This particular period costume and hairdo have some similarities to ancient Japanese costumes. Also read somewhere Chinese conspiracy theorists argued that part of the delegation assigned by Emperor Qin's conquest for eternal life who have deviated and retreated in a faraway land bringing the culture and influence to what is known as Nihun Go aka Japan.

Yes @bibi-bibi, unfortunately the producers in most Cdramas still apply the over repeated winning or safe formula - Mary Sue aka damsel in distress or poor girl- rich man to atttact viewerships.

If you watch the season finale of Season 2 -Actors Please Take Your Place ( more details can be found in MDL ), the producers openly invite 7 to 9 of the 40 contestants to do idol dramas, which 90% carry the safe winning formula.

Oh wow the rating dropped below 8.0 points. I must say that the first 20 eps. were pretty good with appropriate pacing.

Up to raw ep.2. This Cdrama is a lighter compared to "You Complete Me", which also has Investment Banking underlying theme.

I must say that Hawick Lau ( also Huang Xiao Ming) can still play ML in dramas like this type. The big age gap btw ML and FL is still logical as being a department head in IB usually are in their forties minimum, whereas a management trainee/junior analyst is usually in early 20s.

While waiting for You Complete Me new episodes to come out, am watching this to fill the free time for my year end break.

The storyline is actually quite interesting with the IB background and revenge plot, however they need to do more research on the specific sector to make it more believable.

I can't help but to point out 2 main flaws in the script.

First is that in any investment bank premises, the security checkpoints are very strict and has Great Wall policy, the FL- Lin Wo has entered and exited Motian/Most Sky numerous times without registering or even tagging visitor pass. Outsiders can only sit in conference room and not roam around working area.

Secondly, in ep.10 -11 ML - Gao Shan completed a M&A proposal within 1 night could just walk out of the office without carrying the laptop after hearing fire alarm?? To me it's natural instinct to grab important things like handbag, phone n laptop with you before leaving considering a lot of hard work done in the proposal!!

I dont want to call this an idol drama because the very good looking lead and supporting actors acted d@mn well here.

Finally just finished the last episode. Love it!!

I am surprised that i watched all episodes for this Chinese reality show. The appealing factor is that the show has created alot of noise and memes in Chinese social medias, whether positive or negative.

The season finale also has a surprise performance from Xiao Zhan, his first live performance since the controversy.

Not exactly high rating but high viewership for a non idol drama as its consistently top 10 in webdrama category ref to drama panda.

Yes, agree its under rated. Modern dramas are less popular if its not college love.

I cant imagine any actor other than Kenny Lin playing the ML. No wonder this drama has consistent high rating and viewership in China. Its also good to hear his own voice in this drama. Gai Cass is also surprisingly very fitting as FL as i never watched her acted.

I agree with you and didnt mean it in a bad way. Who would have thought it was all released at one go, which is a unique and isolated case.

Members should treat each other like neighbours, not complaining but trying to understand the situation. If this drama gets enough fans and discussion volume it will surely appear in Trending section. ...i hope

I am a bit sad that this Cdrama is not placed in "Show Starting This Week" and/or " Show Ending This Week" to provide more exposure to MDL and Non-MDL members.

Understand this Cdrama has released all 49 eps out of a sudden last week but I feel it should be showcased on the MDL main page atleast once.

Am i the last one to start watching this Cdrama today though i have waited years for the premiere.

From sooo many comments >3300 here so that means most of you have finished watching??

Clearly this drama was shot before Joy of Life as Li Qin - Princess Drumstick and Xin Ji Lei - Hai Tang Dor Dor look so much younger here. Also way before Sean Xiao's breakout role in The Untamed.

This higher budgeted romcom is so easy to like and watch. There is no exaggeration in the main leads wealth, character and beauty . I also like the flow of the story and how it reflects the reality in a modern and digitised China society.

Both Johnny Huang and Wu Jin Yan are so natural with each other and very believable in their character as childhood friends. So far in ep.8 and cant stop watching.

Wonder how this drama went passed the censorship given this is a Cdrama and touches spirit elements but not scary, which also coincidentally released in Halloween week..haha. Am glad it did! Watching this with high hopes of the drama focusing more on the main characters and not too much of side stories.

This drama reminds me the typical classic kdramas in early 2000s produced by KBS/MBC/SBS which were responsible for bringing the first hallyu to the world. Despite the flaws in the script and over dramatic storyline on love, relationship and family, I cant stop watching! I may start rating it 7.5 points but quite sure by end of the drama i will rate it 9.0. Not because i like the actors, Ji Eun beautiful wardrobe, the familar yet intriguing plot, etc its just the strong kdrama flavour and sountrack are just so right and suits my mood.

Too bad its only half an hour per episode.
