Actually not bankrupt, ML can still choose who can buy all his assets and his company's assets to repay his debts.

A bankruptcy would mean he has no choice as a liquidator will come in to foreclose the business and seize all the assets from him. Usually these assets will be sold off at discounted prices irrespective they are tangible or intangible assets.

I can't make out whether Councillor Park played by Jang Hyuk is a villain or not. Any palace or court drama is not always straight forward.

I dont rate this drama high (average 8) as some episodes have reasonable pacing but others just got excessive details injected into in 1 episode. But overall it has enough power to pull you to finish the line. Its not a long drama, with only 24 episodes.

This drama is not easy to follow as there are many characters and plots.

Dont compare this with Luoyang and Longest Day in Changan, which are easier to follow, even with good English subs.

Thankfully at the end of every episode, there is a summary narrated by a man.

Although there is no female leads but characters played by Sun Yi and Angelababy are as important and relevant to the main plots.

So far I have only watched Goodbye My Princess, Sidge in Fog and Tears in Heaven. I will check out the rest if I have time.

Agree that this era of dramas typically have that kind of backstory.

I wont rate this drama very high but I will watch till the end just to get to the ending. Nowadays people switch to new dramas before finishing the airing ones and sometimes drop after 1 or 2 episodes.

Looks like the characters played by Shawn Dou as Xiao Bei Chien here and his role as Lei Yu Zheng in Tears in Heaven are milder in the drama compared to the novels as a love craze, possessive and jealous ML.

Nonetheless i think Shawn Dou had acted well and better chemistry with Li Qin compared Chen Duling.

Many think that ML behaves like a jerk sometimes or "protective over female staff". Well to a certain extend thats how most big organisation structure work. Some say it is hierarchical but mostly I think it is patriarchal. I totally feel FL struggle.

This drama is absolutely not like What's Wrong With Secretary Kim.

I first watched Bai Yu in the movie version of Love 020 or "One Smile is Too Alluring" with Angelababy.

Watched up to ep.8 then straight to ep.12. As much as I like yaya as the FL but can't endure any more meaningless misunderstandings flaring up whenever FL and ML got better with each other after their engagement.

Ep3 - I dont understand why ML not just didnt want to take FL handkerchief gift nor his original handkerchief, he threw both. Being mischievous is one thing but rude is another thing.

I love Kang Han Na!! I enjoyed all her screen time in "Start Up" and "My Roommate is Gumiho" although she was 2FL.
