Why do I find CYB and XL so cute? They give off the vibe of an old married couple, finishing off each other's sentences, seamless teamwork in fights, and XL turning cute and sweet when she wants something from CYB haha. The way they can sense each other's wavelength is impressive! When one wants to play, the other plays right along - so cute to see! Whenever CYB is feeling uneasy, he first calls XL - like when he was weak in that alley, he called XL, when he woke up in the hotel, his first instinct was to hug XL and then when he woke up from the fight in ep12, he first looked for XL again! Oww, is this the romance line the genre above is hinting at? It's because there is no other romance line I've seen and we are nearing the middle of the series already.
The FL and ML skirt around their attraction for each other. The way they describe their ideal partners is like describing each other.. and unfortunately, Beilou comes across as their father trying to keep his naughty children in check lol. Ahh, this is just a joy to watch... 9 episodes in and i still haven't touched the fast forward button - the story is interesting and i love the cast's interaction, not a dull moment with this trio!
Started watching this on youku app yesterday, then I just noticed now that it is actually tagged as season 2, season 1 being the prequel. So while waiting for new episodes to come out, I am watching season 1 just for the background story. 😜 Clearly, the budget is better for this season. I am loving it especially when i watch with my airpods/headphones. Love the costumes too, subtle but good. Going in, I had no expectations at all as I am not into this genre much but boy, this took me by surprise because it seems money was well spent on post prod which makes the series more enjoyable.

This was a good watch overall! Thank goodness for the express package with eng subs as I don't think I would have held on waiting until next week for the rest of the episodes. It was an easy watch, nothing heavy nor burdensome which I really like. Love the chemistry, friendship and especially the trust between the main leads. The comedic moments in this drama made me laugh at unexpected times which I really found refreshing - aka SSL haha. The FL writing the novel did not bother me at all because aren't all these dramas just stories anyways? It isn't a historical drama so this isn't even an issue.
ep 18 was simply fire! I cannot wait to see ep 19 and how their relationship will change now. One thing for sure though, their chemistry is through the roof!!!
