This was a fun little watch. At least in the first episode it was practically slapstick with the parody and screen effects. After that it settled down fairly well.
Worth watching in between longer, more serious works.
WAIT ITS ENDING NEXT WEEK???????? what will i do with my life after this finishes already going through hell after…
Only 36 episodes, thank goodness. I'd rather start again at the beginning than have them stretch it unnecessarily with silly tropes and ridiculous plot events. They did that with miss the dragon and it was a big flop.
the chemistry of character and the actor but precisely the script is also good.
This is an excellent script. It's tight, has good tension, builds characters very effectively, and seems to be in control of the plot arc. [Waiting to see how it turns out.]
Ive watched all his dramas like 3 or 4 with this, also watched Missed the Dragon that is a little similar to this…
have to agree about the bad script and direction. This role was made for him, and playing opposite Esther imo provided extra confidence and a support zone. Watching some of the BTS clips, you can see he was working really hard.
I've found a few episodes subbed in Indonesian on YouTube ... Looks like a totally different story line, with only only Chu He reprising his original role. There is a different actor for the male lead, and while the FL is the same actor, the character she portrays is a very different person. Not sure if I'm going to like this version as much, tho... as the ML and FL seem to be more confrontational with each other than with a common enemy, as was the case in season 1.
To be honest, I'll be skimming through to watch the scenes with Chu He in them ... I love Chen SiQi!
Alright alright, if Word of Honor isn't a Wuxia drama, then I'm not a human being living on planet earth. XDWord…
IMO it and Ancient Detectives are some of the best recent examples. Lots of decent martial arts representations and good development of the Jiang Hu community / culture.
I like the concept behind this, but the plot was ridiculously and unnecessarily convoluted. I'd love to see this cast given a better script to work with.
Thanks for this in depth review that clearly expresses much of what I was thinking about this drama. I would add in the high value impact of the costuming and color palate for sets and clothing. It was a pleasure to see the characters wearing colors that highlighted their looks and / or carefully represented their role / status. The scenic backdrops were also very well selected and quite beautiful.

PLEASE let this beautiful man get some more roles .... he is so lovely!
