I just finished watching story of kunning palace and honestly, it beat my expectations. I didn't think I would like this as much as I actually did. Everyone here is exaggerating Zhang Ling He's facial expressions. It isn't as bad as everyone here is claiming it to be. I actually think that his acting was perfect for a complicated character like Xie Wei. This drama definitely exceeded my expectations. It's a must watch and now I need another drama of Bai Lu and Zhang Ling He 😭

The story was perfect. It reminds me of love like the galaxy because of the character identities. I would rate a solid 8.5 out of 10 and after the 20 episodes, I actually started enjoying it more because that's when the chemistry between the FL and ML actually starts to build. Fl's previous life was too messy in my opinion but it showed a real effect on her resurrected life. Tho I do not like resurrection plots, this one wasn't that bad. I did feel very bad for the other two mls 😭😭
I low-key ship the Princess and Yan Lin. They both suit eachother perfectly and as for Zhang Zhe (bro low-key annoyed me til episode 25)

Also another thing I didn't really like was the ending. It felt so rushed, we didn't see a proper wedding, I really wanted to see a proper wedding scene and not to mention the sentences for the Xue family. For a family, so wicked. How could their sentence be so little?
I felt that many elements of the ending were missing or lacking in one way or another.

I don't agree here. I watched this drama when it was airing and this is such a great drama and I have watched none other like this. My top favourite cdrama has been love like the galaxy and then I liked legend of the female general, love between lines and love in the clouds. But for historical after love like the galaxy, no cdrama hit the spot until this one. My family doesn't like Cdramas but even they watched this one and they still rewatch it from time to time. The story had depth, it made sense, it captured the essence of the characters perfectly and nothing seemed too fake other than the dramatic elements. This is that one drama that was executed perfectly in all it's elements and I watched this drama when it was airing and I was anticipating this drama from august and what the audience felt watching this could never be described to people who are watching it now. Even when the last episodes got leaked, we didn't watch and followed the airing schedule, the sentiments me and all other audience watching this felt was so magical, so this drama i truly lived up to its hype and the
rating is well deserved. This drama didn't disappoint one bit.

just a question for those who have read the novel, i was wondering if the reunion extra chapter 182 is actually completed or is it ongoing? the ending feels unfinished…

I know many people here are pissed at the fandom wars and what not especially both actors being threatened by eachother's fans. What we can do is support the cast of ci tang. Let's support Zhang Ling He and Lu Yu Xiao and secure this project. They both will do amazing as the ML and FL. I legit cannot imagine another ML or FL for this drama. I really hope both sides can pull through and make a deal. And let's support both actors, crew and production. What should matter to us fans is whether the script of the drama is good and how well it's directed. We shouldn't dwell on fan wars and ruin other people's careers.

The official cast isn't announced but I really do wish that we can see Zhang Ling He and Lu Yu Xiao but I really hope their won't be disputes between the actors due to their past history. This collab seems impossible but somehow possible if the director ACTUALLY uses his connections 😭

I completely agree with you. Zhang Ling He is one of my favourite actors but his fan base always stirs massive trouble for his co-stars and this is the case with many popular actors/actresses out there. Lu Yu Xiao and Zhang Ling He would be the most perfect couple in this cdrama and the storyline is very intriguing too. Let's just hope the director pulls some strings and pairs them together but the backlash would be heavy as hell considering Zhang Ling He's fandom and Lu Yu Xiao's fandom.. They both have very possessive fandoms in my opinion. But I also think that this drama would be a great success if we can get this drama on netflix. This happened with the pursuit of jade too when the actors were casted. Their was so much backlash but it was also a huge hit internationally and nationally due to netflix being a major sponsor and it was a very anticipated drama too.

Okay, my opinion slightly detered after watching the ending. It was genuinely terrible. We didn't see any lovey dovey moments. It had so much potential even for the last 5 episodes. We could've had a perfect ending and it would've changed the opinion of so many people about this drama. I fear that this ending has made the opinions of people worser. This drama had so much potential but it got ruined in the end. I was genuinely enjoying it and they wasted the potential of so many other actors as well. The side actors acted so well only for the director to ruin it all. I really hope the actors would choose better scripts. I really thought this drama was a fresh drama considering all the previous drama consistent of one storyline such as resurrection or sibling troop. So this really was a fresher drama but only if they hadn't made the ending so confusing and weird. Half of us don't even understand whether it's a OE or SE

Honestly, it isn't that bad as everyone is making it to be. It's pretty decent compared to some cdramas I have had to drop and personally, I nowadays am into dramatics so this actually hits the spot 😭 I was tired of resurrection, sibling troops. Most of the cdramas have been following the same storyline for a long while. I am enjoying this a lot 🥹
It's a pretty new drama in my opinion. (Before you come at me, I am not a hard core Zhang Linghe fan. Only started liking him after pursuit of jade and he definitely isn't like those handsome actors with zero talent. He actually has the talent so my perception of him changed alot after watching some of his dramas like poj and the best thing)

Okay, so I am on the 16 episode. I dropped it on episode 1 but picked it up and this is a really fresh drama because I was getting sick of the sibling genre and honestly speaking, this is so good. I personally love dramatic dramas because sometimes they really do hit the spot. Since the inspo for this drama was a vertical short drama, I really do like it. It's very different from other cdramas one may occasionally watch. The rating is a exaggerated, it totally deserves a solid 8 or 7.5 at least. Many people are really exaggerating it's contents.. the problem of trafficking is a real problem and this drama has highlighted it very well. Yeah the love story is full of misunderstandings and whatnot but honestly after seeing so many dramas where everything is resolved isn't feeling right. So I personally love it. Murong Qingyi isn't even trying to understand her and Ren Susu is after revenge. It's pretty understandable and many be blaming the FL but the FL gave the ML many chances to back off but he kept getting involved. FL never had the time to explain her story to him and after everything she has been through, I can understand why she's doing what she's doing and same with the ML. Both are the same kind of people with trust issues. Qingyi isn't able to fully trust her and blames her for every short-coming and the FL is always conscious and she's a leader of the gang, she cannot let her girls down either so I completely understand why she's not telling Qingyi of her circumstances. This is fight that both of them cannot fight together. I genuinely hope we'll get some lovey dovey moments and it'll be a happy ending. But overall, it isn't as bad as people of MDL are making it to be. It's definitely very fresh and very new in the cdrama world.

Why is the rating so low? I watched the first episode and other than the intro, I do think it's good
