. I’ve tried to be impartial when putting down my thoughts but found it difficult because of my own views of cheating on your SO and also the damage it does to the person cheated on…some never come back from that.

I don’t do IG, Twitter or look at BTS videos, my main source of information has been, like I said, reading the comments here on MDL and some YT videos with comments.

"Fan culture, or fandom, is a term which describes communities built around a shared enjoyment of an aspect of popular culture, such as books, movies, TV shows, bands, sports or sports teams, etc.”

Viewers of the show (after TWM) who became invested in Korn/Knock couple wished and pleaded for another season and were rewarded with the announcement that a 3rd instalment would be produced…can you imagine just how happy the fandom of this show was….I know I was absolutely looking forward to TNC. My oh my how things have changed since that announcement and now many fans have had the rug pulled out from under them so I understand how angry and hurt some are regardless of what others think of their comments.

Reading comments here I get a sense of anger, disappointment, hurt, bitterness but for some reason not hate, well at least not the type of hate that becomes cancerous. Fans of the show are hurting and when people are in pain they react in a hurtful way.

Regardless of whether TNC story ends up being good/great or just plain awful (imo) I think the writers completely misjudged how the viewers/fans' reaction to TNC was going to be…"as long as we give them the happy ending they’ll be okay with it” mentality. I think they knew there would be some backlash but not to the extent that it has garnered so far…to me that smacks of arrogance. It seems to me that the writers have turned some of the main characters a 180 (I’m thinking mainly Korn here). By the comments I’ve read about Ep.7 Korn betrays Knock in the most humiliating way which will, I’m guessing, in future episodes, derail their relationship, be it permanently or for a period of time and for the fans it’s “more than you can shake a stick at” (Aussie slang which basically means more than you can handle). It is my belief that when this happens in a committed relationship, regardless of whether couples stay together or not, then that relationship is never the same again. The one whose trust has been crushed never looks at the person they loved and trusted most with the same eyes ever again…it's soul destroying. Maybe the love remains but just a little piece of your heart dies.

Even though it is only half way through the chapter, the writers (imo) by way of Korn’s cheating just blew up one of the best and well-loved fiction BL couples. Of all the tropes they could have chosen to add more drama to the "fear of coming out and its side issues" part why cheating….that’s just lazy but then again I guess, because they decided to add a “bad” element to Korn's character, they chose the best of the best trope: cheating. By introducing Korn’s cheating into the storyline they have (imo) brought about character assassination of Korn and irreparable damage. Also re: the whole sex scene...how do you un-see that. And from what I’ve read in some comments Korn tells 'what’s his name’ "don’t tell Knock"…that’s just adding insult to injury but to be fair I haven’t seen the sex scene or Korn’s expression when saying it or the moments after.

Taken from a website TvTropes:
"When an established character becomes largely different, exhibiting behavior contrary to what has been previously shown. This is not a matter of organic growth. Rather than gradually changing in response to events and experiences, a derailed character will exhibit shockingly unusual behavior that implies malfeasance or incompetence on the part of the writers.
Note that organic growth does not necessarily mean 'benign growth', and it is perfectly possible for a previously good-natured character to end up embittered or depressed without falling victim to this trope. This is rare however, and often unpopular.

In published fiction, derailment is usually caused by an author having a certain story idea and needing to stretch the characters' personality to fit. In the worst cases, the author may end up speaking for the character. In works with multiple authors, a new author may have a wildly different interpretation of a character, causing him to write his version of the character instead of the one established by canon."

I’m not sure but I think TWM is adapted from a novel but I don’t know about TNC. So in saying that I’ll continue my comment. I’ve asked myself that when they decided to include cheating between Korn/Knock couple why did the writers (or PTB) choose Korn over Knock. Because Korn’s character had already been well established as not perfect but likeable (my words) in BR and TWM and that he’d also experienced been cheated on (by Mew) and since we (and I use that word loosely) thought that if cheating was going to be part of the equation then Knock would be the culprit. Wrong!! I think the writers knew by choosing Korn it would have the biggest impact on the wider audience and to this day I still don’t know why the writers/PTB wanted to make such a huge impact on its audience in the way they went about it. It was a huge risk to take and in time we will know/find out just how big a risk it was (at the time of my posting the rating number has dropped to 7, I think it started at 7.9)....I guess we will be shown the “why” in the final episode/s.

I know that writers have the right to write a story their way but I do think that the fans are also part of the collective of a drama…they are the “bums on seats” so to speak who make the effort to watch and comment and usually, as happens, make it successful. I also wonder if some (script) writers (and not necessarily in this drama either) really know the psyche of fandom culture of a particular drama, especially those who are emotionally attached to a particular character/s within that drama. I’ve only experienced it once and that was with the US dramedy “Castle”. The fandom was either for the ML or the FL and it got to the point of attacking the ML in a very personal way which was brutal, thank goodness he had a thick skin. I vowed never to be part of a fandom or “shipper” clique every again and have to this day never re-watched an episode of Castle.

