Wu Lei is an acclaimed and legit actor, however LLG is an idol drama. There is nothing wrong for him to act in one or more of them. Lin Shen is a serious actor yet he acted in a very popular idol drama/romcom with Zhao Lusi in Dating In The Kitchen.

Tears in Heaven is watchable as his pairing with Li Qin were convincing, although his voice was dubbed.

I could not have said it better @DramaAhjumma and totally agree LBY said those lines to impress Niao Niao's parents.

It may sound silly but both Ahyao and Niao Niao have a common goal that bonded togther, which is to get married as an excuse to live independently from their strict families. It didn't sound like a rational choice but it was a desperate escape from Niao Niao's perspective.
