I'm glad someone mentioned Yihwa's hair. Maengmum is such a pretty girl but this hairstyle did not do her any…
@Demy_Martin
And I'm glad I wasn't alone on this...it just annoyed the crap out of me and as you say she is a really pretty girl. She looked great with it tied up.

i think fan clubs for real couples is a thing in thailand. The actor playing Bright is gay irl and is married…
Pedro, do you mean the actors or their characters?

Thanks for your reply.
Looks like I'll have to do a re-watch of BR (I've only ever watched it once compared to many times with TWM) if the K/K fan club started in that series.

I remember reading some time ago that Bright was a gay married man so I get that they could have a fan club but I still don't get why K/K (being non-celebs) would have a fan club...we all know that when something is put out there on the internet highway then it's there forever. Hopefully by doing a re-watch of BR I might "get it" and understand a little bit more of why "ordinary" people have fan clubs. Cheers :)

What am I going to do with myself now that this series has end? Short answer, the same thing I did before and…
@Jon Smith
"This show had the potential to be so much more than it was, but in the end, it was what it was."
So true Jon Smith. This is the thing that makes me the most downhearted when initially it was Korn 's cheating.

"Otherwise, if everything was working properly there would've never been room for Art to come between them in the first place".
That's a really good point I never thought about.

Loved Fai...it's not often I come across young people today who don't think of themselves first which is very typical of this generation...whoever raised her from childhood she obviously had a good and solid foundation of right and wrong together with good moral fibre.

Farm/Bright: I saw very little (if at all) chemistry between them i.e. the actors. Well at least by the writer/s keeping them together it keeps them from "harming" other potential innocents who may cross their paths.

Being a glutton for punishment I'll probably re-watch. Many times if I'm "iffy" about a drama I'll re-watch because more times than not I see and hear things I missed the first time. :)

I thought Bad Romance was WAAAAYYY worse than this.
@Gottillc
You make a really great point in how important the issue of rape and sexual assault is in BL dramas and how it is glamorised. I don’t think I’ve seen this issue in other Asian dramas as much as in Thai BL dramas.

"in TWM the series, Korn "took advantage" of Knock in a drunken state”.
If I can make a couple of points regarding this that has always been in the back of my mind whenever this scene is talked about and can I add that I never saw Korn as “innocent”, I always saw him as the hornier of the two.

Firstly:
in Ep.1 when K/K were running around the court (as punishment) Knock wanted to have a ride on Korn’s back because he was tiring from running to which Korn replied:
“living in Bangkok has surely made you more pansy”.
I thought this was a funny comment for Korn to make (especially the more part) unless he’s always questioned himself (internally) if Knock was gay/bi which would have to have been when they were kids (do kids think like that at that age, roughly at 12 yrs old anyway? idk) or was Korn just having a go at Knock for wanting to be piggy-backed. Now I’m only going by the English subbing that was shown on my tv screen….sometimes I often sense that the Thai spoken by the characters to what I see translated on the screen is vastly different i.e. maybe when “Korn” was speaking Thai he may have said a different word other than pansy but I took if on face value at the time. This is the first drama that has made me frustrated for not understanding the native language.

And secondly:
I agree that Korn took advantage of Knock while in a drunken state but I think that the setting was ripe for this to happen i.e. the 2 of them alone +alcohol + reconnection +years long friendship +good old fashion desire/lust +no inhibitions.

I don’t believe Korn got Knock drunk to have sex with him. I saw it as: they went to the bar, started drinking, the 2 sisters approached them and joined them, they went to a homestay room where they played the card game, they kissed because of the card game, both collapsed onto the bed where the girls promptly relieved them of their cash. This is when I feel things started to change after Korn pulled Knock from the bed and talked him into having another drink. There was definitely sexual tension in the air by this stage. I remember Knock giving Korn “the raised eyebrows, come hither” look for the first time and Korn went in for a kiss. Things escalated from then on initiated by Korn. I’m probably the only person to think this but beside the alcohol/lack of inhibitions I feel Knock didn’t resist because he was partially turned on with the mood going on in that room.

I remember watching a YT clip (around the time TWM started its broadcast) where Max and Tul were talking to the camera about their characters, giving their impressions of each of their own character and Tul talked about how he saw Knock as slutty and how he used his eyes “seductively” (my word) the way he did with Korn in their first encounter in Ep.1.

@AlthalusWould agree with your "this was nothing but a pathetic attempt to milk a good BL series for money." except…
@Althalus
No worries...I had no issue with you using the word pathetic and I understand you using it in that context, it's just me and through my life experiences I try not to think or use negative words because for too long I always saw myself as a victim with internal anger issues (mainly due to infidelity) and it took me years to eventually realise that the only person I was hurting was myself so I worked hard to not see the world in a negative way. Cheers :)

For sure they wrote other conflicts into the story that you've pointed out and absolutely agree "the most important being the issue of the highly emotional difficulty of one's coming out to an aggressively homophobic father", That was a huge missed opportunity by the writer/s to make some decent statement about just how terribly agonising it is for gay people to be who they are in front of their parents and the whole world.
That should have been the biggest conflict really but I don't think that any of the others got much of a look in once the stink of cheating was introduced into the chapter and the others should have e.g. abuse of power in the workplace which is something that is hugely relevant today.

