I am surprised that i watched all episodes for this Chinese reality show. The appealing factor is that the show has created alot of noise and memes in Chinese social medias, whether positive or negative.
The season finale also has a surprise performance from Xiao Zhan, his first live performance since the controversy.
I cant imagine any actor other than Kenny Lin playing the ML. No wonder this drama has consistent high rating and viewership in China. Its also good to hear his own voice in this drama. Gai Cass is also surprisingly very fitting as FL as i never watched her acted.

Clearly this drama was shot before Joy of Life as Li Qin - Princess Drumstick and Xin Ji Lei - Hai Tang Dor Dor look so much younger here. Also way before Sean Xiao's breakout role in The Untamed.
This higher budgeted romcom is so easy to like and watch. There is no exaggeration in the main leads wealth, character and beauty . I also like the flow of the story and how it reflects the reality in a modern and digitised China society.
Both Johnny Huang and Wu Jin Yan are so natural with each other and very believable in their character as childhood friends. So far in ep.8 and cant stop watching.
Wonder how this drama went passed the censorship given this is a Cdrama and touches spirit elements but not scary, which also coincidentally released in Halloween week..haha. Am glad it did! Watching this with high hopes of the drama focusing more on the main characters and not too much of side stories.
This drama reminds me the typical classic kdramas in early 2000s produced by KBS/MBC/SBS which were responsible for bringing the first hallyu to the world. Despite the flaws in the script and over dramatic storyline on love, relationship and family, I cant stop watching! I may start rating it 7.5 points but quite sure by end of the drama i will rate it 9.0. Not because i like the actors, Ji Eun beautiful wardrobe, the familar yet intriguing plot, etc its just the strong kdrama flavour and sountrack are just so right and suits my mood.

Can you imagine, business news talking about a famous idol costume drama that pushes share price up....