To put it simply Korn/Knock love each other, that’s a given and Korn’s cheating is now canon…so to those who are in shock, are hurting, saying they will not see the season out, hate Korn etc all I can do is empathise and to quote one of my favourite quotes about love: "forgiveness is the final act of love”. (Maya Angelou)….easier said than done though, right!!

As stated before I’ve only watched Ep.1 and much to my surprise haven’t found it at all difficult to not watch any episodes since Ep.1…that’s telling for me of how I’m feeling atm. I’ve enjoyed most comments here even those that have been blunt, mean, disappointing or sad. I come here nearly every day to play catch up with people’s comments so to say I’m disappointed is an understatement but I have promised myself to give it a go, to plough my way through the 13 episodes…I always need to know how the story ends. I do agree with @Pedro though that TPTB will give us a happy ending but at the end of the day will the end justify the means?

Sadly, for me, I probably will never see the character Korn in the same way again. I know it’s not the end of the world, I like the Korn character and as I said before he wasn’t perfect but he was likeable. The thing that baffles me most of all about the writing of this saga is why the writers chose this path to take with the Korn character, it’s not a nice path and for some fans it’s the end of the road for them regarding Korn. Add to this that sometimes fans can’t/are unable to differentiate between the actor and the character so hopefully Max (the actor) doesn't cop too much flack because of the introduced cheating trope. Max and Tul have become amazing actors because of these 3 instalments (I haven't seen them in any other drama). Their acting has improved ten-fold as each instalment was produced and I hope I have the good fortune to see them in other dramas to come their way.

As BL stories become more and more popular I think whenever future viewers ask for an opinion on whether to watch BR, TWM and TNC many past viewers will speak about the thing that sadly sticks most in their minds…Korn was a cheater...we always seem to remember the bad things more than the good things.....oh well, c'est la vie.

Sorry for the length of my comment...I didn't think I had an awful lot to comment on but there you go! If you read it thanks.

it's literally written in the article that he admitted to breaking her ribs. yes, she was a bitch but that doesn't…

Wow…after reading some of your comments your hate for Kim Hyun Joong is insurmountable. His fans are not blind, they just choose to believe the truth as stated by a judge of the courts. Do you even care about the truth? His true fans choose to support him unlike you, that is not being blind that is just not seeing eye to eye with your feelings about the actor.

And now you are hating on his parents and grandparents (crappy and a piece of work you said). Do you even know them to pass judgement on them. "Judge not, that ye be not judged” and no I’m not religious. Your hate has even gone sideways to include members of his family and when this type of hate continues it becomes cancerous.

KHJ is not the first celebrity this has happened to and he certainly won’t be the last. He knew it would be tough to make a comeback…at his press conference he said it best: “the viewers will judge me”.

All that is left for me to say is what a sad day it would be if you are teaching your children (if you have children) how to hate the way you do.

@ Pincolino
I don't want to sound mean either but no one is putting a gun to your head to read the comments...as they say "if you can't stand the heat, keep out of the kitchen".

I read each comment as that person's personal opinion of the show which could differ from my personal opinion. One meaning of opinion I read which is how I see opinion: "personal belief or judgment that is not founded on proof or certainty". Who knows by Ep.13 some of the "bashers" may have a change of heart with their personal opinions and give TNC a big tick.

It's not the end of the world if some people's opinion differs from yours. In my life's experience (and I've been around a long time) I've learned there are some things you can't change no matter what...please don't get down about it too much, keep posting your positive comments, I've enjoyed them.
If we wish all the bashers to leave how would that show a balanced view of TNC and that's why I come to this site to get a balanced view...RL negative people will always see things initially in a negative way, that's just life so reading the negative comments hasn't deterred me in any way from looking forward to completing TWMTNC

Because I remember the agony of watching TWM week by week I only watched Ep.1 of TNC and then decided to wait until the show was finished and binge watch the remaining episodes since the first episode didn't 't meet MY expectations (I didn't hate it but didn't love it either) and it's only now after reading many comments (including yours) I've realised that this season IS the next chapter in K&K's relationship, it's not a continuation of their TWM relationship that I think I subconsciously thought it would be.

I will still come here to read the comments (including yours hopefully) so now when I read negative comments on a particular episode I tell myself "well that's your opinion, mine may differ from yours when I come to watch it". I want to see that rating number increase since it started at 7.9.

Cheers...have a "ripper" (Oz slang) of a day Pincolino :)