Australia's "Sex Discrimination Act1984 makes sexual harassment unlawful in many areas of public life, including in employment situations, educational institutions, the provision of goods, services and accommodation and the administration of Commonwealth laws or programs.
A person who sexually harasses is primarily responsible for the sexual harassment under the Sex Discrimination Act. However, in many cases, employers and others can be held responsible under the Sex Discrimination Act for acts of sexual harassment done by their employers or agents."

Re WanWan & Pete...didn't Pete say something in the last episode inferring that WanWan was his niece...can't remember where it was said in the episode but I think it was after his delightful beating.
Pete was a total sociopath.

And with the continuity of the existence of Korn's sister...it would have been so easy, somewhere in the 13 episodes, to include just one reference about her to explain what she was up to in the story line. It was probably just a trivial thing to the writer/s (if they even thought about it) but her complete omission irked some viewers.

Would agree with your "this was nothing but a pathetic attempt to milk a good BL series for money." except for pathetic, I just don't like using the word but for sure it is was aimed at being a money spinner just like many many other sequels around the world...e.g. isn't The Fast and the Furious up to No.7.
FINALE - TWMTNC

Turn out the lights
The party's over
They say that all
Good things must end
Call it a night
The party's over
And tomorrow starts
The same old thing again

My first love/hate relationship of an Asian drama. My initial thoughts on first viewing of the final episode…that may change on subsequent viewings if I get round to it.

Don’t have an awful lot to say about the final episode. Much of it was a foregone conclusion, predictable…for me everything seemed to be tied up in a neat little bow too easily…one of the benefits of being the writer/s I guess. It was obvious that the writers and/or director wanted to finish this series without any loose ends which is a good thing if there is to be no more of the story of Korn & Knock and friends.

For me precious time wasted on unimportant things like scenes with parents, fangirls.

Like I thought, there was a slight time jump (of a few weeks) helping to bring the series to a close while not making much room if at all, to continue the story of Korn & Knock.

There’s always a twist on a writer’s checklist that you're not meant to see coming…the way the dialogue went down it was obvious to me that the writer/s manipulated the viewers into thinking that Yihwa did sleep with Art, most of us thought it, so more fool us for jumping to conclusions but then we were never privy to the writers’s story before the fact. We did what the writer/s wanted us to do and we made it easy for the them to present their twist in the final episode because I doubt that any of us saw it coming.

Now if all the episodes were filmed before the first episode was aired then I could readily accept that the Yihwa twist was justified giving at least one of the couples a free get out of jail card but if her story changed during filming well that’s another kettle of fish but I’m not even going to go there, it’s redundant now anyway.

The final scene (of the two fathers) was a huge disappointment, a non event for me…I know it was supposed to be comic relief in an otherwise angst filled drama but I couldn’t muster up even a smile. Maybe I was just so cheesed off at not seeing K&K playing dress ups with Felix Mendelssohn playing in the background.

That's all I can think of atm, my head's full of sawdust but "I'll be back" :)
The whole fangirl(ing) thing is just wasted space on my laptop with their scenes.
I don't get that part of the story at all. I'm not into social media much other than FB but I'd appreciate if someone could explain to me what that all means and how that came about...how come K&K have fan girls...did they have a website/bloggy thingy and put their daily life story out there for all the world to read/know about, is it a fan club type of thing? I think I understand what a blog is but it just seems totally weird to me and baby boomers like me get left behind with this boom of social media. Who has time to do stuff like this so constantly, I don’t even have time to FB on a daily basis and I’m retired.
Thanks :)

I guess I'm in the minority, but I love this series. People are upset by the infidelity. It doesn't really bother…
@Synchonicity
Well, it's nearly all over bar the shouting and I think as this series draws to a close my feelings (and some others I feel) have softened towards the derailment of some characters in TNC and are not as PO at the writers as they once were (well that's what I hope has happened).

"this series has caused people to think, discuss and share opinions"
Have they ever, you're not wrong there :)

I think it’s because of the cheating storylines, people got really mad over that. I agree it was a bit much…
Oi Pedro Guida haven't seen you for a little bit, good to see you commenting again :)
On watching Ep. 12.
(To reiterate I’ve only watched Ep.1, Ep.11 & 12, some YT clips and as of today 1470 comments…but hey who’s counting :)

Regardless of how I feel about the cheating story lines and/or the writers nothing would have kept me from experiencing the three chapters BR, TWM and TNC. I've loved the whole bloody messy journey.

