I read somewhere that she funded/co-produced that drama, Bright as the Moon to realise her dream of playing a FL in a costume drama.

She truly has that ancient beauty look and that's why we can still see her in every other big fantasy or costume dramas.

I would aged alot too if all producers come to me to play supporting roles that are typically mum to FL or ML (Cheng Yi in Immortal Samsara), although those scenes were flashbacks or time travelling stories.

Is it a coincidence....Zhang Zhixi playing Goddess of Time is FL's mum. She also plays The Journey of Chongzi's FL's mum.

Yu Bo plays FL's dad here and Chongzi's too.

Both dramas' FL is a product of love from mixed marriage of God and Devil.

Maybe the early 2000s batch of actors and actresses can articulate well in dialogues. No dubbers required... it so good to hear Wallace and Bingbing delievering dialogues using their own voices.

The storyline is not exceptionally different from a typical melodrama esp with a backstory about the complicated life of a wealthy family in Republican era. If this was made in 2023 by Yu Zheng, more resources will be used by production team to showcase on lantern making tecniques, costumes, materials & supply chain, etc instead of focusing more screen time on evil women who had mistreated the FL and ML.... hahaha

I rewatched Love 020 (2016) movie starring Jing Boran and Angelababy, which Tan Songyun also starred but playing FL's room mate cum best friend.

The actress playing Lu Chen's mother also had a role in Love 020 movie as Wei Wei's mother.

Censorship for streamimg sites dramas more relaxed I think.

Yang Yang and Dilireba intimate scenes were pretty intense but fully clothed in You Are My Glory.
