There were some news from this drama last year but not as many as the Legend of Anle, the one Dilireba acted with Gong Jun.

That means they were shooting the drama during pandemic. So the filming from Feb - June 2021 should include Part 2 as well.

I enjoy every script lines uttered by the mighty and witty Qing Shu (Blue feather phoenix), especially when she teases San Yue and her cat disciple - Li Shu.

I am quite late following this drama, just finished ep. 17.

I wonder when this drama was shot as Allen Ren and Ci Sha look younger and make up/foundation used here look not so current type compared to Forever And Ever. My guess is in 2018.

Dilireba look ever so beautiful and fresh so cant telll whether this drama was shot around Long Ballad or Eternal Love of Dream/Pillow Book. Around 2018-2019.

For Wang Yi Fei, i am disappointed with her costume and make up plus hairdo here because she looks more beautiful (although villainous) in Ashes of Love and Eternal Love of Dream.

As for Li Shen, is it before of after Joy of Life, around 2018?

The rating and viewership are not as great as expected maybe because 2521 and A Business Proposal dominated the interests and headlines.

Although I like those popular dramas, Kill Heel is also my type of drama.

Hmmmm....similar backdrop like Rattan (romance between human and alien turned part human and rattan formed with special powers) but I feel Macalee/Makkali is more of a local folklore tale than fictional scifi (sometimes illogical) like Rattan.

1st leg is about how ML and FL met and fall in love when they were young and how they unwillingly got separated.

2nd leg is about politics within the royal family, harem infighting, triangle love and unrest struggle between emperor (SML) , Mingyu/Consort (FL) and 9th Prince/ Chengxu (ML).

3rd leg about the upbringing of Mingyu's son, young emperor and new challenges in the monarchy in fictional Sheng Dynasty.

My fave is the final 3rd leg and have rated higher at 8.5. Maybe many MDLers dropped mid way as 2nd leg quite draggy so not surprised its at average 7.5 rating. Took me more than 1 year to watch the 56 episodes and glad i picked it up again to finish it.

Not a fan of Cheng Yi, but he is very good in playing strong, intelligent but tragic in love kind of ML. I am surprised Sarah Zhao can play young, mid-age and aged FL well and the crying scenes were quite convincing. Wonder why she looked different and older
in You Are My Glory (modern drama) with a
cameo appearance but looks gorgeous in
Handsome Siblings (2020) in wuxia dressing,
also cameo appearance as twins' mother. Not sure how many times Han Dong and Cheng Yi have collaborated.

This was apparently Yang Chao Yue debut in Cdrama.

Zo In Sung's best buddies came in Season 2 - Lee Kwang Soo, Im Joo Hwan and one guy missing was Song Jongki 😂. Anyway add Kim Woobin and you get 4 tall guys in the store.

Sorry my mistake! The lakorn I was supposed to make comparison with "My Beloved ? In Laws" is "So Wayree" as both FL and ML are the same actress and actor. Hope this lakorn is more light hearted and nothing too dramatic.

After watching 10 episodes of Minglan, I understand more and can draw the similarities between Minglan and Autumn Ballad wrt the roles &
responsibilities (or woes) of being concubine and her children in a noble or aristocrat family.

Great! Now I am motivated to pick Ming Lan up. I watched ep.1& trailer, didnt seem like a trans-migrated back story type. Maybe its the censorship......

Watched this movie to understand why there's so much hype and buzz about this movie. I say its a light comedy with some educational points about SM. What is acceptable and what is not acceptable, where it crosses the line and not fun anymore.....perhaps to educate younger people.

Speaking of watching Ming Lan, I read alot of good reviews about Legend of Ming Lan but the 80 episodes length is quite discouraging. Only if I have long break like a week to binge then I will consider.