There’s a great quote by my favourite rom-com writer (the late Nora Ephron "When Harry met Sally”, “Sleepless in Seattle") when she said:
“The hardest thing about writing is writing.”
so I’ve tried not to bag (Aussie slang to criticise someone) the writers in TNC too much. I know next to nothing about writing but I do know what I like and what I don’t like in the way a story is told.

Max & Tul = for me their scene stealing “forgiveness” performance was unrestrained and emotional.
With TNC almost finished and, in a drama that on occasions had (imo) mediocre performances amongst good/great performances throughout the 3 chapters, for me Tul edged out Max to win my award for his scene stealing “forgiveness” performance…his change in facial expressions through out the scene added to his slightly broken and emotional tone of voice was so very realistic to me…for a few long seconds I forgot I was watching an actor acting.

Less is more…neither needed a long conversation to get their feelings across…they said just what needed to be said with no BS. Brave Knock took that leap of faith simply because “the heart wants what the heart wants”. He showed Korn without a doubt that “forgiveness is the final act of love”.

Make up sex...yep, nothing better. Wager the 2nd thing Korn took off was his shoes.

Rit = sadly he ended up as unintentional collateral damage of Farm’s revenge on Bright. Great scene of him crying as he was eating with the others on the beach then taking off yelling to the water’s edge...my heart broke for him.
I thought he showed great internal strength in this episode in choosing to walk away…he knew Farm’s heart belonged to someone else, he didn’t want to be second choice.

Fai = never ever disappoints - everyone needs at least one Fai in their life as a friend. Totally forthright, blunt when needed, always the calming influence and voice of reason.
LOL last of the voyeurs (watching at the window) to leave…last one in and last one out...onya Fai.
Loved the look on her face at Farm’s retort when she told Rit to get up on Farm’s shoulders and take some pics…who needs words with that expression, it was priceless.
The writers of this saga got that one character right first go…she’s been a delight to watch.

Yihwa = did I see a glimpse or two of the old Yihwa in this episode? She’s been like "a mad woman's breakfast" (meaning all over the place/messy).

Yihwa/Art = both instrumental in breaking up not one but two relationships causing heartache to both…do cheaters ever get that? It’s really a matter of choice, it’s all about either having what you want or wanting what you have.
I liked that at least Yihwa didn’t agree to get back with Cho (yet), she needs to forgive herself first before committing to another relationship. I guess it’s better to be remorseful after the fact than never at all.

Also, I don’t usually have a go at someone’s appearance but I haven’t liked Yihwa’s hair style in this chapter…loved the pink highlights but not the straight hair hanging down from a centre parting….thought it made her face appear harsher...nah not my cup of tea at all, on her nor anyone else for that matter.

Cho/Art = she loves me she loves me not…say no more!

Cho = appears a little too desperate to want Yihwa back but in his defence he’s been like a shag on a rock...what she did to Cho isn’t something you never ever not talk about, let alone forget. He wants to forget it (and never talk about it again) and move on with Yihwa. Is it a wrong choice for him to want that? who knows but maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but someday it would raise its ugly head again if some sort of resolution doesn’t/didn’t take place if they were to be a couple again.

Whatsisname (aka Pete) = in this chapter (for us) he’s been as popular as a rattle snake in a lucky dip. In Oz slang he would be referred to as (and sorry for the colourful language) “bangs like a sh*t house door in the wind”…beats me how he gets his sexual partners into bed, he’s obviously got the gift of the gab, a real sweet talker. He’s smooth, lying, slimy, icky, manipulative, cunning, sociopath….oh! I could go on all day.
The actor portraying the character must be doing something right in my eyes as that final scene (in Ep.12) in the men's room as he “surveyed” Korn just made my skin crawl. He’s probably already thinking “ok, round number 2 coming up” with Korn but we know he’s got as much chance as a one legged man in an a#se kicking competition. Won’t it be sweet just watching him bite the dust.

# I agree with some that K&K reuniting was quick…maybe that’s how it goes sometimes (idk) and if both are genuine with the declarations they made to each other then I have no doubt that the serious talks will come…I didn’t expect it to happen in the hotel room, they were busy with other things :)

# With the preview of the final episode coming up and (I’m) assuming much of the time will be used in taking Pete down l’m wondering if we’ll get much of a look-in with the K/K wedding as “we" have hoped to all through this chapter. I’m also wondering if there will be a slight time jump towards the end of the final episode, for me it’s a cheater’s way of accelerating a story to bring about the story’s end…it’s the one thing I dislike about K-dramas.

"Get Real"...any good? I've got it waiting in my iTunes folder.

Yes, things are slowly changing....guess it's better than 5 years ago and way better then 10 years ago. Since I've discovered these wonderful BL stories my understanding of the LGBTQ community has grown immeasurably as I only had a very limited knowledge before.
